Head and Neck Cancers (HNC) significantly impact patients' ability to speak, affecting their quality of life. Commonly used metrics for assessing pathological speech are subjective, prompting the need for automated and unbiased evaluation methods. This study proposes a self-supervised Wav2Vec2-based model for phone classification with HNC patients, to enhance accuracy and improve the discrimination of phonetic features for subsequent interpretability purpose. The impact of pre-training datasets, model size, and fine-tuning datasets and parameters are explored. Evaluation on diverse corpora reveals the effectiveness of the Wav2Vec2 architecture, outperforming a CNN-based approach, used in previous work. Correlation with perceptual measures also affirms the model relevance for impaired speech analysis. This work paves the way for better understanding of pathological speech with interpretable approaches for clinicians, by leveraging complex self-learnt speech representations.

We present the white paper developed during the QEYSSat 2.0 study, which was undertaken between June 2021 and March 2022. The study objective was to establish a technology road-map for a Canada-wide quantum network enabled by satellites. We survey the state-of-art in quantum communication technologies, identify the main applications and architectures, review the technical readiness levels and technology bottlenecks and identify a future mission scenario. We report the findings of a dedicated one-day workshop that included Canadian stakeholders from government, industry and academia to gather inputs and insights for the applications and technical road-map. We also provide an overview of the Quantum EncrYption and Science Satellite (QEYSSat) mission expected to launch in 2024-2025 and its anticipated outcomes. One of the main outcomes of this study is that develo** the main elements for a Canada-wide quantum internet will have the highest level of impact, which includes Canada-wide entanglement distribution and teleportation. We present and analyze a possible future mission ('QEYSSat 2.0') that would enable a long range quantum teleportation across Canada as an important step towards this vision.

Purpose: We seek to explore the realm of literature about digital libraries. We specifically seek to ascertain how interest in this subject has evolved, its impact, the most productive journals and countries, the number of occurrences of digital libraries, the relationships and dynamics of the main concepts mentioned, and the dynamics of metadata formats.Methods: We extracted corpora from the Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Search bibliographic databases. We analyzed the named entities and concepts contained within these corpora with the help of text mining technologies, CorTexT in particular.Results: While the number of publications on the subject of digital libraries is increasing, their average number of citations is decreasing. China, the United States and India are the most productive countries on the subject. Literature about conservation and national libraries has gradually been replaced by literature about open access, university libraries and the relationship with users. Internet Archive is the most cited digital library in literature and continues to grow. Dublin Core is the most talked about metadata format, however the subject of metadata formats is declining in the corpus today.Conclusion: Digital libraries now seem to be reaching the age of maturity.
