Evidence for $η_c$(2S)$\to\pipieta$ decay

Abstract: The decay $η_c(2S)\to\pipieta$ is searched for through the radiative transition $ψ(3686) \toγη_c(2S)$ using 448 million $ψ$(3686) events accumulated at the BESIII detector. The first evidence of $η_c(2S)\toπ^+π^-η$ is found with a statistical significance of 3.5$σ$. The product of the branching fractions of $ψ(3686)\toγη_c(2S)$ and $η_c(2S)\to\pipieta$ is measured to be… ▽ More The decay $η_c(2S)\to\pipieta$ is searched for through the radiative transition $ψ(3686) \toγη_c(2S)$ using 448 million $ψ$(3686) events accumulated at the BESIII detector. The first evidence of $η_c(2S)\toπ^+π^-η$ is found with a statistical significance of 3.5$σ$. The product of the branching fractions of $ψ(3686)\toγη_c(2S)$ and $η_c(2S)\to\pipieta$ is measured to be $Br(ψ(3686)\toγη_c(2S))\times Br(η_c(2S)\to\pipieta)=(2.97\pm0.81\pm0.26)\times10^{-6}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second one is systematic. The branching fraction of the decay $η_c(2S)\to\pipieta$ is determined to be $Br(η_c(2S)\to\pipieta)=(42.4\pm11.6\pm3.8\pm30.3)\times10^{-4}$, where the third uncertainty is transferred from the uncertainty of the branching fraction of $ψ(3686)\toγη_c(2S)$. △ Less

Measurement of $e^+e^-\rightarrowΛ\barΛη$ from 3.5106 to 4.6988 GeV and study of $Λ\barΛ$ mass threshold enhancement

Abstract: Using data samples with a total integrated luminosity of approximately 18 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII, the process $e^+e^-\rightarrowΛ\barΛ η$ is studied at center-of-mass energies between 3.5106 and 4.6988 GeV. The Born cross section for the process $e^+e^-\rightarrowΛ\barΛη$ is measured. No significant structure is observed in the Born cross section line sh… ▽ More Using data samples with a total integrated luminosity of approximately 18 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII, the process $e^+e^-\rightarrowΛ\barΛ η$ is studied at center-of-mass energies between 3.5106 and 4.6988 GeV. The Born cross section for the process $e^+e^-\rightarrowΛ\barΛη$ is measured. No significant structure is observed in the Born cross section line shape. An enhancement near the $Λ\barΛ$ mass threshold is observed for the first time in the process. The structure can be described by an $S$-wave Breit-Wigner function. Neglecting contribution of excited $Λ$ states and potential interferences, the mass and width are determined to be ($2356\pm 7\pm17$) MeV/$c^2$ and ($304\pm28\pm54$) MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. △ Less

Abstract: Cross sections for the process $e^{+} e^{-} \to K_{S}^{0} K_{S}^{0} J/ψ$ at center-of-mass energies from $4.128$ to $4.950$ GeV are measured using data samples with a total integrated luminosity of 21.2 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. The $Y(4230)$ state is observed in the energy dependence of the $e^{+} e^{-} \to K_{S}^{0} K_{S}^{0} J/ψ$ cross sect… ▽ More Cross sections for the process $e^{+} e^{-} \to K_{S}^{0} K_{S}^{0} J/ψ$ at center-of-mass energies from $4.128$ to $4.950$ GeV are measured using data samples with a total integrated luminosity of 21.2 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. The $Y(4230)$ state is observed in the energy dependence of the $e^{+} e^{-} \to K_{S}^{0} K_{S}^{0} J/ψ$ cross section for the first time with a statistical significance of 26.0$σ$. In addition, an enhancement around $4.710$ GeV, called the $Y(4710)$, is seen with a statistical significance of 4.2$σ$. There is no clear structure around $4.484$ GeV. Using a fit with a coherent sum of three Breit-Wigner functions, we determine the mass and width of the $Y(4230)$ state to be $4226.9 \pm 6.6 \pm 21.9$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $71.7 \pm 16.2 \pm 31.4$ MeV, respectively, and the mass and width of the $Y(4710)$ state to be $4704.0 \pm 52.3 \pm 69.5$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $183.2 \pm 114.0 \pm 90.8$ MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. In addition, the average Born cross section ratio of $e^{+} e^{-} \to K_{S}^{0} K_{S}^{0} J/ψ$ to $e^{+} e^{-} \to K^{+} K^{-} J/ψ$ is measured to be $0.388_{-0.028}^{+0.035}\pm0.016$, or $0.426_{-0.031}^{+0.038}\pm0.018$ if three-body phase space is considered. △ Less

After more than ten year's operation, the efficiency of the inner layers of the Main Drift Chamber (MDC) decreased significantly. To solve this issue, the BESIII collaboration is planning to replace the inner part of the MDC with three layers of Cylindrical tri… ▽ More The Bei**g Electron Spectrometer III (BESIII) is a multipurpose detector operating on the Bei**g Electron Positron Collider II (BEPCII). After more than ten year's operation, the efficiency of the inner layers of the Main Drift Chamber (MDC) decreased significantly. To solve this issue, the BESIII collaboration is planning to replace the inner part of the MDC with three layers of Cylindrical triple Gas Electron Multipliers (CGEM). The transverse plane spatial resolution of CGEM is required to be 120 $μ$m or better. To meet this goal, a careful calibration of the detector is necessary to fully exploit the potential of the CGEM detector. In all the calibrations, the detector alignment plays an important role to improve the detector precision. The track-based alignment for the CGEM detector with the Millepede algorithm is implemented to reduce the uncertainties of the hit position measurement. Using the cosmic-ray data taken in 2020 with the two layers setup, the displacement and rotation of the outer layer with respect to the inner layer is determined by a simultaneous fit applied to more than 160000 tracks. A good alignment precision has been achieved that guarantees the design request could be satisfied in the future. A further alignment is going to be performed using the combined information of tracks from cosmic-ray and collisions after the CGEM is installed into the BESIII detector. △ Less

We extract the partial decay rates as functions of $w$ and perform a fit to the decay form-factor and the CKM parameter $|V_{cb}|$ using the BGL parameterization of the form factor and lattice QCD input from the FNAL/MILC and HPQCD collaborations. We obtain $η_{EW}|V_{cb}|=(38.53\pm 1.15)\times 10^{-3}$, where $η_{EW}$ is an electroweak correction, and the error accounts for theoretical and experimental sources of uncertainty. △ Less

Abstract: We present an analysis of the charmless semileptonic decay $B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}$, where $\ell = e, μ$, from 198.0 million pairs of $B\bar{B}$ mesons recorded by the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB electron-positron collider. The decay is reconstructed without identifying the partner $B$ meson. The total branching fraction is found to be $(1.426 \pm 0.056 \pm 0.125) \times 10^{-4}$ for $B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}$ decays, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. By fitting the measured partial branching fractions as functions of $q^{2}$, together with constraints on the nonperturbative hadronic contribution from lattice QCD calculations, the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $V_{ub}$, $(3.55 \pm 0.12 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.17) \times 10^{-3}$, is extracted. Abstract: Using electron-positron annihilation data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5 $\rm{{fb}^{-1}}$, collected by the BESIII detector in the energy region between $4600$ MeV and $4699$ MeV, we report the first observations of the Cabibbo-suppressed decays $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+π^0$, $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+π^-π^+$, and the Cabibbo-favored decay $Λ_c^+\to nK^-π^+π^+$ with statistical significances of… ▽ More Using electron-positron annihilation data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5 $\rm{{fb}^{-1}}$, collected by the BESIII detector in the energy region between $4600$ MeV and $4699$ MeV, we report the first observations of the Cabibbo-suppressed decays $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+π^0$, $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+π^-π^+$, and the Cabibbo-favored decay $Λ_c^+\to nK^-π^+π^+$ with statistical significances of $7.9σ$, $7.8σ$, and $>10σ$, respectively. The branching fractions of these decays are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+}\rightarrow nπ^{+}π^{0})=(0.64\pm0.09\pm0.02)\%$, $\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+}\rightarrow nπ^{+}π^{-}π^{+})=(0.45\pm0.07\pm0.03)\%$, and $\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+}\rightarrow nK^{-}π^{+}π^{+})=(1.90\pm0.08\pm0.09)\%$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. Abstract: Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 11.3 $\rm fb^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energies from $4.23$ to $4.70$~GeV with the BESIII detector, we observe the process $e^+e^-\toπ^0π^0ψ_2(3823)$ for the first time with a statistical significance of $6.0σ$. The ratio of average cross sections for $e^+e^-\toπ^0π^0ψ_2(3823)$ over $π^+π^-ψ_2(3823)$ is determined to be $\mathcal{R}=\frac{σ[e^+e^-\toπ^0π^0ψ_2(3823)]}{σ[e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-ψ_2(3823)]}=0.57\pm 0.14\pm0.05$, which is consistent with expectations from isospin symmetry. Here and below, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The mass of the $ψ_2(3823)$ is measured to be $M[ψ_2(3823)]=3824.5\pm 2.4\pm 1.0$~MeV/$c^2$. Abstract: Using $(448.1\pm2.9)\times10^6$ $ ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the decay $ψ(3686)\toΣ^-\barΣ^+$ is observed for the first time with a branching fraction of $(2.82\pm0.04_{\rm stat.}\pm0.08_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-4}$, and the angular parameter $α_{ Σ^-}$ is measured to be $0.96\pm0.09_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst.}$. Using $(448.1\pm2.9)\times10^6$ $ ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the decay $ψ(3686)\toΣ^-\barΣ^+$ is observed for the first time with a branching fraction of $(2.82\pm0.04_{\rm stat.}\pm0.08_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-4}$, and the angular parameter $α_{ Σ^-}$ is measured to be $0.96\pm0.09_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst.}$. △ Less

Search for invisible decays of a dark photon using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data at BESIII

Abstract: We report a search for a dark photon using $14.9$~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data taken at center-of-mass energies from 4.13 to 4.60~GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII storage ring. The dark photon is assumed to be produced in the radiative annihilation process of $e^+e^-$ and to predominantly decay into light dark matter particles, which escape from the detector undetecte… ▽ More We report a search for a dark photon using $14.9$~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data taken at center-of-mass energies from 4.13 to 4.60~GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII storage ring. The dark photon is assumed to be produced in the radiative annihilation process of $e^+e^-$ and to predominantly decay into light dark matter particles, which escape from the detector undetected. The mass range from 1.5 to 2.9~GeV is scanned for the dark photon candidate, and no significant signal is observed. The mass dependent upper limits at the 90$\%$ confidence level on the coupling strength parameter $ε$ for a dark photon coupling with an ordinary photon vary between $1.6\times 10^{-3}$ and $5.7\times10^{-3}$. △ Less

Both analysis approaches exhibit dominant pseudoscalar and axial vector components, and show good consistency for the other individual components. Furthermore, the mass dependent analysis reveals that the $K^{0}_{S}K^{0}_{S}π^{0}$ invariant mass spectrum for the pseudoscalar component can be well described with two isoscalar resonant states using relativistic Breit-Wigner model, ${\it i.e.}$, the $η(1405)$ with a mass of $1391.7\pm0.7_{-0.3}^{+11.3}\mathrm{\ Me\kern -0.1em V}/c^2$ and a width of $60.8\pm1.2_{-12.0}^{+5.5}\mathrm{\ Me\kern -0.1em V}$, and the $η(1475)$ with a mass of $1507.6\pm1.6_{-32.2}^{+15.5}\mathrm{\ Me\kern -0.1em V}/c^2$ and a width of $115.8\pm2.4_{-10.9}^{+14.8}\mathrm{\ Me\kern -0.1em V}$. The first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Alternate models for the pseudoscalar component are also tested, but the description of the $K^{0}_{S}K^{0}_{S}π^{0}$ invariant mass spectrum deteriorates significantly. △ Less

We measure ${\mathcal{B}(B^+ \rightarrow π^+ π^0) = (6.12 \pm 0.53 \pm 0.53)\times 10^{-6}}$, ${\mathcal{B}(B^+ \rightarrow K^+ π^0) = (14.30 \pm 0.69 \pm 0.79)\times 10^{-6}}$, ${\mathcal{A}_{\it CP}(B^+ \rightarrow π^+ π^0) = -0.085 \pm 0.085 \pm 0.019}$, and ${\mathcal{A}_{\it CP}(B^+ \rightarrow K^+ π^0) = 0.014 \pm 0.047 \pm 0.010}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. Observation of $e^+e^-\toωχ_{bJ}(1P)$ and search for $X_b \to ωΥ(1S)$ at $\sqrt{s}$ near 10.75 GeV

Abstract: We study the processes $e^+e^-\toωχ_{bJ}(1P)$ ($J$ = 0, 1, or 2) using samples at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ = 10.701, 10.745, and 10.805 GeV, corresponding to 1.6, 9.8, and 4.7 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity, respectively. These data were collected with the Belle II detector during special operations of the SuperKEKB collider above the $Υ(4S)$ resonance. We report the first observatio… ▽ More We study the processes $e^+e^-\toωχ_{bJ}(1P)$ ($J$ = 0, 1, or 2) using samples at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ = 10.701, 10.745, and 10.805 GeV, corresponding to 1.6, 9.8, and 4.7 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity, respectively. These data were collected with the Belle II detector during special operations of the SuperKEKB collider above the $Υ(4S)$ resonance. We report the first observation of $ωχ_{bJ}(1P)$ signals at $\sqrt{s}$ = 10.745 GeV. By combining Belle II data with Belle results at $\sqrt{s}$ = 10.867 GeV, we find energy dependencies of the Born cross sections for $e^+e^-\to ωχ_{b1,b2}(1P)$ to be consistent with the shape of the $Υ(10753)$ state. These data indicate that the internal structures of the $Υ(10753)$ and $Υ(10860)$ states may differ. Including data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 10.653 GeV, we also search for the bottomonium equivalent of the $X(3872)$ state decaying into $ωΥ(1S)$. Abstract: Using a data sample of $(448.1 \pm 2.9)\times10^6 ~ψ(3686)$ decays collected at an $e^+ e^-$ center-of-mass energy of $3.686~\rm{GeV}$ by the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we report an observation of the hindered electromagnetic Dalitz decay $ψ(3686) \to e^+ e^- η_c$ with a significance of $7.9σ$. This measurement is an update of an earlier study exploiting additional tagging modes, including several decay modes involving a $K^0_L$ meson. The branching fractions of the $K^0_L$ modes are determined as input to the analysis in a manner that is independent of any strong phase uncertainty. Using the predominantly $C\!P$-even tag $D\to π^+π^-π^0$ and the ensemble of $C\!P$-odd eigenstate tags, the observable ${\cal A}_{Kπ}^{πππ^0}$ is measured to be $0.130 \pm 0.012 \pm 0.008$. The two asymmetries are sensitive to $r_D^{Kπ} \cos δ_D^{Kπ}$, where $r_D^{Kπ}$ and $δ_D^{Kπ}$ are the ratio of amplitudes and phase difference, respectively, between the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed and Cabibbo-favoured decays. In addition, events containing $D \to K^-π^+$ tagged by $D \to K^0_{S,L} π^+π^-$ are studied in bins of phase space of the three-body decays. This analysis has sensitivity to both $r_D^{Kπ} \cos δ_D^{Kπ}$ and $r_D^{Kπ} \sin δ_D^{Kπ}$. A fit to ${\cal A}_{Kπ}$, ${\cal A}_{Kπ}^{πππ^0}$ and the phase-space distribution of the $D \to K^0_{S,L} π^+π^-$ tags yields $δ_D^{Kπ}= \left( 187.6 {^{+8.9}_{-9.7}}{^{+5.4}_{-6.4}} \right)$ degrees, where external constraints are applied for $r_D^{Kπ}$ and other relevant parameters. Combining with the world-average value of $\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛπ^{+})$, we obtain $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛK^+)=(6.21\pm0.44\pm0.26\pm0.34)\times 10^{-4}$. Here the first uncertainties are statistical, the second systematic, and the third comes from the uncertainty of the $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛπ^{+}$ branching fraction. This result, which is more precise than previous measurements, does not agree with theoretical predictions, and suggests that non-factorizable contributions have been under-estimated in current models. △ Less

The first resonance we observe has a mass of (4373.1 $\pm$ 4.0 $\pm$ 2.2) MeV/$c^2$ and a width of (146.5 $\pm$ 7.4 $\pm$ 1.3) MeV, in agreement with those of the $Y(4390)$ state; the other resonance has a mass of (4706 $\pm$ 11 $\pm$ 4) MeV/$c^2$, a width of (45 $\pm$ 28 $\pm$ 9) MeV, and a statistical significance of $4.1$ standard deviations ($σ$). This is the first evidence for a vector state at this mass value. The spin-$3$ $D$-wave charmonium state $X(3842)$ is searched for through the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}X(3842)\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}D^{+}D^{-}$ process, and evidence with a significance of $4.2σ$ is found in the data samples with center-of-mass energies from 4.600 to 4.700 GeV. △ Less

Abstract: The singly Cabibbo suppressed decay $Λ^{+}_{c}\to pη^{\prime}$ is measured using 4.5 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.600 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. A partial wave analysis of $ψ(3686)\toΛ\barΛη$ shows that the peak around $Λη$ invariant mass threshold favors a $Λ^*$ resonance with mass and width in agreement with the $Λ(1670)$. The branching fraction of the decay is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λe^+ν_e)=(3.56\pm0.11_{\rm stat.}\pm0.07_{\rm syst.})\%$, which is the most precise measurement to date. Furthermore, we perform an investigation of the internal dynamics in $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λe^+ν_e$. We provide the first direct comparisons of the differential decay rate and form factors with those predicted from lattice quantum chromodynamics (LQCD) calculations. Combining the measured branching fraction with a $q^2$-integrated rate predicted by LQCD, we determine $|V_{cs}|=0.936\pm0.017_{\mathcal{B}}\pm0.024_{\rm LQCD}\pm0.007_{τ_{Λ_c}}$. △ Less

The $Λ_c^+\rightarrow pK^-e^+ν_e$ decay is observed with a significance of $8.2σ$ and the branching fraction is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\rightarrow pK^- e^+ν_e)=(0.88\pm0.17_{\rm stat.}\pm0.07_{\rm syst.})\times 10^{-3}$. We also report evidence of $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ(1520)e^+ν_e$ and $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ(1405)e^+ν_e$ with significances of $3.3σ$ and $3.2σ$, respectively, and measure $\mathcal B(Λ^+_c\rightarrow Λ(1520)e^+ν_e)=(1.02\pm0.52_{\rm stat.}\pm0.11_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal B(Λ^+_c\rightarrow Λ(1405)[\rightarrow pK^-]e^+ν_e)=(0.42\pm0.19_{\rm stat.}\pm0.04_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-3}$. Combining these with the inclusive semileptonic $Λ_c^+$ branching fraction measured by BESIII, the relative fraction is determined to be $[\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\rightarrow pK^-e^+ν_e)/\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\rightarrow X e^+ν_e)]=(2.1\pm0.4_{\rm stat.}\pm0.2_{\rm syst.})\%$, which provides a clear confirmation that semileptonic $Λ_c^+$ decays are not saturated by the $Λ\ell^+ν_{\ell}$ final state. △ Less

Abstract: The dark photon $A^\prime$ and the dark Higgs boson $h^\prime$ are hypothetical particles predicted in many dark sector models. We search for the simultaneous production of $A^\prime$ and $h^\prime$ in the dark Higgsstrahlung process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow A^\prime \, h^\prime$ with $A^\prime \rightarrow μ^+μ^-$ and $ h^\prime$ invisible in electron-positron collisions at a center-of-mass energy o… ▽ More The dark photon $A^\prime$ and the dark Higgs boson $h^\prime$ are hypothetical particles predicted in many dark sector models. We search for the simultaneous production of $A^\prime$ and $h^\prime$ in the dark Higgsstrahlung process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow A^\prime \, h^\prime$ with $A^\prime \rightarrow μ^+μ^-$ and $ h^\prime$ invisible in electron-positron collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV collected by the Belle II experiment in 2019. With an integrated luminosity of 8.34 fb$^{-1}$, we observe no evidence for signal. We obtain exclusion limits at 90% Bayesian credibility in the range of 1.7--5.0 fb on the cross section and in the range of $1.7 \times10^{-8}$--$200 \times10^{-8}$ on the effective coupling $\varepsilon^2 \times α_D$ for the $A^\prime$ mass in the range of 4.0 GeV/$c^2$ $< M_{A^\prime}< 9.7$ GeV/$c^2$ and for the $h^\prime$ mass $M_{h^\prime} < M_{A^\prime}$, where $\varepsilon$ is the mixing strength between the standard model and the dark photon and $α_D$ is the coupling of the dark photon to the dark Higgs boson. Abstract: We present a search for the lepton flavor violating decay $J/ψ\to e^{\pm}μ^{\mp}$ using $8.998\times 10^{9} J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII $e^+e^-$ storage ring. No excess of signal above background is observed; we therefore set an upper limit on the branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to e^{\pm}μ^{\mp})<4.5\times10^{-9}$ at the $90\%$ confidence level. Measurement of the total and leptonic decay widths of the $J/ψ$ resonance with an energy scan method at BESIII

Abstract: Using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sets collected with the BESIII detector, we measure the cross sections of the processes $e^+e^- \to e^+e^-$ and $e^+e^- \to μ^+μ^-$ at fifteen center-of-mass energy points in the vicinity of the $J/ψ$ resonance. By a simultaneous fit to the measured, center-of-mass energy dependent cross sections of the two processes, the combined quantities… ▽ More Using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sets collected with the BESIII detector, we measure the cross sections of the processes $e^+e^- \to e^+e^-$ and $e^+e^- \to μ^+μ^-$ at fifteen center-of-mass energy points in the vicinity of the $J/ψ$ resonance. By a simultaneous fit to the measured, center-of-mass energy dependent cross sections of the two processes, the combined quantities $Γ_{ee} Γ_{ee} / Γ_{\rm tot}$ and $Γ_{ee} Γ_{μμ} / Γ_{\rm tot}$ are determined to be ($0.346 \pm 0.009$) and ($0.335 \pm 0.006$) keV, respectively, where $Γ_{ee}$, $Γ_{μμ}$, and $Γ_{\rm tot}$ are the electronic, muonic, and total decay widths of the $J/ψ$ resonance, respectively. Using the resultant $Γ_{ee} Γ_{μμ} / Γ_{\rm tot}$ and $Γ_{ee} Γ_{ee} / Γ_{\rm tot}$, the ratio $Γ_{ee} / Γ_{μμ}$ is calculated to be $1.031 \pm 0.015$, which is consistent with the expectation of lepton universality within about two standard deviations. Assuming lepton universality and using the branching fraction of the $J/ψ$ leptonic decay measured by BESIII in 2013, $Γ_{\rm tot}$ and $Γ_{ll}$ are determined to be ($93.0 \pm 2.1$) and ($5.56 \pm 0.11$) keV, respectively, where $Γ_{ll}$ is the average leptonic decay width of the $J/ψ$ resonance. △ Less

We reconstruct $B^+\to ρ^+(\to π^+π^0(\to γγ))ρ^0(\to π^+π^-)$ decays in a sample of SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions collected by the Belle II experiment in 2019, 2020, and 2021 at the $Υ$(4S) resonance an… ▽ More We report on a Belle II measurement of the branching fraction ($\mathcal{B}$), longitudinal polarization fraction ($f_L$), and CP asymmetry ($\mathcal{A}_{CP}$) of $B^+\to ρ^+ρ^0$ decays. We reconstruct $B^+\to ρ^+(\to π^+π^0(\to γγ))ρ^0(\to π^+π^-)$ decays in a sample of SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions collected by the Belle II experiment in 2019, 2020, and 2021 at the $Υ$(4S) resonance and corresponding to 190 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. We fit the distributions of the difference between expected and observed $B$ candidate energy, continuum-suppression discriminant, dipion masses, and decay angles of the selected samples, to determine a signal yield of $345 \pm 31$ events. The signal yields are corrected for efficiencies determined from simulation and control data samples to obtain $\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to ρ^+ρ^0) = [23.2^{+\ 2.2}_{-\ 2.1} (\rm stat) \pm 2.7 (\rm syst)]\times 10^{-6}$, $f_L = 0.943 ^{+\ 0.035}_{-\ 0.033} (\rm stat)\pm 0.027(\rm syst)$, and $\mathcal{A}_{CP}=-0.069 \pm 0.068(\rm stat) \pm 0.060 (\rm syst)$. The results agree with previous measurements. This is the first measurement of $\mathcal{A}_{CP}$ in $B^+\to ρ^+ρ^0$ decays reported by Belle II. △ Less

The relative phase of the electric and magnetic form factors is determined to be $ΔΦ= (0.667 \pm 0.111 \pm 0.058)$ rad. This is the first measurement of the relative phase for a $ψ(3686)$ decay into a pair of $Ξ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$ hyperons. The $Ξ^{-}$ decay parameters ($α_{Ξ^{-}}$, $φ_{Ξ^-}$) and their conjugates ($α_{\barΞ^{+}}$, $φ_{\barΞ^{+}}$), the angular-distribution parameter $α_ψ$, and the strong-phase difference $δ_{p}-δ_{s}$ for $Λ$-$π^-$ scattering are measured to be consistent with previous BESIII results. △ Less
