Dynamics and non-integrability of the double spring pendulum
Abstract: This paper investigates the dynamics and integrability of the double spring pendulum, which has great importance in studying nonlinear dynamics, chaos, and bifurcations. Being a Hamiltonian system with three degrees of freedom, its analysis presents a significant challenge. To gain insight into the system's dynamics, we employ various numerical methods, including Lyapunov exponents spectra, phase-… ▽ More

Destructive relativity
Abstract: Relativistic Hamiltonian equations describing a motion of a point mass in an arbitrary homogeneous potential are considered. For the first time, the necessary integrability conditions for integrability in the Liouville sense for this class of systems are formulated. The geodesic flow of the BGPP metric is Liouville integrable
Abstract: We prove that the geodesics equations corresponding to the BGPP metric are integrable in the Liouville sense. Moreover, solutions of the reduced system and its degenerations can be solved explicitly or reduced to a certain quadrature. In degenerated cases BGPP metric coincides wit… ▽ More

A novel approach to the spectral problem in the two photon Rabi model
Abstract: We explore the spectral problem of the two photon Rabi model from the point of view of complex differential equations in the Bargmann representation. The wave-functions are automatically entire but to ensure finite norm one has to effectively construct asymptotic expansions. This is achieved by means of the Mellin transformation and convergent factorial series, which allow direct computation of th… ▽ More

Darboux Polynomials and First Integrals of Natural Polynomial Hamiltonian Systems
Abstract: We show that for a natural polynomial Hamiltonian system the existence of a single Darboux polynomial (a partial polynomial first integral) is equivalent to the existence of an additional first integral functionally independent with the Hamiltonian function. Moreover, we show that, in a case when the degree of potential is odd, the system does not admit any proper Darboux polynomial, i.e., the o… ▽ More

Non-integrability of the generalised spring-pendulum problem
Abstract: We investigate a generalisation of the three dimensional spring-pendulum system. The problem depends on two real parameters $(k,a)$, where $k$ is the Young modulus of the spring and $a$ describes the nonlinearity of elastic forces. We show that this system is not integrable when $k\neq -a$. We carefully investigated the case $k= -a$ when the necessary condition for integrability given by the Mor… ▽ More

Non-integrability of the problem of a rigid satellite in gravitational and magnetic fields
Abstract: In this paper we analyse the integrability of a dynamical system describing the rotational motion of a rigid satellite under the influence of gravitational and magnetic fields. In our investigations we apply an extension of the Ziglin theory developed by Morales-Ruiz and Ramis. We prove that for a symmetric satellite the system does not admit an additional real meromorphic first integral except… ▽ More

Where is the second planet in the HD 160691 planetary system?
Abstract: The set of radial velocity measurements of the HD 160691 has been recently published by Jones et.al 2002 (MNRAS). It reveals a linear trend that indicates a presence of the second planet in this system. The preliminary double-Keplerian orbital fit to the observations, announced by the discovery team, describes a highly unstable, self-disrupting configuration. Because the observational window of… ▽ More

The Janus head of the HD 12661 planetary system
Abstract: In this work we perform a global analysis of the radial velocity curve of the HD 12661 system. Orbital fits that are obtained by the genetic and gradient algorithms of minimization reveal the proximity of the system to the 6:1 mean motion resonance. The orbits are locked in the secular resonance with apsidal axes librating about 180 deg with the full amplitude $\simeq (90,180) deg$. Our solution… ▽ More

Improved timing formula for the PSR B1257+12 planetary system
Abstract: We present a new analysis of the dynamics of the planetary system around the pulsar B1257+12. A semi-analytical theory of perturbation between terrestrial-mass planets B and C is developed and applied to improve multi-orbit timing formula for this object. We use numerical simulations of the pulse arrival times for PSR B1257+12 to demonstrate that our new timing model can serve as a toll to deter… ▽ More

Frequency decomposition of astrometric signature of planetary systems
Abstract: We present theoretical analysis of the astrometric searches for extrasolar planets with the Space Interferometry Mission (SIM). Particularly, we derive a model for the future measurements with SIM and discuss the problem of reliable estimation of orbital elements of planets. For this purpose we propose a new method of data analysis and present a numerical test of its application on simulated SIM… ▽ More
