Computer network defence is a complicated task that has necessitated a high degree of human involvement. However, with recent advancements in machine learning, fully autonomous network defence is becoming increasingly plausible. This paper introduces an end-to-end methodology for studying attack strategies, designing defence agents and explaining their operation. First, using state diagrams, we visualise adversarial behaviour to gain insight about potential points of intervention and inform the design of our defensive models. We opt to use a set of deep reinforcement learning agents trained on different parts of the task and organised in a shallow hierarchy. Our evaluation shows that the resulting design achieves a substantial performance improvement compared to prior work. Finally, to better investigate the decision-making process of our agents, we complete our analysis with a feature ablation and importance study.

Abstract:
We present results of a 2014-2018 campaign of radial velocity measurements of $δ$ Ceti. Combining our determination of pulsation period with historical data we conclude that the most likely explanation of observed changes is the presence of a secondary component with a minimum mass of $1.10 \pm 0.05 M_{\odot}$ on an orbit with a period of $169 \pm 6$ years. Consequently, we revised the intrinsic, evolutionary period change rate to not larger than $0.018 \pm 0.004$ s/century, which is significantly lower than previous estimations and is consistent with evolutionary models of Neilson & Ignace (2015). We did not find any significant multiperiodic frequencies in radial velocity periodograms such as those reported by Aerts et al. (2006) in photometric data from MOST satellite. Using interferometric angular size of $δ$ Ceti from JMMC Stellar Diameters Catalogue we determined several physical parameters of the star with bolometric flux method. They turned out to be consistent with most previous deteminations, confirming lower mass and slower evolution of $δ$ Ceti than obtained using different methods by Aerts et al. (2006) and Neilson & Ignace (2015).

Antibiotics are the wonder discoveries to combat microbes. For decades, multiple varieties of antibiotics have been used for therapeutic purposes in hospital settings and communities throughout the world. Unfortunately, bacteria have become resistant to commonly prescribed antibiotics. This review aims to explore the development, challenges, and the current state of antibiotic resistance available literature in Malaysia. This review aims to explore the development, challenges, and the current state of antibiotic resistance available literature in Malaysia. This review reiterates the antibiotic resistance among the gram-negative bacteria is increasing and they are becoming resistant to nearly all groups of antibiotics. The antibiotic treatments are minimal and hard to treat in multi-drug resistance bacterial infection, resulting in morbidity and mortality. The prevalence rate of antibiotic resistance from the literature suggests that educating patients and the public is essential to prevent and control the spread of antibiotic resistance. In particular, there is an urgent need for a surveillance system of regular monitoring on the microbiomes, the discovery of novel antibiotics and therapeutic application of antibiotics are mandatory.

Abstract:
Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN) relevance reactions 3He(2H,γ)5Li, 3H(3He,γ)6Li, 5Li(n,γ)6Li as a key to approach for scenario of 6Li formation are treated. The rates of reaction for these processes are analyzed. Comparison of the reactions rates and the prevalence of light elements leads to the assumption that the two-step process 2H + 3He --> 5Li + γ and n + 5Li --> 6Li + γ can make a significant…

Comparison of the reactions rates and the prevalence of light elements leads to the assumption that the two-step process 2H + 3He --> 5Li + γ and n + 5Li --> 6Li + γ can make a significant contribution to the formation of 6Li at the BBN at least at temperatures T9 of the order of unity. Calculations of the total cross sections, astrophysical S-factor, and reaction rates have been performed for 3He(2H,γ)5Li radiative capture within the modified potential cluster model with forbidden states, which follow from the classification of the orbital cluster states according to Young diagrams. Numerical data and corresponding parametrizations cover the energy range up to 5 MeV and temperature range T9<10. An updated compilation of detailed data for the reaction 3He(2H,γ)5Li are presented.

Long gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have been linked to extreme core-collapse supernovae from massive stars. Gravitational waves (GW) offer a probe of the physics behind long GRBs. We investigate models of long-lived (~10-1000s) GW emission associated with the accretion disk of a collapsed star or with its protoneutron star remnant. Using data from LIGO's fifth science run, and GRB triggers from the swift experiment, we perform a search for unmodeled long-lived GW transients. Finding no evidence of GW emission, we place 90% confidence level upper limits on the GW fluence at Earth from long GRBs for three waveforms inspired by a model of GWs from accretion disk instabilities. These limits range from F<3.5 ergs cm^-2 to $F<1200 ergs cm^-2, depending on the GRB and on the model, allowing us to probe optimistic scenarios of GW production out to distances as far as ~33 Mpc. Advanced detectors are expected to achieve strain sensitivities 10x better than initial LIGO, potentially allowing us to probe the engines of the nearest long GRBs.

Blaster worm of 2003 is still persistent, the infection appears to have successfully transitioned to new hosts as the original systems are cleaned or shut off, suggesting that the Blaster worm, and other similar worms, will remain significant Internet threats for many years after their initial release. This paper is to propose technique on tracing the Blaster attack from various logs in different OSI layers based on fingerprint of Blaster attack on victim logs, attacker logs and IDS alert log. The researchers intended to do a preliminary investigation upon this particular attack so that it can be used for further research in alert correlation and computer forensic investigation.
