Solitons have garnered significant attention across various fields, yet a contentious debate persists regarding the precise structure of solitons on indium chains. Currently, multiple forms of solitons in one-dimensional atomic chains have been reported. STM provides an effective means to study the precise atomic structure of solitons, particularly their dynamics and interactions. However, limited research has been conducted on soliton interactions and soliton-chain interactions, despite their profound impact on relative soliton motions and the overall physical properties of the system. In this work, we characterized the structures of the soliton dimer and trimer, observed the displacements induced by the soliton entity and statisticized the dynamic behaviors of soliton dimers over time evolution or temperature. To reveal the soliton mechanism, we further utilized STM to investigate the CDWs between two solitons when two monomers were encountered. Additionally, we achieved the manipulation of the monomer on the indium chain by the STM tip. Our work serves as an important approach to elucidate interactions in correlated electronic systems and advance the development of potential topological soliton computers.

Recent research has shown that transformer networks can be used as differentiable search indexes by representing each document as a sequences of document ID tokens. These generative retrieval models cast the retrieval problem to a document ID generation problem for each given query. Despite their elegant design, existing generative retrieval models only perform well on artificially-constructed and small-scale collections. This has led to serious skepticism in the research community on their real-world impact. This paper represents an important milestone in generative retrieval research by showing, for the first time, that generative retrieval models can be trained to perform effectively on large-scale standard retrieval benchmarks. For doing so, we propose RIPOR- an optimization framework for generative retrieval that can be adopted by any encoder-decoder architecture. RIPOR is designed based on two often-overlooked fundamental design considerations in generative retrieval. First, given the sequential decoding nature of document ID generation, assigning accurate relevance scores to documents based on the whole document ID sequence is not sufficient. To address this issue, RIPOR introduces a novel prefix-oriented ranking optimization algorithm. Second, initial document IDs should be constructed based on relevance associations between queries and documents, instead of the syntactic and semantic information in the documents. RIPOR addresses this issue using a relevance-based document ID construction approach that quantizes relevance-based representations learned for documents. Evaluation on MSMARCO and TREC Deep Learning Track reveals that RIPOR surpasses state-of-the-art generative retrieval models by a large margin (e.g., 30.5% MRR improvements on MS MARCO Dev Set), and perform better on par with popular dense retrieval models.

Large models have demonstrated significant progress across various domains, particularly in tasks related to text generation. In the domain of Table to Text, many Large Language Model (LLM)-based methods currently resort to modifying prompts to invoke public APIs, incurring potential costs and information leaks. With the advent of open-source large models, fine-tuning LLMs has become feasible. In this study, we conducted parameter-efficient fine-tuning on the LLaMA2 model. Distinguishing itself from previous fine-tuning-based table-to-text methods, our approach involves injecting reasoning information into the input by emphasizing table-specific row data. Our model consists of two modules: 1) a table reasoner that identifies relevant row evidence, and 2) a table summarizer that generates sentences based on the highlighted table. To facilitate this, we propose a search strategy to construct reasoning labels for training the table reasoner. On both the FetaQA and QTSumm datasets, our approach achieved state-of-the-art results. Additionally, we observed that highlighting input tables significantly enhances the model's performance and provides valuable interpretability.

Intelligent Reflecting Surface (IRS) utilizes low-cost, passive reflecting elements to enhance the passive beam gain, improve Wireless Energy Transfer (WET) efficiency, and enable its deployment for numerous Internet of Things (IoT) devices. However, the increasing number of IRS elements presents considerable channel estimation challenges. This is due to the lack of active Radio Frequency (RF) chains in an IRS, while pilot overhead becomes intolerable. To address this issue, we propose a Channel State Information (CSI)-free scheme that maximizes received energy in a specific direction and covers the entire space through phased beam rotation. Furthermore, we take into account the impact of an imperfect IRS and meticulously design the active precoder and IRS reflecting phase shift to mitigate its effects. Our proposed technique does not alter the existing IRS hardware architecture, allowing for easy implementation in the current system, and enabling access or removal of any Energy Receivers (ERs) without additional cost. Numerical results illustrate the efficacy of our CSI-free scheme in facilitating large-scale IRS without compromising performance due to excessive pilot overhead. Furthermore, our scheme outperforms the CSI-based counterpart in scenarios involving large-scale ERs, making it a promising solution in the era of IoT.

The absolute branching fraction of $Λ_c^+\to pπ^0$ is measured to be $(1.56^{+0.72}_{-0.58}\pm0.20)\times 10^{-4}$. Combining with the branching fraction of $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+$, $(6.6\pm1.3)\times10^{-4}$, the ratio of the branching fractions of $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+$ and $Λ_c^+\to pπ^0$ is calculated to be $3.2^{+2.2}_{-1.2}$. As an important input for the theoretical models describing the decay mechanisms of charmed baryons, our result indicates that the non-factorizable contributions play an essential role and their interference with the factorizable contributions should not be significant. In addition, the absolute branching fraction of $Λ_c^+\to pη$ is measured to be $(1.63\pm0.31_{\rm stat}\pm0.11_{\rm syst}) \times10^{-3}$.

Recognition and reasoning are two pillars of visual understanding. However, these tasks have an imbalance in focus; whereas recent advances in neural networks have shown strong empirical performance in visual recognition, there has been comparably much less success in solving visual reasoning. Intuitively, unifying these two tasks under a singular framework is desirable, as they are mutually dependent and beneficial. Motivated by the recent success of multi-task transformers for visual recognition and language understanding, we propose a unified neural architecture for visual recognition and reasoning with a generic interface (e.g., tokens) for both. Our framework enables the principled investigation of how different visual recognition tasks, datasets, and inductive biases can help enable spatiotemporal reasoning capabilities. Noticeably, we find that object detection, which requires spatial localization of individual objects, is the most beneficial recognition task for reasoning. We further demonstrate via probing that implicit object-centric representations emerge automatically inside our framework. Intriguingly, we discover that certain architectural choices such as the backbone model of the visual encoder have a significant impact on visual reasoning, but little on object detection. Given the results of our experiments, we believe that visual reasoning should be considered as a first-class citizen alongside visual recognition, as they are strongly correlated but benefit from potentially different design choices.

We report investigations of the magnetic textures in periodic [Pt(1 nm)/(CoFeB(0.8 nm)/Ru(1.4 nm)]$_{10}$ multilayers using polarised neutron reflectometry (PNR) and small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). The multilayers are known to host skyrmions stabilized by Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions induced by broken inversion symmetry and spin-orbit coupling at the asymmetric interfaces. From depth-dependent PNR measurements, we observe well-defined structural features, and obtain the layer-resolved magnetization profiles. The in-plane magnetization of the CoFeB layers calculated from fitting of the PNR profiles is found to be in excellent agreement with magnetometry data. Using SANS as a bulk probe of the entire multilayer, we observe long-period magnetic stripe domains and skyrmion ensembles with full orientational disorder at room temperature. No sign of skyrmions is found below 250\,K, which we suggest is due to an increase of a effective magnetic anisotropy in the CoFeB layer on cooling that suppresses skyrmion stability. Using polarised SANS at room temperature, we prove the existence of pure Néel-type windings in both stripe domain and skyrmion regimes. No Bloch-type winding admixture, i.e. an indication for hybrid windings, is detected within the measurement sensitivity, in good agreement with expectations according to our micromagnetic modelling of the multilayers. Our findings using neutron techniques offer valuable microscopic insights into the rich magnetic behavior of skyrmion-hosting multilayers, which are essential for the advancement of future skyrmion-based spintronic devices.

Self-supervised learning has been actively studied in time series domain recently, especially for masked reconstruction. Most of these methods follow the "Pre-training + Fine-tuning" paradigm in which a new decoder replaces the pre-trained decoder to fit for a specific downstream task, leading to inconsistency of upstream and downstream tasks. In this paper, we first point out that the unification of task objectives and adaptation for task difficulty are critical for bridging the gap between time series masked reconstruction and forecasting. By reserving the pre-trained mask token during fine-tuning stage, the forecasting task can be taken as a special case of masked reconstruction, where the future values are masked and reconstructed based on history values. It guarantees the consistency of task objectives but there is still a gap in task difficulty. Because masked reconstruction can utilize contextual information while forecasting can only use historical information to reconstruct. To further mitigate the existed gap, we propose a simple yet effective prompt token tuning (PT-Tuning) paradigm, in which all pre-trained parameters are frozen and only a few trainable prompt tokens are added to extended mask tokens in element-wise manner. Extensive experiments on real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of our proposed paradigm with state-of-the-art performance compared to representation learning and end-to-end supervised forecasting methods.

In the evolving landscape of neural network models, one prominent challenge stand out: the significant memory overheads associated with training expansive models. Addressing this challenge, this study delves deep into the Rotated Tensor Parallelism (RTP). RTP is an innovative approach that strategically focuses on memory deduplication in distributed training environments. It boasts of unique features like a customized communication primitive and the Flyweight Pattern initialization. Furthermore, RTP ensures a seamless overlap between partition computation and partition weight communication, optimizing the training process. Our empirical evaluations underscore RTP's efficiency, revealing that its memory consumption during distributed system training is remarkably close to the optimal - distributing the memory overhead of a single machine equitably among multiple machines. The experimental results demonstrate that RTP is capable of achieving comparable performance to Distributed Data Parallel while providing support for significantly larger models with near-linear scalability in terms of memory. TGs are generated by crossing a pair of EUV pulses from a free electron laser (FEL) with the wavelength of 20.8\,nm matching the Co $M$-edge, resulting in a SAW wavelength of $Λ=44$\,nm. Using the pump-probe transient grating scheme in a reflection geometry the excited SAWs could be followed in the time range of -10 to 100\,ps in the thin film. Coherent generation of TGs by ultrafast EUV pulses allows to excite SAW in any material and to investigate their couplings to other dynamics such as spin waves and orbital dynamics. In contrast, we encountered challenges in detecting electronic and magnetic signals, potentially due to the dominance of the larger SAW signal and the weakened reflection signal from underlying layers. A potential solution for the latter challenge involves employing soft X-ray probes, albeit introducing additional complexities associated with the required grazing incidence geometry.

We propose a method to calculate the $q\bar{q}$ light front wave functions (LFWFs) of photon at low-virtuality, i.e., the light front amplitude of $γ^*\rightarrow q\bar{q}$ at low $Q^2$, based on a light front projection approach. We exemplify this method using a contact interaction model within Dyson-Schwinger equations formalism and obtain the nonperturbative photon $q\bar{q}$ LFWFs. In this case, we find the nonperturbative effects are encoded in the enhanced quark mass and a dressing function of covariant quark-photon vertex, as compared to the leading order quantum electrodynamics photon $q\bar{q}$ LFWFs. We then use nonperturbative-effect modified photon $q\bar{q}$ LFWFs to study the inclusive deep inelastic scattering HERA data in the framework of the color dipole model. The results demonstrate that the theoretical description of data at low $Q^2$ can be significantly improved once the nonperturbative corrections are included in the photon LFWFs.

Mapless navigation has emerged as a promising approach for enabling autonomous robots to navigate in environments where pre-existing maps may be inaccurate, outdated, or unavailable. In this work, we propose an image-based local representation of the environment immediately around a robot to parse navigability. We further develop a local planning and control framework, a Pareto-optimal mapless visual navigator (POVNav), to use this representation and enable autonomous navigation in various challenging and real-world environments. In POVNav, we choose a Pareto-optimal sub-goal in the image by evaluating all the navigable pixels, finding a safe visual path, and generating actions to follow the path using visual servo control. In addition to providing collision-free motion, our approach enables selective navigation behavior, such as restricting navigation to select terrain types, by only changing the navigability definition in the local representation. The ability of POVNav to navigate a robot to the goal using only a monocular camera without relying on a map makes it computationally light and easy to implement on various robotic platforms. Real-world experiments in diverse challenging environments, ranging from structured indoor environments to unstructured outdoor environments such as forest trails and roads after a heavy snowfall, using various image segmentation techniques demonstrate the remarkable efficacy of our proposed framework.

This paper presents a reconfigurable intelligent sensing surface (RISS) that combines passive and active elements to achieve simultaneous reflection and direction of arrival (DOA) estimation tasks. By utilizing DOA information from the RISS instead of conventional channel estimation, the pilot overhead is reduced and the RISS becomes independent of the hybrid access point (HAP), enabling efficient operation. Specifically, the RISS autonomously estimates the DOA of uplink signals from single-antenna users and reflects them using the HAP's slowly varying DOA information. During downlink transmission, it updates the HAP's DOA information and designs the reflection phase of energy signals based on the latest user DOA information. The paper includes a comprehensive performance analysis, covering system design, protocol details, receiving performance, and RISS deployment suggestions. We derive a closed-form expression to analyze system performance under DOA errors, and calculate the statistical distribution of user received energy using the moment-matching technique. We provide a recommended transmit power to meet a specified outage probability and energy threshold. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed system outperforms the conventional counterpart by 2.3 dB and 4.7 dB for Rician factors $κ_h=κ_G=1$ and $κ_h=κ_G=10$, respectively.

The Internet is going through a massive infrastructural revolution with the advent of low-flying satellite networks, 5/6G, WiFi7, and hollow-core fiber deployments. While these networks could unleash enhanced connectivity and new capabilities, it is critical to understand the performance characteristics to efficiently drive applications over them. Low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite mega-constellations like SpaceX Starlink aim to offer broad coverage and low latencies at the expense of high orbital dynamics leading to continuous latency changes and frequent satellite hand-offs. This paper aims to quantify Starlink's latency and its variations and components using a real testbed spanning multiple latitudes from the North to the South of Europe. We identify tail latencies as a problem. We develop predictors for latency and throughput and show their utility in improving application performance by up to 25%. We also explore how transport protocols can be optimized for LEO networks and show that this can improve throughput by up to 115% (with only a 5% increase in latency). Also, our measurement testbed with a footprint across multiple locations offers unique trigger-based scheduling capabilities that are necessary to quantify the impact of LEO dynamics.

The measured cross sections of the process $e^+e^-\toηπ^+π^-$ are systematically higher than those of BaBar by more than $3σ$ at center-of-mass energies between 2.000 and 2.300 GeV. In the cross section lineshape for $e^+e^-\to a_2(1320)π$, a resonant structure is observed with a significance of $5.5σ$, with $M=(2044\pm31\pm4)$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ=(163\pm69\pm24)$ MeV and $\mathcal{B_{R}}\cdotΓ_{e^+e^-}^{R}=(34.6\pm17.1\pm6.0)$ eV or $(137.1\pm73.3\pm2.1)$ eV. In the cross section lineshape for $e^+e^-\toρη$, an evidence of a dip structure around 2180 MeV/$c^2$ is observed with statistical significance of $3.0σ$.

The complex conductivity of YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{7-δ}$ samples representing the optimally doped, the underdoped and the overdoped stoichiometry was measured using time-domain terahertz spectroscopy. In the normal state, the frequency dependence is described by the Drude model. Below the critical temperature $T_\mathrm{c}$, the two-fluid model was successfully employed to fit all the spectra, from 5 K up to $T_\mathrm{c}$. The temperature behaviour of fundamental parameters such as the scattering time $τ$, the superfluid fraction $f_\mathrm{s}$ and the conductivity $σ$ was investigated at given frequencies. The real part of the conductivity $σ_1(T)$ exhibits a coherence-like peak at low frequencies, which slightly shifts with increasing frequency whereas its height decreases. It can be observed for all three stoichiometries and its exact shape depends on the quality of the sample. A further analysis shows that this peak is a consequence of the competition between the scattering time $τ(T)$ and the superfluid fraction $f_\mathrm{s}(T)$. The decrease of the superfluid fraction towards $T_\mathrm{c}$ depends on the reduced temperature with a power law close to 2, suggesting a dirty d-wave superconductor case for all levels of do**.

In this paper, we present CCEdit, a versatile generative video editing framework based on diffusion models. Our approach employs a novel trident network structure that separates structure and appearance control, ensuring precise and creative editing capabilities. Utilizing the foundational ControlNet architecture, we maintain the structural integrity of the video during editing. The incorporation of an additional appearance branch enables users to exert fine-grained control over the edited key frame. These two side branches seamlessly integrate into the main branch, which is constructed upon existing text-to-image (T2I) generation models, through learnable temporal layers. The versatility of our framework is demonstrated through a diverse range of choices in both structure representations and personalized T2I models, as well as the option to provide the edited key frame. To facilitate comprehensive evaluation, we introduce the BalanceCC benchmark dataset, comprising 100 videos and 4 target prompts for each video. Our extensive user studies compare CCEdit with eight state-of-the-art video editing methods. The outcomes demonstrate CCEdit's substantial superiority over all other methods.

3D perception based on the representations learned from multi-camera bird's-eye-view (BEV) is trending as cameras are cost-effective for mass production in autonomous driving industry. However, there exists a distinct performance gap between multi-camera BEV and LiDAR based 3D object detection. One key reason is that LiDAR captures accurate depth and other geometry measurements, while it is notoriously challenging to infer such 3D information from merely image input. In this work, we propose to boost the representation learning of a multi-camera BEV based student detector by training it to imitate the features of a well-trained LiDAR based teacher detector. We propose effective balancing strategy to enforce the student to focus on learning the crucial features from the teacher, and generalize knowledge transfer to multi-scale layers with temporal fusion. We conduct extensive evaluations on multiple representative models of multi-camera BEV. Experiments reveal that our approach renders significant improvement over the student models, leading to the state-of-the-art performance on the popular benchmark nuScenes.

The product branching fraction $\mathcal{B}\left(ψ(3686) \rightarrow γη_{c}(2 S)\right) \times \mathcal{B}(η_{c}(2 S) \rightarrow K \bar{K} π)$ is determined to be $(0.97 \pm 0.06 (\rm {stat}) \pm 0.09 (\rm {syst})) \times 10^{-5}$. Using $\mathcal{BR}(η_{c}(2S)\to K\bar{K}π)=(1.86^{+0.68}_{-0.49})\%$, we obtain the branching fraction of the radiative transition to be $\mathcal{BR}(ψ(3686) \to γη_{c}(2S)) = (5.2 \pm 0.3 (\rm {stat}) \pm 0.5 (\rm {syst}) ^{+1.9}_{-1.4} (extr)) \times 10^{-4}$, where the third uncertainty is due to the quoted $\mathcal{BR}(η_{c}(2S) \to K\bar{K}π)$.

The precisions of $α_0$ for $Λ\to nπ^0$ and $\barα_0$ for $\barΛ \to \bar{n}π^0$ compared to world averages are improved by factors of 4 and 1.7, respectively. The ratio of decay asymmetry parameters of $Λ\to nπ^0$ to that of $Λ\to pπ^-$, $\langle α_0 \rangle/ \langle α_{Λ-} \rangle $, is determined to be $ 0.873 \pm 0.012^{+0.011}_{-0.010}$, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The ratio is smaller than unity more than $5σ$, which signifies the existence of the $ΔI = 3/2$ transition in $Λ$ for the first time. Beside, we test for CP violation in $Ξ^- \to Λπ^-$ and in $Λ\to n π^{0}$ with the best precision to date.

The Born cross section lineshape of the process $e^{+}e^{-}\to K^{*}(892)^{0}\bar{K}^{0}$ is consistent with a vector meson state around 2.2 GeV with a significance of 3.2$σ$. Recently, regularization model-driven deep learning (DL) has gained significant attention due to its ability to leverage the potent representational capabilities of DL while retaining the theoretical guarantees of regularization models. However, most of these methods are tailored for supervised learning scenarios that necessitate fully sampled labels, which can pose challenges in practical MRI applications. To tackle this challenge, we propose a self-supervised DL approach for accelerated MRI that is theoretically guaranteed and does not rely on fully sampled labels. Specifically, we achieve neural network structure regularization by exploiting the inherent structural low-rankness of the $k$-space data. Simultaneously, we constrain the network structure to resemble a nonexpansive map**, ensuring the network's convergence to a fixed point. Thanks to this well-defined network structure, this fixed point can completely reconstruct the missing $k$-space data based on matrix completion theory, even in situations where full-sampled labels are unavailable. Experiments validate the effectiveness of our proposed method and demonstrate its superiority over existing self-supervised approaches and traditional regularization methods, achieving performance comparable to that of supervised learning methods in certain scenarios.

Conventional silicon bipolars are not suitable for low-temperature operation due to the deterioration of current gain ($β$). In this paper, we characterize lateral bipolar junction transistors (LBJTs) fabricated on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) wafers down to liquid helium temperature (4 K). The positive SOI substrate bias could greatly increase the collector current and have a negligible effect on the base current, which significantly alleviates $β$ degradation at low temperatures. We present a physical-based compact LBJT model for 4 K simulation, in which the collector current ($\textit{I}_\textbf{C}$) consists of the tunneling current and the additional current component near the buried oxide (BOX)/silicon interface caused by the substrate modulation effect. This model is able to fit the Gummel characteristics of LBJTs very well and has promising applications in amplifier circuits simulation for silicon-based qubits signals.

Recently, data-driven techniques have demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in addressing challenges related to MR imaging inverse problems. However, these methods still exhibit certain limitations in terms of interpretability and robustness. In response, we introduce Convex Latent-Optimized Adversarial Regularizers (CLEAR), a novel and interpretable data-driven paradigm. CLEAR represents a fusion of deep learning (DL) and variational regularization. Specifically, we employ a latent optimization technique to adversarially train an input convex neural network, and its set of minima can fully represent the real data manifold. We utilize it as a convex regularizer to formulate a CLEAR-informed variational regularization model that guides the solution of the imaging inverse problem on the real data manifold. Leveraging its inherent convexity, we have established the convergence of the projected subgradient descent algorithm for the CLEAR-informed regularization model. This convergence guarantees the attainment of a unique solution to the imaging inverse problem, subject to certain assumptions. Furthermore, we have demonstrated the robustness of our CLEAR-informed model, explicitly showcasing its capacity to achieve stable reconstruction even in the presence of measurement interference. Finally, we illustrate the superiority of our approach using MRI reconstruction as an example. Our method consistently outperforms conventional data-driven techniques and traditional regularization approaches, excelling in both reconstruction quality and robustness.

Learning based on multimodal data has attracted increasing interest recently. While a variety of sensory modalities can be collected for training, not all of them are always available in development scenarios, which raises the challenge to infer with incomplete modality. To address this issue, this paper presents a one-stage modality distillation framework that unifies the privileged knowledge transfer and modality information fusion into a single optimization procedure via multi-task learning. Compared with the conventional modality distillation that performs them independently, this helps to capture the valuable representation that can assist the final model inference directly. Specifically, we propose the joint adaptation network for the modality transfer task to preserve the privileged information. This addresses the representation heterogeneity caused by input discrepancy via the joint distribution adaptation. Then, we introduce the cross translation network for the modality fusion task to aggregate the restored and available modality features. It leverages the parameters-sharing strategy to capture the cross-modal cues explicitly. Extensive experiments on RGB-D classification and segmentation tasks demonstrate the proposed multimodal inheritance framework can overcome the problem of incomplete modality input in various scenes and achieve state-of-the-art performance.

In this paper, we study the 2D free boundary incompressible Euler equations with surface tension, where the fluid domain is periodic in $x_1$, and has finite depth. We construct initial data with a flat free boundary and arbitrarily small velocity, such that the gradient of vorticity grows at least double-exponentially for all times during the lifespan of the associated solution. This work generalizes the celebrated result by Kiselev--{Š}ver{á}k to the free boundary setting. The free boundary introduces some major challenges in the proof due to the deformation of the fluid domain and the fact that the velocity field cannot be reconstructed from the vorticity using the Biot-Savart law. We overcome these issues by deriving uniform-in-time control on the free boundary and obtaining pointwise estimates on an approximate Biot-Savart law.

Hydrous and nominally anhydrous minerals (NAMs) are a fundamental class of solids of enormous significance to geophysics. They are the water carriers in the deep geological water cycle and impact structural, elastic, plastic, and thermodynamic properties and phase relations in Earth's forming aggregates (rocks). They play a critical role in the geochemical and geophysical processes that shape the planet. Their complexity has prevented predictive calculations of their properties, but progress in materials simulations ushered by machine learning potentials is transforming this state of affairs. Here, we adopt a hybrid approach that combines deep learning potentials (DP) with the SCAN meta-GGA functional to simulate a prototypical hydrous system. We illustrate the success of this approach to simulate $δ$-AlOOH ($δ$), a phase capable of transporting water down to near the core-mantle boundary of the Earth (~2,900 km depth and ~135 GPa) in subducting slabs. A high-throughput sampling of phase space using molecular dynamics simulations with DP-potentials sheds light on the hydrogen-bond behavior and proton diffusion at geophysical conditions. These simulations provide a pathway for a deeper understanding of these crucial components that shape Earth's internal state.

This is the first observation of a Cabibbo-suppressed $Λ_{c}^{+}$ decay involving $Σ^-$ in the final state. The ratio of branching fractions between $Λ_{c}^{+}\to Σ^{-}K^{+}π^{+}$ and the Cabibbo-favored decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\to Σ^- π^+π^+$ is calculated to be $(0.4 \pm 0.1)s_{c}^{2}$, where $s_{c} \equiv \sinθ_c = 0.2248$ with $θ_c$ the Cabibbo mixing angle. This ratio significantly deviates from $1.0s_{c}^{2}$ and provides important information for the understanding of nonfactorization contributions in $Λ_{c}^{+}$ decays.

One of the fundamental goals of particle physics is to gain microscopic understanding of the strong interaction. Electromagnetic form factors quantify the structure of hadrons in terms of charge and magnetization distributions. While the nucleon structure has been investigated extensively, data on hyperons is still scarce. It has recently been demonstrated that electron-positron annihilations into hyperon-antihyperon pairs provide a powerful tools to investigate their inner structure. We present a novel method useful for hyperon-antihyperon pairs of different types which exploits the cross section enhancement due to the vacuum polarization effect at the $J/ψ$ resonance. Using the 10 billion $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, this allows a thorough determination of the hyperon structure . The result is essentially a precise snapshot of a $\barΛΣ^0$~($Λ\barΣ^0$) pair in the making, encoded in the form factor ratio and the phase. Their values are measured to be $R = 0.860\pm0.029({\rm stat.})\pm0.010({\rm syst.})$, $ΔΦ_1=(1.011\pm0.094({\rm stat.})\pm0.010({\rm syst.}))~\rm rad$ for $\barΛΣ^0$ and $ΔΦ_2=(2.128\pm0.094({\rm stat.})\pm0.010({\rm syst.}))~\rm rad$ for $Λ\barΣ^0$, respectively. Furthermore, charge-parity (CP) breaking is investigated for the first time in this reaction and found to be consistent with CP symmetry.

The corresponding decay asymmetry is measured for the first time to be $α_{Ξ^{0}K^{+}}=0.01\pm0.16({\rm stat.})\pm0.03({\rm syst.})$. This result reflects the non-interference effect between the $S$- and $P$-wave amplitudes. The phase shift between $S$- and $P$-wave amplitudes has two solutions, which are $δ_{p}-δ_{s}=-1.55\pm0.25({\rm stat.})\pm0.05({\rm syst.})~\text{rad}$ or $1.59\pm0.25({\rm stat.})\pm0.05({\rm syst.})~\text{rad}$.

Video outpainting aims to adequately complete missing areas at the edges of video frames. Compared to image outpainting, it presents an additional challenge as the model should maintain the temporal consistency of the filled area. In this paper, we introduce a masked 3D diffusion model for video outpainting. We use the technique of mask modeling to train the 3D diffusion model. This allows us to use multiple guide frames to connect the results of multiple video clip inferences, thus ensuring temporal consistency and reducing jitter between adjacent frames. Meanwhile, we extract the global frames of the video as prompts and guide the model to obtain information other than the current video clip using cross-attention. We also introduce a hybrid coarse-to-fine inference pipeline to alleviate the artifact accumulation problem. The existing coarse-to-fine pipeline only uses the infilling strategy, which brings degradation because the time interval of the sparse frames is too large. Our pipeline benefits from bidirectional learning of the mask modeling and thus can employ a hybrid strategy of infilling and interpolation when generating sparse frames. Experiments show that our method achieves state-of-the-art results in video outpainting tasks. More results and codes are provided at our https://fanfanda.github.io/M3DDM/.

The lineshape mass parameter is obtained to be $M_{X}=(3871.63\pm 0.13^{+0.06}_{-0.05})$ MeV. Two poles are found on the first and second Riemann sheets corresponding to the $D^{*0}\bar{D}^0$ branch cut. The pole location on the first sheet is much closer to the $D^{*0}\bar{D}^0$ threshold than the other, and is determined to be $7.04\pm0.15^{+0.07}_{-0.08}$ MeV above the $D^0\bar{D}^0π^0$ threshold with an imaginary part $-0.19\pm0.08^{+0.14}_{-0.19}$ MeV.

A new resonance with a mass of $M = 4708_{-15}^{+17}\pm21$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and a width of $Γ= 126_{-23}^{+27}\pm30$ MeV is observed in the energy-dependent line shape of the $e^+e^-\to K^+K^-J/ψ$ cross section with a significance over $5σ$. The $K^{+}J/ψ$ system is also investigated to search for charged charmoniumlike states, but no significant $Z_{cs}^+$ states are observed. Upper limits on the Born cross sections for $e^+e^-\to K^{-} Z_{cs}(3985)^{+}/K^{-} Z_{cs}(4000)^{+} + c.c.$ with $Z_{cs}(3985)^{\pm}/Z_{cs}(4000)^{\pm}\to K^{\pm} J/ψ$ are reported at 90\% confidence levels. The ratio of branching fractions $\frac{\mathcal{B}(Z_{cs}(3985)^{+}\to K^+ J/ψ)}{\mathcal{B}(Z_{cs}(3985)^{+}\to (\bar{D}^{0}D_s^{*+} + \bar{D}^{*0}D_s^+))}$ is measured to be less than 0.03 at 90\% confidence level.

With the surging popularity of approximate near-neighbor search (ANNS), driven by advances in neural representation learning, the ability to serve queries accompanied by a set of constraints has become an area of intense interest. While the community has recently proposed several algorithms for constrained ANNS, almost all of these methods focus on integration with graph-based indexes, the predominant class of algorithms achieving state-of-the-art performance in latency-recall tradeoffs. In this work, we take a different approach and focus on develo** a constrained ANNS algorithm via space partitioning as opposed to graphs. To that end, we introduce Constrained Approximate Partitioned Search (CAPS), an index for ANNS with filters via space partitions that not only retains the benefits of a partition-based algorithm but also outperforms state-of-the-art graph-based constrained search techniques in recall-latency tradeoffs, with only 10% of the index size.

Document pre-trained models and grid-based models have proven to be very effective on various tasks in Document AI. However, for the document layout analysis (DLA) task, existing document pre-trained models, even those pre-trained in a multi-modal fashion, usually rely on either textual features or visual features. Grid-based models for DLA are multi-modality but largely neglect the effect of pre-training. To fully leverage multi-modal information and exploit pre-training techniques to learn better representation for DLA, in this paper, we present VGT, a two-stream Vision Grid Transformer, in which Grid Transformer (GiT) is proposed and pre-trained for 2D token-level and segment-level semantic understanding. Furthermore, a new dataset named D$^4$LA, which is so far the most diverse and detailed manually-annotated benchmark for document layout analysis, is curated and released. Experiment results have illustrated that the proposed VGT model achieves new state-of-the-art results on DLA tasks, e.g. PubLayNet ($95.7\%$$\rightarrow$$96.2\%$), DocBank ($79.6\%$$\rightarrow$$84.1\%$), and D$^4$LA ($67.7\%$$\rightarrow$$68.8\%$). The code and models as well as the D$^4$LA dataset will be made publicly available ~\url{https://github.com/AlibabaResearch/AdvancedLiterateMachinery}.
