Sulfur and nitrogen dual doped graphene have been extensively investigated in the field of oxygen reduction reaction, supercapacitors and batteries, but their magnetic and absorption performance have not been explored. Besides, the effects of do** sequence of sulfur and nitrogen atoms on the morphology, structural property and the corresponding microwave absorption performance of the dual doped graphene remain unexplored. In this work, nitrogen and sulfur dual doped graphene with different do** sequence were successfully prepared using a controllable two steps facile thermal treatment method. The first do** process played a decisive role on the morphology, crystal size, interlayer distance, do** degree and ultimately magnetic and microwave absorption properties of the dual doped graphene samples. Meanwhile, the second do** step affected the do** sites and further had a repairing or damaging effect on the final doped graphene. The dual doped graphene samples exhibited two pronounced absorption peaks which intensity was decided by the order of the do** elements. This nitrogen and sulfur dual doped graphene with controlled do** order provides a strategy for understanding of the interaction between nitrogen and sulfur as dual dopants in graphene and further acquiring microwave absorbing materials with tunable absorption bands by varying the do** sequence.

A new multi-wavelength solar telescope, Optical and Near-infrared Solar Eruption Tracer (ONSET) of Nan**g University, was constructed, being fabricated by Nan**g Institute of Astronomical Optics & Technology and run in cooperation with Yunnan Astronomical Observatory. ONSET is able to observe the Sun in three wavelength windows: He {\small I} 10830 Å, H$α$, and white-light at 3600 Åand 4250 Å, which are selected in order to obtain the dynamics in the corona, chromosphere, and the photosphere simultaneously. Full-disk or partial-disk solar images with a field of 10 arcmin at three wavelengths can be obtained nearly simultaneously. It is designed to trace solar eruptions with high spatial and temporal resolutions. This telescope was installed at a new solar observing site near Fuxian Lake in Yunnan Province, southwest China. The site is located at E102N24, with an altitude of 1722 m. The seeing is stable and of high quality. We give a brief description of the scientific objectives and the basic structure of the ONSET. Some preliminary results are also presented.

The temperature dependence of the specific heat and spin susceptibility of the spin ladders with cyclic four-spin interactions in the rung-singlet phase is explored by making use of the transfer-matrix renormalization group method. The values of spin gap are extracted from the specific heat and susceptibility, respectively. It is found that for different relative strength between interchain and intrachain interactions, the spin gap is approximately linear with the cyclic four-spin interaction in the region far away from the critical point. Furthermore, we show that the dispersion for the one-triplet magnon branch can be obtained by numerically fitting on the partition function.

Thermodynamic quantities of the systems (temperature dependence of the susceptibility and the specific heat), as well as the field dependence of the magnetization are analyzed numerically with a high accuracy in the thermodynamic limit. The results have been compared with the recent experimental data on Rb$_2$Cu$_{2}$Mo$_{3}$O$_{12}$.

Abstract:
The localization length and density of states of carbon nanotubes are evaluated within the tight-binding approximation. By comparison with the corresponding results for the square lattice tubes, it is found that the hexagonal structure affects strongly the behaviors of the density of states and localization lengths of carbon nanotubes.

Thermodynamic properties of a tetrameric bond-alternating Heisenberg spin chain with ferromagnetic-ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic exchange interactions are studied using the transfer-matrix renormalization group and compared to experimental measurements. The temperature dependence of the uniform susceptibility exhibits typical ferrimagnetic features. Both the uniform and staggered magnetic susceptibilities diverge in the limit $T\to 0$, indicating that the ground state has both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic long-range orders. A double-peak structure appears in the temperature dependence of the specific heat. Our numerical calculation gives a good account for the temperature and field dependence of the susceptibility, the magnetization, and the specific heat for Cu(3-Clpy)$_{2}$(N$_{3}$)$_{2}$ (3-Clpy=3-Chloroyridine).

A strong nonmagnetic impurity can induce a resonance state in the d-wave superconducting state. As far as magnetic properties are concerned, this resonance state behaves effectively like a free moment. It leads to a Curie-Weiss-like magnetic susceptibility in an intermediate temperature regime below $T_{c}$. From the impurity susceptibility, the effective moment of the resonance state is deduced and compared with experiments. The contribution of the resonance to the magnetic susceptibility can account for the main feature of the NMR spectra in overdoped high-$T_c$ materials. In the underdoped regime, the contribution from the resonance to the magnetic susceptibility is also substantial, but the effective moment of the resonance is smaller than the total moment induced by a nonmagnetic impurity.

Physical effects of bilayer coupling on the tunneling spectroscopy of high T$_{c}$ cuprates are investigated. The bilayer coupling separates the bonding and antibonding bands and leads to a splitting of the coherence peaks in the tunneling differential conductance. However, the coherence peak of the bonding band is strongly suppressed and broadened by the particle-hole asymmetry in the density of states and finite quasiparticle life-time, and is difficult to resolve by experiments. This gives a qualitative account why the bilayer splitting of the coherence peaks was not clearly observed in tunneling measurements of double-layer high-T$_c$ oxides.
