The investigation asymptotic limits on associated data mainly focused on limit theorems of summands of associated data and on the related invariance principles. In a series of papers, we are going to set the general frame of the theory by considering an arbitrary infinitely decomposable (divisible) limit law for summands and study the associated functional laws converging to Lévy processes. The asymptotic frame of Newman (1980) is still used as a main tool. Detailed results are given when $G$ is a Gaussian law (as confirmation of known results) and when $G$ is a Poisson law. In the later case, classical results for independent and identically distributed data are extended to stationary and non-stationary associated data.

Abstract:
The simple Lévy Poisson process and scaled forms are explicitly constructed from partial sums of independent and identically distributed random variables and from sums of non-stationary independent random variables. For the latter, the weak limits are scaled Poisson processes. The method proposed here prepares generalizations to dependent data, to associated data in the first place.

A version of such a result concerning sequences $(Y_n)_{n\geq 1}$ of negative binomial \textit{rv}'s also exists. In both cases, $X_n$ and $Y_n-n$ are by-row sums $S_n[X]$ and $S_n[Y]$ of arrays of Bernoulli \textit{rv}'s and corrected geometric \textit{rv}'s respectively. When considered in the general frame of asymptotic theorems of by-row sums of \textit{rv}'s of arrays, these two simple results in the independent and identically distributed scheme can be generalized to non-stationary data and beyond to non-stationary and dependent data. Further generalizations give interesting results that would not be found by direct methods. In this paper, we focus on generalizations to the non-stationary independent data. Extensions to dependent data will addressed later.

We introduce a new generalization of the Pseudo-Lindley distribution by applying alpha power transformation. The obtained distribution is referred as the Pseudo-Lindley alpha power transformed distribution (\textit{PL-APT}). Some tractable mathematical properties of the \textit{PL-APT} distribution as reliability, hazard rate, order statistics and entropies are provided. The maximum likelihood method is used to obtain the parameters' estimation of the \textit{PL-APT} distribution. The asymptotic properties of the proposed distribution are discussed. Also, a simulation study is performed to compare the modeling capability and flexibility of \textit{PL-APT} with Lindley and Pseudo-Lindley distributions. The \textit{PL-APT} provides a good fit as the Lindley and the Pseudo-Lindley distribution. The extremal domain of attraction of \textit{PL-APT} is found and its quantile and extremal quantile functions studied. Finally, the extremal value index is estimated by the double-indexed Hill's estimator (Ngom and Lo, 2016) and related asymptotic statistical tests are provided and characterized.

We focus on the moment estimation method in this paper. We use the instrumental tool of the functional empirical process (fep) in Lo (2016) to show how it is practical to derive, almost algebraically, the joint distribution Gaussian law and to derive omnibus chi-square asymptotic laws from it. We choose four distributions to illustrate the method (Gamma law, beta law, Uniform law and Fisher law) and completely describe the asymptotic laws of the moment estimators whenever possible. Simulations studies are performed to investigate for each case the smallest sizes for which the obtained statistical tests are recommendable. Generally, the omnibus chi-square test proposed here work fine with sample sizes around fifty

The rare results in the literature still present important flaws. This paper begins a new and complete investigation with a few number of records: 2 and 3. General Central limit theorem deals with weak limits (in type) of sums of row-elements of array random variables. In some situations as in the invariance principle problem, the sums may include only parts of the row-elements. For strictly stationary arrays (stationary for each row), there is no change to the asymptotic results. But for non-stationary data, especially for dependent data, asymptotic laws of partial sums moving in rows may require extra-conditions to exist. This paper deals with central limit theorems with Gaussian limits for non-stationary data. Our main focus is on dependent data, particularly on associated data. But the non-stationary independent data is also studied as a learning process. The results are applied to finite-distributional invariance principles for the types of data described above. In Moreover, results for associated sequences are interesting and innovative. Beyond their own interest, the results are expected to be applied for random sums of random variables and next in statistical modeling in many disciplines, in Actuarial sciences for example

Among the extensions of that to metric spaces, the version by Wichura (1970) seems to be the most fundamental. But the proof of Wichura seems to be destined to a very restricted public. We propose a more detailed proof to make it more accessible at the graduate level. However we do far more by simplifying it since important steps in the original proof are dropped, which leads to a direct proof that we hope to be more understandable to a larger spectrum of readers. The current version is more appropriate for different kinds of generalizations.

A great deal of such theory focused on \textit{iid} or independent real-valued random variables. There exists a few results for real-valued dependent random variables. Some papers deal also with multivariate random variables. But a large theory regarding vectors and dependent data has yet to be done. In preparation of that, the probability laws of records are investigated here, without any assumption on the dependence structure. The results are extended sequences with values in partially ordered spaces whose order is compatible with measurability. The general characterizations are checked in known cases mostly for \textit{iid} sequences. The frame is ready for undertaking a vast study of records theory in high dimensions and for types of dependence.

If not, such theories could not even be an option. In this paper, we give necessary and/or sufficient conditions for the finiteness of the number of records. We prove, for example for \textsl{iid} real valued random variable, that strong upper record values are finite if and only if the upper endpoint is finite and is an atom of the common cumulative distribution function. The only asymptotic study left to us concerns the infinite sequence of hitting times of that upper endpoints, which by the way, is the sequence of weak record times. The asymptotic characterizations are made using negative binomial random variables and the dimensional multinomial random variables. Asymptotic comparison in terms of consistency bounds and confidence intervals on the different sequences of hitting times are provide. The example of a binomial random variable is given

Left and right-continuous functions play an important role in Real analysis, especially in Measure Theory and Integration on the real line and in Stochastic processes indexed by a continuous real time. Semi-continuous functions are also of major interest in the same way. This paper aims at presenting a useful handling of semi-continuous function in parallel with the way left or right continuous functions are treated. For example, a lower or upper continuous function shares the property that it is measurable if it fails to be upper or lower continuous at most at a number of countable points with a left or right-continuous when it fails to be left or right-continuous at most at a number of countable points. As a final result, the comparison between the Riemann and the Lebesgue integrals on compact sets is done in a very comfortable and comprehensive way. The frame used here is open to more further sophistication

The univariate extreme value theory deals with the convergence in type of powers of elements of sequences of cumulative distribution functions on the real line when the power index gets infinite. In terms of convergence of random variables, this amounts to the the weak convergence, in the sense of probability measures weak convergence, of the partial maximas of a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables. In this monograph, this theory is comprehensively studied in the broad frame of weak convergence of random vectors as exposed in Lo et al.(2016). It has two main parts. The first is devoted to its nice mathematical foundation. Most of the materials of this part is taken from the most essential Loève(1936,177) and Haan (1970), based on the stunning theory of regular, pi or gamma variation. To prepare the statistical applications, a number contributions I made in my PhD and my Doctorate of Sciences are added in the last chapter of the last chapter of that part. Our real concern is to put these materials together with others, among them those of the authors from his PhD dissertations and Science doctorate thesis, in a way to have an almost full coverage of the theory on the real line that may serve as a master course of one semester in our universities. As well, it will help the second part of the monograph. This second part will deal with statistical estimations problems related to extreme values. It addresses various estimation questions and should be considered as the beginning of a survey study to be updated progressively. Research questions are tackled therein. Many results of the author, either unpublished or not sufficiently known, are stated and/or updated therein.

In the footsteps of the book \textit{Measure Theory and Integration By and For the Learner} of our series in Probability Theory and Statistics, we intended to devote a special volume of the very probabilistic aspects of the first cited theory. The book might have assigned the title : From Measure Theory and Integration to Probability Theory. The fundamental aspects of Probability Theory, as described by the keywords and phrases below, are presented, not from experiences as in the book \textit{A Course on Elementary Probability Theory}, but from a pure mathematical view based on Measure Theory. Such an approach places Probability Theory in its natural frame of Functional Analysis and constitutes a firm preparation to the study of Random Analysis and Stochastic processes. At the same time, it offers a solid basis towards Mathematical Statistics Theory. The book will be continuously updated and improved on a yearly basis.

In this research monograph, we deal with a very general asymptotic representation for statistics named GRI expressed in the functional empirical process, both one-dimensional and multidimensional, and another call residual empirical process. Most of statistics in form of combination of L-statistics are covered by the asymptotic theory dealt here. This treatise is conceived to be a kind of \textbf{spaceship} on which modules are hanged. The spaceship is a functional Gaussian process and each module is the asymptotic representation of one statistic in terms of that Gaussian process. In that way, it is possible to navigate from one module to another, that is, to find the joint distribution of any pair of statistics, to compare them with respect to the areas and the times. In order to be able to do so, we should have a broad conception at the beginning. Within the constructed frame, the asymptotic joint law of any finite number of other statistics is automatically given as well as the joint distribution of its spatial variation or temporal variation, in absolute or relative values. We also deal with the general problem of decomposability of statistics by comparing statistical decomposability, a new view we introduce, versus functional decomposability. A general result only based on the GRI is provided. \noindent This monograph is also the portal of a handbook of GRI that will cover the largest number possible of statistics. In prevision of that, we treat three important examples as show cases. It is expected that this portal and the handbook will attract the attention of researchers working in the asymptotic area and will furnish useful tools to scientists who are interested in application of asymptotic tests, completed by computer packages.

In order to curry out statistical inference, one often needs to estimate the available measures of inequality. Many estimators are available in the literature, the most used ones being the non parametric estimators. kpanzou(2011) has developed semi-parametric estimators for measures of inequality and showed that these are very appropriate especially for heavy tailed distributions. In this paper we apply such semi-parametric methods to a practical data set and show how they compare to the non parametric estimators. A guidance is also given on the choice of parametric distributions to fit in the tails of the data

We then propose a consistent estimator for this index in case the poverty line is a functional of the distribution. We also establish a uniform functional Central Limit Theorem for the proposed estimator over a suitable product class of real-valued functions. As a consequence, testing procedures based either on single or simultaneously several poverty indices can be developed. A simulation study showing the asymptotic normality of the estimator is given as well as an application to real data for estimating the effect of relative poverty lines on the variance of the poverty estimates.

Measure Theory and Integration is exposed with the clear aim to help beginning learners to perfectly master its essence. In opposition of a delivery of the contents in an academic and vertical course, the knowledge is broken into exercises which are left to the learners for solutions. Hints are present at any corner to help readers to achieve the solutions. In that way, the knowledge is constructed by the readers by summarizing the results of one or a group of exercises.
Each chapter is organized into Summary documents which contain the knowledge, Discovery documents which give the learner the opportunity to extract the knowledge himself through exercises and into Solution Documents which offer detailed answers for the exercises. Exceptionally, a few number of results (A key lemma related the justification of definition of the integral of a non-negative function, the Caratheodory's theorem and the Lebesgue-Stieljes measure on $\mathbb{R}^d$) are presented in appendix documents and given for reading in small groups.
The full theory is presented in the described way. We highly expect that any student who goes through the materials, alone or in a small group or under the supervision of an assistant will gain a very solid knowledge in the subject and by the way ensure a sound foundation for studying disciplines such as Probability Theory, Statistics, Functional Analysis, etc.
The materials have been successfully used as such in normal real analysis classes several times.

This book introduces to the theory of probabilities from the beginning. Assuming that the reader possesses the normal mathematical level acquired at the end of the secondary school, we aim to equip him with a solid basis in probability theory. The theory is preceded by a general chapter on counting methods. Then, the theory of probabilities is presented in a discrete framework. Two objectives are sought. The first is to give the reader the ability to solve a large number of problems related to probability theory, including application problems in a variety of disciplines. The second was to prepare the reader before he approached the manual on the mathematical foundations of probability theory. In this book, the reader will concentrate more on mathematical concepts, while in the present text, experimental frameworks are mostly found. If both objectives are met, the reader will have already acquired a definitive experience in problem-solving ability with the tools of probability theory and at the same time he is ready to move on to a theoretical course on probability theory based on the theory of measurement and integration. The book ends with a chapter that allows the reader to begin an intermediate course in mathematical statistics.

We study the empirical decomposition of poverty indicators. This property is very important and convenient in the context of the fight against poverty. Indeed, it makes it possible to put in place sectoral poverty reduction policies on the basis of a relevant stratification laid down at the outset. The simultaneous impacts of these policies, measured as reduction gains over the population as a whole, is then obtained by aggregating those obtained at each stratum by a relatively simple formula. It turns out that indicators as important as those of Sen and Shorrocks do not verify this property contrary to the elements of the class of Foster - Greer and Thorbecke. Given the data from the 1996 Senegalese Survey of Households (ESAM), we show that the lack of decomposability of these indicators on the income variable for several types of population stratification is practically zero , of the order of one to two per thousand. This makes it possible to use the decomposition of the Sen and Shorrocks indicators without any untoward consequences. An explanatory model of these results is presented for future research.

To this end, we first prove a uniform in bandwidth law of the iterated logarithm for the maximal deviation of this estimator from its expectation. We then show that, as n goes to infinity, the bias of the estimator converges to zero uniformly in the bandwidth h, varying over a suitable interval. A practical method of selecting the optimal bandwidth is also presented. Finally, we make conclusive simulation experiments showing the performance of the estimator in finite samples.

This monograph aims at presenting the core weak convergence theory for sequences of random vectors with values in $\mathbb{R}^k$. In some places, a more general formulation in metric spaces is provided. It lays out the necessary foundation that paves the way to applications in particular subfields of the theory. In particular, the needs of Asymptotic Statistics are addressed. A whole chapter is devoted to weak convergence in $\mathbb{R}$ where specific tools, for example for handling weak convergence of sequences using independent and indentically distributed random variables such that the Renyi's representations by means of standard uniform or exponential random variables, are stated. The function empirical process is presented as a powerful tool for solving a considerable number of asymptotic problems in Statistics. The aim of this paper is to establish the asymptotic behavior of the mutual influence of the Gini index and the poverty measures by using the Gaussian fields described in Mergane and Lo(2013). The results are given as representation theorems using the Gaussian fields of the unidimensional or the bidimensional functional Brownian bridges. Such representations, when combined with those already available, lead to joint asymptotic distributions with other statistics of interest like growth, welfare and inequality indices and then, unveil interesting results related to the mutual influence between them. The results are also appropriate for studying whether a growth is fair or not, depending on the variation of the inequality measure. Datadriven applications are also available. Although the variances may seem complicated at a first sight, their computations which are needed to get confidence intervals of the indices, are possible with the help of R codes we provide. Beyond the current results, the provided representations are useful in connection with different ones of other statistics.
