Bicrossproduct vs. twist quantum symmetries in noncommutative geometries: the case of $\varrho$-Minkowski
Abstract: We discuss the quantum Poincaré symmetries of the $\varrho$-Minkowski spacetime, a space characterised by an angular form of noncommutativity. We show that it is possible to give them both a bicrossproduct and a Drinfel'd twist structure. We also obtain a new noncommutative $\star$-product, which is cyclic with respect to the standard integral measure.

Tolerance Relations and Quantization
Abstract: It is well known that "bad" quotient spaces (typically: non-Hausdorff) can be studied by associating to them the groupoid C*-algebra of an equivalence relation, that in the "nice" cases is Morita equivalent to the C*-algebra of continuous functions vanishing at infinity on the quotient space. Matrix Models, Emergent Spacetime and Symmetry Breaking
Abstract: We discuss how a matrix model recently shown to describe emergent gravity may contain extra degrees of freedom which reproduce some characteristics of the standard model, in particular the breaking of symmetries and the correct quantum numbers of fermions.

Noncommutative gauge theory and symmetry breaking in matrix models
Abstract: We show how the fields and particles of the standard model can be naturally realized in noncommutative gauge theory. Starting with a Yang-Mills matrix model in more than 4 dimensions, a SU(n) gauge theory on a Moyal-Weyl space arises with all matter and fields in the adjoint of the gauge group. We show how this gauge symmetry can be broken spontaneously down to SU(3)_c x SU(2)_L x U(1)_Q (resp.… ▽ More

Bosonic Spectral Action Induced from Anomaly Cancelation
Abstract: We show how (a slight modification of) the noncommutative geometry bosonic spectral action can be obtained by the cancelation of the scale anomaly of the fermionic action. In this sense the standard model coupled with gravity is induced by the quantum nature of the fermions. The regularization used is very natural in noncommutative geometry and puts the bosonic and fermionic action on a similar… ▽ More

Star-product in the presence of a monopole
Abstract: We present a deformed star-product for a particle in the presence of a magnetic monopole. The product is obtained within a self-dual quantization-dequantization scheme, with the correspondence between classical observables and operators defined with the help of a quaternionic Hilbert space, following work by Emch and Jadczyk. The resulting product is well defined for a large class of complex fun… ▽ More
