Gauge-invariant magnetic charges in linearised gravity
Abstract: Linearised gravity has magnetic charges carried by (linearised) Kaluza-Klein monopoles. A gauge-invariant expression is found for these charges that is similar to Penrose's gauge-invariant expression for the ADM charges. A systematic search is made for other gauge-invariant charges.

Charges and topology in linearised gravity
Abstract: Covariant conserved 2-form currents for linearised gravity are constructed by contracting the linearised curvature with conformal Killing-Yano tensors. The corresponding conserved charges were originally introduced by Penrose and have recently been interpreted as the generators of generalised symmetries of the graviton. We introduce an off-shell refinement of these charges and find the relation be… ▽ More

Yano F structures and extended Supersymmetry in a BiLP
Abstract: In this paper we look at a sigma model based on the (4, 4) twisted chiral multiplet [3]. It admits two geometric descriptions: The ususal bi-quaternionic geometry on the tangent space and a new geometry involving two Yano F-structures on a doubled tangent space. This analysis sheds light on the recent discussion of semichiral models in [1] and on an upcoming discussion of complex linears.

Killing-Yano charges of asymptotically maximally symmetric black holes
Abstract: We construct an asymptotic conserved charge for a current that has been defined using Killing-Yano tensors. The new charges all turn out to be proportional to the angular momenta of their parent black holes.

A comment on Metric vs Metric-Affine Gravity
Abstract: We consider the sum of the Einstein-Hilbert action and a Pontryagin density (PD) in arbitrary even dimension $D$. All curvatures are functions of independent affine (torsionless) connections only. In arbitrary dimension, not only in $D=4n$, these first order PD terms are shown to be covariant divergences of "Chern-Simons" currents. Off-shell N=(4,4) supersymmetry for new (2,2) vector multiplets
Abstract: We discuss the conditions for extra supersymmetry of the N=(2,2) supersymmetric vector multiplets described in arXiv:0705.3201 [hep-th] and in arXiv:0808.1535 [hep-th]. We find (4,4) supersymmetry for the semichiral vector multiplet but not for the Large Vector Multiplet.

New supersymmetric sigma-model duality
Abstract: We study dualities in off-shell 4D N = 2 supersymmetric sigma-models, using the projective superspace approach. These include (i) duality between the real O(2n) and polar multiplets; and (ii) polar-polar duality. We demonstrate that the dual of any superconformal sigma-model is superconformal. Since N = 2 superconformal sigma-models (for which target spaces are hyperkahler cones) formulated in ter… ▽ More

Generalized Calabi-Yau metric and Generalized Monge-Ampere equation
Abstract: In the neighborhood of a regular point, generalized Kahler geometry admits a description in terms of a single real function, the generalized Kahler potential. We study the local conditions for a generalized Kahler manifold to be a generalized Calabi-Yau manifold and we derive a non-linear PDE that the generalized Kahler potential has to satisfy for this to be true. This non-linear PDE can be under… ▽ More

D=10 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory at alpha'^4
Abstract: The $α'^2$ deformation of D=10 SYM is the natural generalisation of the $F^4$ term in the abelian Born-Infeld theory. It is shown that this deformation can be extended to $α'^4$ in a way which is consistent with supersymmetry. The latter requires the presence of higher-derivative and commutator terms as well as the symmetrised trace of the Born-Infeld $α'^4$ term.

Sigma models with off-shell N=(4,4) supersymmetry and noncommuting complex structures
Abstract: We describe the conditions for extra supersymmetry in N=(2,2) supersymmetric nonlinear sigma models written in terms of semichiral superfields. We find that some of these models have additional off-shell supersymmetry. The (4,4) supersymmetry introduces geometrical structures on the target-space which are conveniently described in terms of Yano f-structures and Magri-Morosi concomitants. On-shel… ▽ More

New extended superconformal sigma models and Quaternion Kahler manifolds
Abstract: Quaternion Kahler manifolds are known to be the target spaces for matter hypermultiplets coupled to N=2 supergravity. It is also known that there is a one-to-one correspondence between 4n-dimensional quaternion Kahler manifolds and those 4(n+1)-dimensional hyperkahler spaces which are the target spaces for rigid superconformal hypermultiplets (such spaces are called hyperkahler cones). In this p… ▽ More

Geometry of the N=2 supersymmetric sigma model with Euclidean worldsheet
Abstract: We investigate the target space geometry of supersymmetric sigma models in two dimensions with Euclidean signature, and the conditions for N=2 supersymmetry. For a real action, the geometry for the N=2 model is not the generalized Kahler geometry that arises for Lorentzian signature, but is an interesting modification of this which is not a complex geometry.

On conformal supergravity and projective superspace
Abstract: The projective superspace formulation for four-dimensional N = 2 matter-coupled supergravity presented in arXiv:0805.4683 makes use of the variant superspace realization for the N = 2 Weyl multiplet in which the structure group is SL(2,C) x SU(2) and the super-Weyl transformations are generated by a covariantly chiral parameter. Pseudo-hyperkahler Geometry and Generalized Kahler Geometry
Abstract: We discuss the conditions for additional supersymmetry and twisted supersymmetry in N = (2, 2) supersymmetric non-linear sigma models described by one left and one right semi-chiral superfield and carrying a pair of non-commuting complex structures. Focus is on linear non-manifest transformations of these fields that have an algebra that closes off-shell. We find that additional linear supersymmet… ▽ More
