A radiation tolerant clock generator for the CMS Endcap Timing Layer readout chip
Abstract: We present the test results of a low jitter Phase Locked Loop (PLL) prototype chip for the CMS Endcap Timing Layer readout chip (ETROC). This chip is based on the improved version of a clock synthesis circuit named ljCDR from the Low-Power Gigabit Transceiver (lpGBT) project. The ljCDR is tested in its PLL mode. An automatic frequency calibration (AFC) block with the Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR… ▽ More

Revealing large-scale homogeneity and trace impurity sensitivity of GaAs nanoscale membranes
Abstract: III-V nanostructures have the potential to revolutionize optoelectronics and energy harvesting. For this to become a reality, critical issues such as reproducibility and sensitivity to defects should be resolved. By discussing the optical properties of MBE grown GaAs nanomembranes we highlight several features that bring them closer to large scale applications. Uncapped membranes exhibit a very hi… ▽ More

Two-connected graphs with prescribed three-connected components
Abstract: We adapt the classical 3-decomposition of any 2-connected graph to the case of simple graphs (no loops or multiple edges). By analogy with the block-cutpoint tree of a connected graph, we deduce from this decomposition a bicolored tree tc(g) associated with any 2-connected graph g, whose white vertices are the 3-components of g (3-connected components or polygons) and whose black vertices are bo… ▽ More

Generalized shuffles related to Nijenhuis and TD-algebras
Abstract: Shuffle and quasi-shuffle products are well-known in the mathematics literature. They are intimately related to Loday's dendriform algebras, and were extensively used to give explicit constructions of free commutative Rota-Baxter algebras. In the literature there exist at least two other Rota-Baxter type algebras, namely, the Nijenhuis algebra and the so-called TD-algebra. The explicit construct… ▽ More

Counting unlabelled toroidal graphs with no K33-subdivisions
Abstract: We provide a description of unlabelled enumeration techniques, with complete proofs, for graphs that can be canonically obtained by substituting 2-pole networks for the edges of core graphs. Using structure theorems for toroidal and projective-planar graphs containing no K33-subdivisions, we apply these techniques to obtain their unlabelled enumeration.

Characterization and enumeration of toroidal K_{3,3}-subdivision-free graphs
Abstract: We describe the structure of 2-connected non-planar toroidal graphs with no K_{3,3}-subdivisions, using an appropriate substitution of planar networks into the edges of certain graphs called toroidal cores. The structural result is based on a refinement of the algorithmic results for graphs containing a fixed K_5-subdivision in [A. Gagarin and W. Kocay, "Embedding graphs containing K_5-subdivisi… ▽ More

The structure and labelled enumeration of K_{3,3}-subdivision-free projective-planar graphs
Abstract: We consider the class F of 2-connected non-planar K_{3,3}-subdivision-free graphs that are embeddable in the projective plane. We show that these graphs admit a unique decomposition as a graph K_5 (the core) where the edges are replaced by two-pole networks constructed from 2-connected planar graphs. A method to enumerate these graphs in the labelled case is described. Moreover, we enumerate the… ▽ More

Enumeration of symmetry classes of convex polyominoes on the honeycomb lattice
Abstract: Hexagonal polyominoes are polyominoes on the honeycomb lattice. We enumerate the symmetry classes of convex hexagonal polyominoes. Here convexity is to be understood as convexity along the three main column directions. We deduce the generating series of free (i.e. up to reflection and rotation) and of asymmetric convex hexagonal polyominoes, according to area and half-perimeter. We give explicit… ▽ More

Enumerative problems inspired by Mayer's theory of cluster integrals
Abstract: The basic functional equations for connected and 2-connnected graphs can be traced back to the statistical physicists Mayer and Husimi. They play an essential role in establishing rigorously the virial expansion for imperfect gases. We survey this approach and inspired by these equations, we investigate the problem of enumerating some classes of connected graphs all of whose blocks are contained… ▽ More

Labelled and unlabelled enumeration of $k$-gonal 2-trees
Abstract: In this paper, we generalize 2-trees by replacing triangles by quadrilaterals, pentagons or $k$-sided polygons ($k$-gons), where $k\geq 3$ is fixed. This generalization, to $k$-gonal 2-trees, is natural and is closely related, in the planar case, to some specializations of the cell-growth problem. Our goal is the labelled and unlabelled enumeration of $k$-gonal 2-trees according to the number… ▽ More

Ennea-algebras
Abstract: We propose a generalisation of a recent work of M. Aguiar and J.-L. Loday on Quadri-algebras, called Ennea-algebras. In this second version, this paper has been extended. We show that the augmented free Ennea-algebra is a connected Hopf algebra and construct explicit formal deformations of dendriform dialgebras, quari-algebras and ennea-algebras via Baxter operators.

Tiling the (n^2,1)-De Bruijn graph with n coassociative coalgebras
Abstract: We construct via usual graph theory a class of associative dialgebras as well as a class of coassociative L-coalgebras. Tiling of the (n^2,1)-De bruijn graphs are also obtained and constructions of cubical trialgebras, (notion defined by J-L. Loday and M. Ronco) are given. We also obtain splitting of associative products into several ones.

Commutativity and the third Reidemeister movement
Abstract: In quantum information theory, for $a,b$ two positive operators living in $B(\mathcal{H})$, where $\mathcal{H}$ is a separable Hilbert space, the quantum fidelity is denoted by $a*b =(b^{1/2}ab^{1/2})^{1/2}$. One of the aim of this let ter is to interpret the quantum fidelity as an algebraic law. We remark that if $a,b,c$ are three positive operators whi ch commute pairwise, the law * becomes se… ▽ More

Enumeration of symmetry classes of convex polyominoes in the square lattice
Abstract: This paper concerns the enumeration of rotation-type and congruence-type convex polyominoes on the square lattice. These can be defined as orbits of the groups C4, of rotations, and D4, of symmetries of the square acting on (translation- type) polyominoes. In virtue of Burnside's Lemma, it is sufficient to enumerate the various symmetry classes (fixed points) of polyominoes defined by the elemen… ▽ More
