There are reasons to suggest that a number of mental disorders may be related to alteration in the neural complexity (NC). Thus, quantitative analysis of NC could be helpful in classifying mental conditions and clarifying our understanding about them. Here, we have worked with youths, typical and with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), whose neural complexity was assessed using q-statistics applied to the electroencephalogram (EEG). The EEG was recorded while subjects performed the visual Attention Network Test (ANT) based on the OddBall paradigm and during a shortpretask period of resting state. Time intervals of the EEG amplitudes that passed a threshold (signal regularity indicator) were collected from task and pretask signals from each subject. The data were satisfactorily fitted with a stretched $q$-exponential including a power-law prefactor(characterized by the exponent c), thus determining the best $(c, q)$ for each subject, indicative of their individual complexity. We found larger values of $q$ and $c$ in ADHD subjects as compared with the typical subjects both at task and pretask periods, the task values for both groups being larger than at rest. The $c$ parameter was highly specific in relation to DSM diagnosis for inattention, where well-defined clusters were observed. The parameter values were organized in four well-defined clusters in $(c, q)$-space. As expected, the tasks apparently induced greater complexity in neural functional states with likely greater amount of internal information processing. The results suggest that complexity is higher in ADHD subjects than in typical pairs. The distribution of values in the $(c, q)$-space derived from $q$-statistics seems to be a promising biomarker for ADHD diagnosis.

We introduce an open-source package eco2AI to help data scientists and researchers to track energy consumption and equivalent CO2 emissions of their models in a straightforward way. In eco2AI we put emphasis on accuracy of energy consumption tracking and correct regional CO2 emissions accounting. We encourage research community to search for new optimal Artificial Intelligence (AI) architectures with a lower computational cost. The motivation also comes from the concept of AI-based green house gases sequestrating cycle with both Sustainable AI and Green AI pathways.

The discovery of new catalysts is one of the significant topics of computational chemistry as it has the potential to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy sources. Recently developed deep learning approaches such as graph neural networks (GNNs) open new opportunity to significantly extend scope for modelling novel high-performance catalysts. Nevertheless, the graph representation of particular crystal structure is not a straightforward task due to the ambiguous connectivity schemes and numerous embeddings of nodes and edges. Here we present embedding improvement for GNN that has been modified by Voronoi tesselation and is able to predict the energy of catalytic systems within Open Catalyst Project dataset. Enrichment of the graph was calculated via Voronoi tessellation and the corresponding contact solid angles and types (direct or indirect) were considered as features of edges and Voronoi volumes were used as node characteristics. The auxiliary approach was enriching node representation by intrinsic atomic properties (electronegativity, period and group position). Proposed modifications allowed us to improve the mean absolute error of the original model and the final error equals to 651 meV per atom on the Open Catalyst Project dataset and 6 meV per atom on the intermetallics dataset. Also, by consideration of additional dataset, we show that a sensible choice of data can decrease the error to values above physically-based 20 meV per atom threshold.

In order to fulfill comparative assessment of research activities of the universities of Ukraine and Belarus the authors introduced a set of bibliometric indicators. A comparative assessment of the research activities of corresponding universities was fulfilled; the data on the leading universities are presented. The sensitivity of the one of the indicators to rapid changes of the research activity of universities and the fact that the other one is normalized across the fields of science condition advantage of the proposed set over the one that was used in practice of the corresponding national rankings.

This behavior is associated with the difference in spin relaxation rates of electrons precessing in the fluctuating fields of ionized or neutral Mn acceptors, respectively. For the latter the antiferromagnetic exchange interaction between a Mn ion and a bound hole results in a partial compensation of these fluctuating fields, leading to the enhanced spin memory.

Abstract:
We investigate a system of two weakly coupled oscillators. It is shown that an external periodic perturbation can lead to the capture into resonance. Asymptotic description and numerical simulations are presented. We have obtained the explicit formula for the threshold value for the amplitude of the perturbation that leads to the autoresonance.

We report a giant electric field induced increase of spin orientation of excitons in n-type GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well. It correlates strongly with the formation of negatively charged excitons (trions) in the photoluminescence spectra. Under resonant excitation of neutral heavy-hole excitons, the polarization of excitons and trions increases dramatically with electrical injection of electrons within the narrow exciton-trion bias transition in the PL spectra, implying a polarization sensitivity of 200 % per Volt. This effect results from a very efficient trap** of neutral excitons by the quantum well interfacial fluctuations (so-called "natural" quantum dots) containing resident electrons.

We report a large and unexpected suppression of the free electron spin relaxation in lightly-doped n-GaAs bulk crystals. The spin relaxation rate shows weak mobility dependence and saturates at a level 30 times less then that predicted by the Dyakonov-Perel theory. The dynamics of the spin-orbit field differs substantially from the usual scheme: although all the experimental data can be self-consistently interpreted as a precessional spin relaxation induced by a random spin-orbit field, the correlation time of this random field, surprisingly, is much shorter than, and is independent of, the momentum relaxation time determined from transport measurements. Understanding of this phenomenon could lead to high temperature engineering of the electron spin memory.
