Detector and Beamline Simulation for Next-Generation High Energy Physics Experiments
Abstract: The success of high energy physics programs relies heavily on accurate detector simulations and beam interaction modeling. The increasingly complex detector geometries and beam dynamics require sophisticated techniques in order to meet the demands of current and future experiments. Common software tools used today are unable to fully utilize modern computational resources, while data-recording rat… ▽ More

Mu2e-II: Muon to electron conversion with PIP-II
Abstract: An observation of Charged Lepton Flavor Violation (CLFV) would be unambiguous evidence for physics beyond the Standard Model. The Mu2e and COMET experiments, under construction, are designed to push the sensitivity to CLFV in the mu to e conversion process to unprecedented levels. Whether conversion is observed or not, there is a strong case to be made for further improving sensitivity, or for exa… ▽ More

Mu2e Technical Design Report
Abstract: The Mu2e experiment at Fermilab will search for charged lepton flavor violation via the coherent conversion process mu- N --> e- N with a sensitivity approximately four orders of magnitude better than the current world's best limits for this process. The experiment's sensitivity offers discovery potential over a wide array of new physics models and probes mass scales well beyond the reach of the L… ▽ More

Mu2e Conceptual Design Report
Abstract: Mu2e at Fermilab will search for charged lepton flavor violation via the coherent conversion process mu- N --> e- N with a sensitivity approximately four orders of magnitude better than the current world's best limits for this process. The Mu2e Experiment at Fermilab
Abstract: The Mu2e collaboration has proposed an experiment to search for the coherent, neutrino-less conversion of a muon into an electron in the Coulomb field of a nucleus with an expected sensitivity of $R_{μe}<6.0\times 10^{-17}$, at the 90% confidence level. Mu2e has received CD-0 approval from the US Department of Energy. If all resources are made available as required, the experiment could begin taki… ▽ More

Charmed Meson Spectroscopy
Abstract: In the two years since HQL02, the long sought $j_{\ell}=1/2$ states have been observed. In the charmed non-strange sector, these states have the expected properties but, in the charmed strange sector, the states have masses below threshold for the otherwise dominant decay modes, allowing their observation in suppressed modes. Improved measurements of the masses and widths of the well established… ▽ More

The BTeV Software Tutorial Suite
Abstract: The BTeV Collaboration is starting to develop its C++ based offline software suite, an integral part of which is a series of tutorials. These tutorials are targeted at a diverse audience, including new graduate students, experienced physicists with little or no C++ experience, those with just enough C++ to be dangerous, and experts who need only an overview of the available tools. The tutorials… ▽ More
