Invariant divisors and equivariant line bundles
Abstract: Scalar relative invariants play an important role in the theory of group actions on a manifold as their zero sets are invariant hypersurfaces. Relative invariants are central in many applications, where they often are treated locally since an invariant hypersurface may not be a locus of a single function. Our aim is to establish a global theory of relative invariants. For a Lie algebra… ▽ More

Realization of Lie superalgebras G(3) and F(4) as symmetries of supergeometries
Abstract: For every parabolic subgroup $P$ of a Lie supergroup $G$ the homogeneous superspace $G/P$ carries a $G$-invariant supergeometry. On integrability of certain rank 2 sub-Riemannian structures
Abstract: We discuss the integrability of rank 2 sub-Riemannian structures on low-dimensional manifolds, and then prove that some structures of that type in dimension 6, 7 and 8 have a lot of symmetry but no integrals polynomial in momenta of low degrees, except for those coming from the Killing fields and the Hamiltonian, thus indicating non-integrability of the corresponding geodesic flows.
Submitted 16 June, 2016; v1 submitted 11 July, 2015; originally announced July 2015.
Comments: In the second version we restructured the material, improved non-existence result in dimension 7 (to degree 6 using the modular approach), and updated references. We also refined the algorithm, and we attach the corresponding commented Maple file (together with PDF outputs of its work for several cases) as the supplement

Submaximally symmetric c-projective structures
Abstract: C-projective structures are analogues of projective structures in the complex setting. The maximal dimension of the Lie algebra of c-projective symmetries of a complex connection on an almost complex manifold of C-dimension $n>1$ is classically known to be $2n^2+4n$. We prove that the submaximal dimension is equal to $2n^2-2n+4+2δ_{3,n}$. If the complex connection is minimal (encoded as a normal p… ▽ More

Comments: The manuscript was updated and revised. This version corrects some errors in Section 4 that do not influence the main results. The exposition is also slightly polished

On the integrability in Grassmann geometries: integrable systems associated with fourfolds Gr(3, 5)
Abstract: We investigate dispersionless integrable systems in 3D associated with fourfolds in the Grassmannian Gr(3,5). Such systems appear in numerous applications in continuum mechanics, general relativity and differential geometry, and include such well-known examples as the dispersionless Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation, the Boyer-Finley equation, etc. We prove the equivalence of the four different appr… ▽ More

Comments: This is an elaborated version of the main part concerning dispersionless integrable systems in 3D, reflected in the title of the paper. We omitted the last two sections on systems in 4D and higher dimensional Monge-Ampere equations that will be expanded and posted in arXiv separately in the near future. These parts, as well as supplementary materials, are still accessible via arXiv:1503.02274v1

Differential Invariants and Symmetry: Riemannian metrics and beyond
Abstract: We discuss Lie-Tresse theorem for the pseudogroup of diffeomorphisms acting on the space of (pseudo-)Riemannian metrics, and relate this to existence of Killing vector fields. Then we discuss the impact of symmetry in the general case.

Integrable dispersionless PDE in 4D, their symmetry pseudogroups and deformations
Abstract: We study integrable non-degenerate Monge-Ampere equations of Hirota type in 4D and demonstrate that their symmetry algebras have a distinguished graded structure, uniquely determining the equations. This is used to deform these heavenly type equations into new integrable PDE of the second order with large symmetry pseudogroups. We classify the obtained symmetric deformations and discuss self-dual… ▽ More

Comments: This version is updated with an appendix about multi-component extensions of the integrable equations. Our deformations can be considered as reductions of such extensions (as they are reductions of the self-duality equation), but we stress that second order deformations carry the natural geometry which encodes integrability. We also expanded the introduction a bit

On the Einstein-Weyl and conformal self-duality equations
Abstract: The equations governing anti-self-dual and Einstein-Weyl conformal geometries can be regarded as `master dispersionless systems' in four and three dimensions respectively. Their integrability by twistor methods has been established by Penrose and Hitchin. In this note we present, in specially adapted coordinate systems, explicit forms of the corresponding equations and their Lax pairs. In particul… ▽ More
