B->gamma e nu Transitions from QCD Sum Rules
Abstract: B->gamma e nu transitions have recently been studied in the framework of QCD factorization. The attractiveness of this channel for such an analysis lies in the fact that, at least in the heavy quark limit, the only hadron involved is the B meson itself, so one expects a very simple description of the form factor in terms of a convolution of the B meson distribution amplitude with a perturbative… ▽ More

On supersymmetric contributions to the CP asymmetry of the B -> phi K_S
Abstract: We analyse the CP asymmetry of the B -> phi K_S process in general supersymmetric models. In the framework of the mass insertion approximation, we derive model independent limits for the mixing CP asymmetry. We show that chromomagnetic type of operator may play an important role in accounting for the deviation of the mixing CP asymmetry between B -> phi K_S and B -> J/psi K_S processes observed… ▽ More

B -> K eta(') decay in perturbative QCD
Abstract: We compute B->K eta' branching ratio using perturbative QCD approach. We show that a triangular relation among amplitudes for B^0->K^0 pi^0, B^0->K^0 eta, B^0->K^0 eta' receives large corrections from SU(3) breaking effects. If experimental value will come closer to the lower limit of the present BELLE data there will be a possibility to understand the large branching ratio of B^0->K^0 eta'. Oth… ▽ More

On the $η'$ Gluonic Admixture
Abstract: The $η'$ which is an $SU(3)_F$ singlet state can contain a pure gluon component, gluonium. We examine this possibility by analysing all available experimental data. It is pointed out that the $η'$ gluonic component may be as large as 26%. We also show that the amplitude for $J/ψ-> η'γ$ decay obtains a notable contribution from gluonium.

A more careful estimate of the charm content of eta'
Abstract: We estimate the quantity |f_eta'^(c)| which is associated with the charm content of eta' meson from the experimentally known ratio R=B(psi ->eta' gamma )/B(psi ->eta_c gamma). It is shown that due to the off-shellness of the c\bar c component of eta', which has been overlooked so far, f_eta'^(c) is further suppressed. Assuming that psi ->eta' gamma decay is dominated by psi ->eta_c transition, w… ▽ More

Possible large direct CP asymmetry in hadronic B+- -> π+- η' decays
Abstract: We calculate the branching ratio and direct CP asymmetry in nonleptonic two body B decays B^+- ->π^+- η'. It is shown that the tree diagram and gluon fusion mechanism via penguin diagram have comparable contributions to these decays which, as a result, could provide an interesting venue for investigating CP violation. Our estimate shows that the direct CP asymmetry in the above decays could be a… ▽ More

Nonperturbative QCD contribution to gluon-gluon-eta' vertex
Abstract: We investigate the momentum dependence of the g*-g-eta' vertex form factor in the presence of the nonperturbative QCD vacuum condensate. The behaviour of this form factor is crucial for, among other things, some proposed mechanisms devised to explain the large branching ratio for fast eta' production in charmless B decays observed by CLEO. We show that the leading momentum dependence of this ver… ▽ More

Non-spectator contributions to B->X_s eta'
Abstract: We propose a nonspectator mechanism in which eta' is produced by two gluon fusion as the underlying process to explain the inclusive B-> X_s eta' as well as the exclusive B -> K^(*) eta' decays.

Non-spectator contribution: A mechanism for inclusive B-> X_s eta' and exclusive B-> K(*) eta' decays
Abstract: We propose a mechanism which can explain the large BR(B-> X_s eta')~ 10^(-3) observed by CLEO. In this mechanism, eta' is produced by the fusion of two gluons, one from QCD penguin b->sg and the other one emitted by the light quark inside the B meson. The inclusive decay rate which is calculated via using the factorization assumption, can easily account for the observed branching ratio. We also… ▽ More

Intermediate psuedoscalar resonance contributions to B->X_s photon photon
Abstract: We calculate the decay rate B-> X_s photon photon via intermediate psuedoscalar charmonium eta_c. This process is thought to be the main long-distance contribution which dominates the corresponding inclusive rare B decay. We point out that once the momentum dependence of eta_c-> photon photon conversion strength, due to off-shellness of the intermediate eta_c, is taken into account, the rate of… ▽ More

Combined B->X_sψand B-> X_sη_c decays as a test of factorization
Abstract: We calculate the inclusive decays $B\to X_sψ$ and $B\to X_sη_c$ using factorization assumption. To investigate the bound state effect of the decaying B meson in these inclusive decays we take into account the motion of the $b$ quark using a Gaussian momentum distribution model. The resulting correction to free quark decay approximation is around 6% at most. Utilizing a potential model evaluation… ▽ More
