Entanglement preparation using symmetric multiports
Abstract: We investigate the entanglement produced by a multi-path interferometer that is composed of two symmetric multiports, with phase shifts applied to the output of the first multiport. Particular attention is paid to the case when we have a single photon entering the interferometer. For this situation we derive a simple condition that characterize the types of entanglement that one can generate. We t… ▽ More

Perfect state transfer in networks of arbitrary topology and coupling configuration
Abstract: A general formalism of the problem of perfect state transfer is presented. We show that there are infinitely many Hamiltonians which may provide solution to this problem. In a first attempt to give a classification of them we investigate their possible forms and the related dynamics during the transfer. Finally, we show how the present formalism can be used for the engineering of perfect quantum… ▽ More
