A global DGLAP analysis of nuclear PDFs
Abstract: In this talk, we shortly report results from our recent global DGLAP analysis of nuclear parton distributions. This is an extension of our former EKS98-analysis improved with an automated $χ^2$ minimization procedure and uncertainty estimates. Although our new analysis show no significant deviation from EKS98, a sign of a significantly stronger gluon shadowing could be seen in the RHIC BRAHMS da… ▽ More

Global reanalysis of nPDFs
Abstract: In this talk, we present the results from our recent global reanalysis of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs), where the DGLAP-evolving nPDFs are constrained by nuclear hard process data from deep inelastic $l+A$ scattering (DIS) and the Drell-Yan (DY) process in $p+A$ collisions, and by sum rules. The main improvements over our earlier work {\em EKS98} are the automated $χ^2$ minimiza… ▽ More

Global Analyses of Nuclear PDFs
Abstract: A brief overview of the global DGLAP analyses of the nuclear parton distribution functions is given. Although all the current global nPDF sets describe $R_{F_2}^A(x,Q^2)$ well in the large-$x$ region where the data exist, variations between their parton distributions can be substantial.

Enhanced charm hadroproduction due to nonlinear corrections to the DGLAP equations
Abstract: We have studied the effects of nonlinear scale evolution of the parton distribution functions to charm production in $pp$ collisions at center-of-mass energies of 5.5, 8.8 and 14 TeV. We find that the differential charm cross section can be enhanced up to a factor of 4-5 at low $p_T$. The enhancement is quite sensitive to the charm quark mass and the renormalization/factorization scales.

D meson enhancement in pp collisions at the LHC due to nonlinear gluon evolution
Abstract: When nonlinear effects on the gluon evolution are included with constraints from HERA, the gluon distribution in the free proton is enhanced at low momentum fractions, x < 0.01, and low scales, Q^2 < 10 GeV^2, relative to standard, DGLAP-evolved, gluon distributions. Consequently, such gluon distributions can enhance charm production in pp collisions at center of mass energy 14 TeV by up to a fa… ▽ More

Nonlinear corrections to the DGLAP equations in view of the HERA data

By requiring a good fit to the H1 data, we determine initial parton distributions at $Q_0^2=1.4$ GeV$^2$ for the nonlinear scale evolution. We show th… ▽ More

Constraints for nuclear gluon densities from DIS data
Abstract: The $Q^2$ dependence of the ratios of nuclear structure functions $F_2^A$ is studied by performing QCD evolution of nuclear parton distribution functions. The log $Q^2$ slope of these ratios is very sensitive to the nuclear gluon distribution function. Taking different parametrizations, we show that the NMC data on the $Q^2$ dependence of $F_2^{\rm Sn}/F_2^{\rm C}$ rule out the case where nuclea… ▽ More

Obtaining the nuclear gluon distribution from heavy quark decays to lepton pairs in p$A$ collisions
Abstract: We have studied how lepton pairs from decays of heavy-flavoured mesons produced in p$A$ collisions can be used to determine the modifications of the gluon distribution in the nucleus. Since heavy quark production is dominated by the $gg$ channel, the ratio of correlated lepton pair cross sections from $D\bar D$ and $B\bar B$ decays in p$A$ and pp collisions directly reflects the ratio… ▽ More

Constraints for the nuclear sea quark distributions from the Drell-Yan process at the SPS
Abstract: Nuclear modifications to the Drell-Yan dilepton production cross sections in p+A and A+A collisions in the leading twist approximation are caused by nuclear effects in the parton distributions of bound nucleons. For non-isoscalar nuclei, isospin corrections must also be considered. We calculate these effects for p+A and Pb+Pb collisions at CERN SPS energies. Our goal is to place constraints on n… ▽ More

Measurements of $F_2^A/F_2^D$ in deep inelastic $lA$ collisions, and Drell--Yan dilepton cross sections measured in $pA$ collisions are used as constraints. Abstract: The scale dependence of the ratios of parton distributions in a proton of a nucleus $A$ and in the free proton, $R_i^A(x,Q^2)=f_{i/A}(x,Q^2)/f_i(x,Q^2)$, is studied within the framework of the lowest order leading-twist DGLAP evolution.
