RoCK blocks for double covers of symmetric groups over a complete discrete valuation ring
Abstract: Recently the authors proved the existence of RoCK blocks for double covers of symmetric groups over an algebraically closed field of odd characteristic. In this paper we prove that these blocks lift to RoCK blocks over a suitably defined discrete valuation ring. Such a lift is even splendidly derived equivalent to its Brauer correspondent. Level, rank, and tensor growth of representations of symmetric groups
Abstract: We develop a theory of levels for irreducible representations of symmetric groups of degree $n$ analogous to the theory of levels for finite classical groups. Abstract: Recently, extensive efforts have been made on the application of expert system technique to solving the process planning task in the machining domain. This paper introduces a new formal method to design CAPP expert systems. The formal method is applied to provide a contour of the CAPP expert system building technology. Theoretical aspects of the formalism are described and illustrated by an exam… ▽ More

Schur-Weyl duality for higher levels
Abstract: We extend Schur-Weyl duality to an arbitrary level $l \geq 1$, the case $l=1$ recovering the classical duality between the symmetric and general linear groups. In general, the symmetric group is replaced by the degenerate cyclotomic Hecke algebra over $\C$ parametrized by a dominant weight of level $l$ for the root system of type $A_\infty$. As an application, we prove that the degenerate analog… ▽ More
