Measurements of Single Event Upset in ATLAS IBL
Abstract: Effects of Single Event Upsets (SEU) and Single Event Transients (SET) are studied in the FE-I4B chip of the innermost layer of the ATLAS pixel system. SEU/SET affect the FE-I4B Global Registers as well as the settings for the individual pixels, causing, among other things, occupancy losses, drops in the low voltage currents, noisy pixels, and silent pixels. Quantitative data analysis and simulati… ▽ More

Proceedings of the Sixth International Workshop on Multiple Partonic Interactions at the Large Hadron Collider
Abstract: Multiple Partonic Interactions are often crucial for interpreting results obtained at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The quest for a sound understanding of the dynamics behind MPI - particularly at this time when the LHC is due to start its "Run II" operations - has focused the aim of this workshop. MPI@LHC2014 concentrated mainly on the phenomenology of LHC measurements whilst kee** in perspe… ▽ More

Probing new physics in diphoton production with proton tagging at the Large Hadron Collider
Abstract: The sensitivities to anomalous quartic photon couplings at the Large Hadron Collider are estimated using diphoton production via photon fusion. The tagging of the protons proves to be a very powerful tool to suppress the background and unprecedented sensitivities down to $6 \cdot 10^{-15}$\gev$^{-4}$ are obtained, providing a new window on extra dimensions and strongly-interacting composite states… ▽ More

FPMC: a generator for forward physics
Abstract: We present the Forward Physics Monte Carlo (FPMC) designed to simulated central particle production with one or two leading intact protons and some hard scale in the event. The underlying interaction between protons or anti-protons through singlet exchange can manifest itself in many forms. The following production mechanisms are implemented: single diffractive dissociation, double pomeron exchang… ▽ More

Uncertainties on exclusive diffractive Higgs and jets production at the LHC
Abstract: Two theoretical descriptions of exclusive diffractive jets and Higgs production at the LHC were implemented into the FPMC generator: the Khoze, Martin, Ryskin model and the Cudell, Hernández, Ivanov, Dechambre exclusive model. We then study the uncertainties. We compare their predictions to the CDF measurement and discuss the possibility of constraining the exclusive Higgs production at the LHC wi… ▽ More

Gaps between jets in hadronic collisions
Abstract: We propose a model to describe diffractive events in hadron-hadron collisions where a rapidity gap is surrounded by two jets. The hard color-singlet object exchanged in the t-channel and responsible for the rapidity gap is described by the pQCD Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov Pomeron, including corrections due to next-to-leading logarithms. We allow the rapidity gap to be smaller than the inter-jet… ▽ More

Anomalous trilinear and quartic $WWγ$, $WWγγ$, $ZZγ$ and $ZZγγ$ couplings in photon induced processes at the LHC
Abstract: We first report on possible measurements at the LHC using the first data and a luminosity of 10 pb$^{-1}$ of $W$ and $Z$ pair production via two-photon exchange. This measurement allows in particular to increase the present sensitivity on $WWγγ$ and $ZZγγ$ quartic anomalous couplings from the LEP experiments by almost three orders of magnitude. Gaps between jets at hadron colliders in the next-to-leading BFKL framework
Abstract: We investigate diffractive events in hadron-hadron collisions, in which two jets are produced and separated by a large rapidity gap. In perturbative QCD, the hard color-singlet object exchanged in the t-channel, and responsible for the rapidity gap, is the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) Pomeron. Anomalous WW $γ$ coupling in photon-induced processes using forward detectors at the LHC
Abstract: We present a new method to test the Standard Model expectations at the LHC using photon-induced $WW$ production. Both $W$ decay in the main ATLAS or CMS detectors while scattered protons are measured in forward detectors. The sensitivity to anomalous $WWγ$ triple gauge coupling can be improved by more than a factor 5 or 30 compared to the present LEP or Tevatron sensitivity respectively.

Next-to-leading BFKL phenomenology of forward-jet cross sections at HERA
Abstract: We show that the forward-jet measurements performed at HERA allow for a detailed study of corrections due to next-to-leading logarithms (NLL) in the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) approach. While the description of the dσ/dx data shows small sensitivity to NLL-BFKL corrections, these can be tested by the triple differential cross section dσ/dxdk_T^2dQ^2 recently measured. These data can be… ▽ More

Next-leading BFKL effects in forward-jet production at HERA
Abstract: We show that next-leading logarithmic (NLL) Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) effects can be tested by the forward-jet cross sections recently measured at HERA. For dσ/dx, the NLL corrections are small which confirms the stability of the BFKL description. The triple differential cross section dσ/dxdk_T^2dQ^2 is sensitive to NLL effects and opens the way for an experimental test of the full BF… ▽ More
