Genus-zero $r$-spin theory
Abstract: We provide an explicit formula for all primary genus-zero $r$-spin invariants. Our formula is piecewise polynomial in the monodromies at each marked point and in $r$. To deduce the structure of these invariants, we use a tropical realization of the corresponding cohomological field theories. We observe that the collection of all WDVV relations is equivalent to the relations deduced from the fact t… ▽ More

Open FJRW Theory and Mirror Symmetry
Abstract: We construct an open enumerative theory for the Landau-Ginzburg (LG) model $(\mathbb{C}^2, μ_r\times μ_s, x^r+y^s)$. The invariants are defined as integrals of multisections of a Witten bundle with descendents over a moduli space that is a real orbifold with corners. In turn, a generating function for these open invariants yields the mirror LG model and a versal deformation of it with flat coordin… ▽ More

Mirror Symmetry for open r-spin invariants
Abstract: We show that a generating function for open $r$-spin enumerative invariants produces a universal unfolding of the polynomial $x^r$. Further, the coordinates parametrizing this universal unfolding are flat coordinates on the Frobenius manifold associated to the Landau-Ginzburg model $(\mathbb{C},x^r)$ via Saito-Givental theory. This result provides evidence for the same phenomenon to occur in highe… ▽ More

A maximally-graded invertible cubic threefold that does not admit a full exceptional collection of line bundles
Abstract: We show that there exists a cubic threefold defined by an invertible polynomial that, when quotiented by the maximal diagonal symmetry group, has a derived category which does not have a full exceptional collection consisting of line bundles. This provides a counterexample to a conjecture of Lekili and Ueda.

Exceptional Collections for Mirrors of Invertible Polynomials
Abstract: We prove the existence of a full exceptional collection for the derived category of equivariant matrix factorizations of an invertible polynomial with its maximal symmetry group. This proves a conjecture of Hirano--Ouchi. In the Gorenstein case, we also prove a stronger version of this conjecture due to Takahashi. Namely, that the full exceptional collection is strong.

Fano Schemes of Complete Intersections in Toric Varieties
Abstract: We study Fano schemes $F_k(X)$ for complete intersections $X$ in a projective toric variety $Y\subset \mathbb{P}^n$. Our strategy is to decompose $F_k(X)$ into closed subschemes based on the irreducible decomposition of $F_k(Y)$ as studied by Ilten and Zotine. We define the expected dimension for these subschemes, which always gives a lower bound on the actual dimension. Under additional assumptio… ▽ More

Dopant-free molecular hole transport material that mediates a 20% power conversion efficiency in a perovskite solar cell
Abstract: Organic molecular hole-transport materials (HTMs) are appealing for the scalable manufacture of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) because they are easier to reproducibly prepare in high purity than polymeric and inorganic HTMs. There is also a need to construct PSCs without dopants and additives to avoid formidable engineering and stability issues. We report here a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of… ▽ More

Hypergeometric decomposition of symmetric K3 quartic pencils
Abstract: We study the hypergeometric functions associated to five one-parameter deformations of Delsarte K3 quartic hypersurfaces in projective space. We compute all of their Picard--Fuchs differential equations; we count points using Gauss sums and rewrite this in terms of finite field hypergeometric sums; then we match up each differential equation to a factor of the zeta function, and we write this in t… ▽ More

Zeta functions of alternate mirror Calabi-Yau families
Abstract: We prove that if two Calabi-Yau invertible pencils have the same dual weights, then they share a common factor in their zeta functions. By using Dwork cohomology, we demonstrate that this common factor is related to a hypergeometric Picard--Fuchs differential equation. The factor in the zeta function is defined over the rationals and has degree at least the order of the Picard--Fuchs equation. As… ▽ More

Fractional Calabi-Yau Categories from Landau-Ginzburg Models
Abstract: We give criteria for the existence of a Serre functor on the derived category of a gauged Landau-Ginzburg model. This is used to provide a general theorem on the existence of an admissible (fractional) Calabi-Yau subcategory of a gauged Landau-Ginzburg model and a geometric context for crepant categorical resolutions. We explicitly describe our framework in the toric setting. As a consequence, we… ▽ More

Derived Categories of BHK Mirrors
Abstract: We prove a derived analogue to the results of Borisov, Clarke, Kelly, and Shoemaker on the birationality of Berglund-Hubsch-Krawitz mirrors. Heavily bootstrap** off work of Seidel and Sheridan, we obtain Homological Mirror Symmetry for Berglund-Hubsch-Krawitz mirror pencils to hypersurfaces in projective space.

Equivalences of Families of Stacky Toric Calabi-Yau Hypersurfaces
Abstract: Given the same anti-canonical linear system on two distinct toric varieties, we provide a derived equivalence between partial crepant resolutions of the corresponding stacky hypersurfaces. The applications include: a derived unification of toric mirror constructions, calculations of Picard lattices for linear systems of quartic surfaces, and a birational reduction of Reid's list to 81 families.

Proof of a Conjecture of Batyrev and Nill
Abstract: We prove equivalences of derived categories for the various mirrors in the Batyrev-Borisov construction. In particular, we obtain a positive answer to a conjecture of Batyrev and Nill. The proof involves passing to an associated category of singularities and toric variation of geometric invariant theory quotients.

Berglund-Hübsch-Krawitz Mirrors via Shioda Maps
Abstract: We give an elementary approach to proving the birationality of multiple Berglund-Hübsch-Krawitz (BHK) mirrors by using Shioda maps. We do this by creating a birational picture of the BHK correspondence in general. Although a similar result has been obtained in recent months by Shoemaker, our proof is new in that it sidesteps using toric geometry and drops an unnecessary hypothesis. We give an expl… ▽ More

Mirror Quintics, discrete symmetries and Shioda Maps
Abstract: In a recent paper, Doran, Greene and Judes considered one parameter families of quintic threefolds with finite symmetry groups. A surprising result was that each of these six families has the same Picard Fuchs equation associated to the holomorphic 3-form. In this paper we give an easy argument, involving the family of Mirror Quintics, which implies this result. Using a construction due to Shiod… ▽ More

The mixed-valent manganese [3 x 3] grid [Mn(III)4Mn(II)5(2poap-2H)6](ClO4)10.10H2O, a mesoscopic spin-1/2 cluster
Abstract: The magnetic susceptibility, and low-temperature magnetization curve, of the [3 x 3] grid [Mn(III)4Mn(II)5(2poap-2H)6](ClO4)10.10H2O is analyzed within a spin Hamiltonian approach. The Hilbert space is huge (4,860,000 states), but the consequent use of all symmetries and a two-step fitting procedure nevertheless allows the best-fit determination of the magnetic exchange parameters in this system… ▽ More
