A remark on the Half wave Schrödinger equation in the energy space

Abstract:
We investigate the Cauchy problem for the half wave Schrödinger equation in the energy space. We derive the local well-posedness in the energy space for the odd power type nonlinearities under certain additional assumption for the initial data, namely $\hat{u}_0 \in L^1_{ξ, η}(\mathbb{R}^2)$.

Ill-posedness for the Half wave Schrödinger equation
Authors:
Isao Kato
Abstract:
We study ill-posedness for the half wave Schrödinger equation introduced by Xu \cite{Xu}. Ill-posedness is obtained in the super-critical or at the critical space. The proof is based on the argument established by Christ, Colliander and Tao \cite{CCT1}. For the critical space, we use the standing wave solution, which was proved the existence by Bahri, Ibrahim and Kikuchi \cite{BIK}.

Charge-changing cross sections $σ_\mathrm{CC}$ for $^{42\textrm{--}51}$Ca on a carbon target at around 280~MeV/nucleon have been measured. The measured $σ_\mathrm{CC}$ values differ significantly from the previously developed calculations based on the Glauber model. However, through introduction of the charged-particle evaporation effect induced by the neutron-removal reaction in addition to the Glauber-model calculation, experimental $σ_\mathrm{CC}$ values on $^{12}$C at around 300~MeV/nucleon for nuclides from C to Fe isotopes are all reproduced with approximately 1\% accuracy. This proposed model systematically reproduces $σ_\mathrm{CC}$ data without phenomenological corrections, and can also explain experimental $σ_\mathrm{CC}$ values obtained in other energy regions.

Abstract:
A degenerate Zakharov system arises as a model for the description of laser-plasma interactions. It is a coupled system of a Schrödinger and a wave equation with a non-dispersive direction. In this paper, a new local well-posedness result for rough initial data is established. The proof is based on an efficient use of local smoothing and maximal function norms.

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to investigate well-posedness of the Cauchy problem for the degenerate Zakharov system. Local well-posedness holds for anisotropic Sobolev data by applying $U^2, V^2$ type spaces. We give the Schrödinger initial data $H^{s_k, s'}$ and the wave data $H^{s_l, s'}$ where $s_k > (d-1)/2, s_l > (d-2)/2, s_k - s_l = 1/2$ and $s' > 1/2$.

Interaction cross sections for $^{42\textrm{-}51}$Ca on a carbon target at 280 MeV/nucleon have been measured for the first time. The neutron number dependence of derived root-mean-square matter radii shows a significant increase beyond the neutron magic number $N=28$. Furthermore, this enhancement of matter radii is much larger than that of the previously measured charge radii, indicating a novel growth in neutron skin thickness. A simple examination based on the Fermi-type distribution, and the Mean-Field calculations point out that this anomalous enhancement of the nuclear size beyond $N=28$ results from an enlargement of the core by a sudden increase in the surface diffuseness of the neutron density distribution, which implies the swelling of the bare $^{48}$Ca core in Ca isotopes beyond $N=28$.

It seems difficult to get the crucial bilinear estimate only by applying the $U^2,\ V^2$ type spaces introduced by Koch-Tataru. To avoid the difficulty, we use an intersection space of $V^2$ type space and the space-time Lebesgue space $L^2_tL_x^{2d/(d-2)}$, which is related to the endpoint Strichartz estimate.

INGRID consists of 16 identical modules arranged in horizontal and vertical arrays around the beam center. The module has a sandwich structure of iron target plates and scintillator trackers. INGRID directly monitors the muon neutrino beam profile center and intensity using the number of observed neutrino events in each module. The neutrino beam direction is measured with accuracy better than 0.4 mrad from the measured profile center. The normalized event rate is measured with 4% precision.

Other goals of the experiment include various neutrino cross section measurements and sterile neutrino searches. The experiment uses an intense proton beam generated by the J-PARC accelerator in Tokai, Japan, and is composed of a neutrino beamline, a near detector complex (ND280), and a far detector (Super-Kamiokande) located 295 km away from J-PARC. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the instrumentation aspect of the T2K experiment and a summary of the vital information for each subsystem.

We present the results of indirect searches for Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) with 1679.6 live days of data from the Super-Kamiokande detector using neutrino-induced upward through-going muons. The search is performed by looking for an excess of high energy muon neutrinos from WIMP annihilations in the Sun, the core of the Earth, and the Galactic Center, as compared to the number expected from the atmospheric neutrino background. No statistically significant excess was seen. We calculate flux limits in various angular cones around each of the above celestial objects. We obtain conservative model-independent upper limits on WIMP-nucleon cross-section as a function of WIMP mass and compare these results with the corresponding results from direct dark matter detection experiments.

Authors:
I. Kato
Abstract:
This paper presents the results of oscillation analysis in K2K experiment. The results show indications of neutrino oscillation and give a new constraint on the oscillation parameters. The difference of neutrino masses squared $Δm^2$ lies between 1.5 and 3.9$\times10^{-3} {\rm eV}^2$ at $\sin^2 2θ=1$ with the confidence level of 90%. In addition to these results, a brief overview of future long-…

Abstract:
The effects of nonmagnetic Zn and magnetic Ni substitution for Cu site on magnetism are studied by measurements of uniform magnetic susceptibility for lightly doped La_{2-x}Sr_xCu_{1-z}M_zO_4 (M=Zn or Ni) polycrystalline samples. For the parent x=0, Zn do** suppresses the Néel temperature T_N whereas Ni do** hardly changes T_N up to z=0.3. For the lightly doped samples with T_N~0, the Ni dop…

For the lightly doped samples with T_N~0, the Ni do** recovers T_N. For the superconducting samples, the Ni do** induces the superconductivity-to-antiferromagnetic transition (or crossover). All the heavily Ni doped samples indicate a spin glass behavior at \~15 K.

Abstract:
A muon range detector (MRD) has been constructed as a near detector for the KEK-to-Kamioka long-baseline neutrino experiment (K2K). It monitors the neutrino beam properties at the near site by measuring the energy, angle and production point of muons produced by charged-current neutrino interaction. The detector has been working stably since the start of the K2K experiment.
