The $B^0 \to K^0_S K^+ K^- $ decay amplitude is derived within a quasi-two-body QCD factorization framework in terms of kaon form factors and $B^0$ to two-kaon-transition functions. The final state kaon-kaon interactions in the $S$, $P$, and $D$ waves are taken into account. The unitarity constraints are satisfied for the two kaons in scalar states. It is shown that with few terms of the full decay amplitude one may reach a fair agreement with the total branching fraction and Dalitz-plot projections published in 2010 by the Belle Collaboration and in 2012 by the $\textit{BABAR}$ Collaboration. With 13 free parameters, our model fits the corresponding 422 data with a $χ^2$ of 583.6 which leads to a $χ^2$ per degree of freedom equal to 1.43. The dominant branching fraction arises from the $f_0(K^+K^-) K^0_S$ mode with 83.0$\%$ of the total branching. The next important mode is dominated by $φK^0_S$ plus small $ωK^0_S$ and $ρ^0 K^0_S$ modes with 18.3$\%$ of the total. Then follows the $a_0^\pm K^\mp$ mode with 6.2$\%$. Adding the other smaller modes, the total percentage sum is 107.7$\%$ which indicates a small interference contribution. In most regions of the Dalitz plot, our model gives rather small $CP$ asymmetry, but in some parts its values can be large and positive or negative. Its predicted total value is equal to -0.11$\%$. The calculated time dependent $\textit{CP}$-asymmetry parameters agree, within errors, with those obtained by the $\textit{BABAR}$ analysis. Our model amplitude can be the basis for a parametrization in experimental Dalitz plot analyses of LHCb and Belle II Collaborations.

We present alternative approaches to routing and scheduling in Answer Set Programming (ASP), and explore them in the context of Multi-agent Path Finding. The idea is to capture the flow of time in terms of partial orders rather than time steps attached to actions and fluents. This also abolishes the need for fixed upper bounds on the length of plans. The trade-off for this avoidance is that (parts of) temporal trajectories must be acyclic, since multiple occurrences of the same action or fluent cannot be distinguished anymore. While this approach provides an interesting alternative for modeling routing, it is without alternative for scheduling since fine-grained timings cannot be represented in ASP in a feasible way. This is different for partial orders that can be efficiently handled by external means such as acyclicity and difference constraints. We formally elaborate upon this idea and present several resulting ASP encodings. Finally, we demonstrate their effectiveness via an empirical analysis.

Due to its extremely short timescale, the non-equilibrium melting of metals is exceptionally difficult to probe experimentally. The knowledge of melting mechanisms is thus based mainly on the results of theoretical predictions. This work reports on the investigation of ultrafast melting of thin polycrystalline Pd films studied by optical laser pump - X-ray free-electron laser probe experiments and molecular-dynamics simulations. By acquiring X-ray diffraction snapshots with sub-picosecond resolution, we capture the sample's atomic structure during its transition from the crystalline to the liquid state. Bridging the timescales of experiments and simulations allows us to formulate a realistic microscopic picture of melting. We demonstrate that the existing models of strongly non-equilibrium melting, developed for systems with relatively weak electron-phonon coupling, remain valid even for ultrafast heating rates achieved in femtosecond laser-excited Pd. Furthermore, we highlight the role of pre-existing and transiently generated crystal defects in the transition to the liquid state.

We present plingo, an extension of the ASP system clingo with various probabilistic reasoning modes. Plingo is centered upon LP^MLN, a probabilistic extension of ASP based on a weight scheme from Markov Logic. This choice is motivated by the fact that the core probabilistic reasoning modes can be mapped onto optimization problems and that LP^MLN may serve as a middle-ground formalism connecting to other probabilistic approaches. As a result, plingo offers three alternative frontends, for LP^MLN, P-log, and ProbLog. The corresponding input languages and reasoning modes are implemented by means of clingo's multi-shot and theory solving capabilities. The core of plingo amounts to a re-implementation of LP^MLN in terms of modern ASP technology, extended by an approximation technique based on a new method for answer set enumeration in the order of optimality. We evaluate plingo's performance empirically by comparing it to other probabilistic systems.

The search for correlations between secondary cosmic ray detection rates and seismic effects has long been a subject of investigation motivated by the hope of identifying a new precursor type that could feed a global early warning system against earthquakes. Here we show for the first time that the average variation of the cosmic ray detection rates correlates with the global seismic activity to be observed with a time lag of approximately two weeks, and that the significance of the effect varies with a periodicity resembling the undecenal solar cycle, with a shift in phase of around three years, exceeding 6 sigma at local maxima. The precursor characteristics of the observed correlations point to a pioneer perspective of an early warning system against earthquakes.

We provide a comprehensive elaboration of the theoretical foundations of variable instantiation, or grounding, in Answer Set Programming (ASP). Building on the semantics of ASP's modeling language, we introduce a formal characterization of grounding algorithms in terms of (fixed point) operators. A major role is played by dedicated well-founded operators whose associated models provide semantic guidance for delineating the result of grounding along with on-the-fly simplifications. We address an expressive class of logic programs that incorporates recursive aggregates and thus amounts to the scope of existing ASP modeling languages. This is accompanied with a plain algorithmic framework detailing the grounding of recursive aggregates. The given algorithms correspond essentially to the ones used in the ASP grounder gringo.

The $\textit{BABAR}$ Collaboration data of the $D^0 \to K^0_S K^+ K^-$ process are analyzed within a quasi two-body factorization framework. In earlier studies, assuming $D^0$ transitions to two kaons and the transitions between one kaon and two kaons to proceed through the dominant intermediate resonances, we approximated them as being proportional to the kaon form factors. To obtain good fits, one has to multiply the scalar-kaon form factors, derived from unitary relativistic coupled-channel models or in a dispersion relation approach, by phenomenological energy-dependent functions. The final state kaon-kaon interactions in the $S$-, $P$- and $D$- waves are taken into account. All $S$-wave channels are treated in a unitary way. The $K^+K^-$ and $\bar K^0 K^+$ $S$-wave effective mass squared distributions, corrected for phase space, are shown, in a model-independent manner, to be significantly different. Then the $f_0(980)$ resonance must be included at variance with the BABAR analysis. The best fit has 19 free parameters and indicates i) the dominance of annihilation amplitudes, ii) a large dominance of the $f_0(980)$ meson in the near threshold $K^+K^-$ invariant mass distribution and iii) a sizable branching fraction to the $K_S^0 \ [ρ(770)^+ + ρ(1450)^+ + ρ(1700)^+] $ final states. An appendix provides an update of the determination of the isoscalar-scalar meson-meson amplitudes based on an enlarged set of data. A second appendix proposes two alternative fits based on scalar-kaon form factors calculated from the Muskhelishvili-Omnès dispersion relation approach. These fits have $χ^2$ quite close to that of the best fit but they show important contributions from both the $f_0$ and $a_0^0$ mesons and a weaker role of the $ρ^+$ mesons.

The Cosmic Ray Extremely Distributed Observatory (CREDO) is a newly formed, global collaboration dedicated to observing and studying cosmic rays (CR) and cosmic ray ensembles (CRE): groups of a minimum of two CR with a common primary interaction vertex or the same parent particle. The CREDO program embraces testing known CR and CRE scenarios, and preparing to observe unexpected physics, it is also suitable for multi-messenger and multi-mission applications. Perfectly matched to CREDO capabilities, CRE could be formed both within classical models (e.g. as products of photon-photon interactions), and exotic scenarios (e.g. as results of decay of Super Heavy Dark Matter particles). Their fronts might be significantly extended in space and time, and they might include cosmic rays of energies spanning the whole cosmic ray energy spectrum, with a footprint composed of at least two extensive air showers with correlated arrival directions and arrival times. Since CRE are mostly expected to be spread over large areas and, because of the expected wide energy range of the contributing particles, CRE detection might only be feasible when using available cosmic ray infrastructure collectively, i.e. as a globally extended network of detectors. Thus, with this review article, the CREDO Collaboration invites the astroparticle physics community to actively join or to contribute to the research dedicated to CRE, and in particular to share any cosmic ray data useful for the specific CRE detection strategies.

An analysis is presented of elastic $P$-wave $ππ$ phase shifts and inelasticities up to 2 GeV, aimed at identifying the corresponding $J^{PC}=1^{--}$ excited $ρ$ resonances and focusing on the $ρ(1250)$ vs. $ρ(1450)$ controversy. The approach employs an improved parametrization in terms of a manifestly unitary and analytic three-channel $S$-matrix with its complex-energy pole positions. The included channels are $ππ$, $\rho2π$, and $ρρ$, the latter two being effective in the sense that they mimic several experimentally observed decay modes with nearby thresholds. In an alternative fit, the $\rho2π$ mode is replaced by $ωπ$, which is also an experimentally relevant channel. The improvement with respect to prior work amounts to the enforcement of maximum crossing symmetry through once-subtracted dispersion relations called GKPY equations. A separate analysis concerns the pion electromagnetic form factor, which again demonstrates the enormous importance of guaranteeing unitarity and analyticity when dealing with very broad and highly inelastic resonances. In the case of $ρ(1250)$ vs. $ρ(1450)$, the failure to do so is shown to give rise to an error in the predicted mass of about 170 MeV. A clear picture emerges from these analyses, identifying five vector $ρ$ states below 2 GeV, viz. $ρ(770)$, $ρ(1250)$, $ρ(1450)$, $ρ(1600)$, and $ρ(1800)$, with $ρ(1250)$ being indisputably the most important excited $ρ$ resonance. The stability of the fits as well as the imposition of unitarity, analyticity, and approximate crossing symmetry in the analyses lend very strong support to these assignments. The possibly far-reaching consequences for meson spectroscopy are discussed.

Answer Set Programming (ASP) has become a popular and quite sophisticated approach to declarative problem solving. This is arguably due to its attractive modeling-grounding-solving workflow that provides an easy approach to problem solving, even for laypersons outside computer science. Unlike this, the high degree of sophistication of the underlying technology makes it increasingly hard for ASP experts to put ideas into practice.
For addressing this issue, this tutorial aims at enabling users to build their own ASP-based systems. More precisely, we show how the ASP system CLINGO can be used for extending ASP and for implementing customized special-purpose systems. To this end, we propose two alternatives. We begin with a traditional AI technique and show how meta programming can be used for extending ASP. This is a rather light approach that relies on CLINGO's reification feature to use ASP itself for expressing new functionalities. Unlike this, the major part of this tutorial uses traditional programming (in PYTHON) for manipulating CLINGO via its application programming interface. This approach allows for changing and controlling the entire model-ground-solve workflow of ASP. Central to this is CLINGO's new Application class that allows us to draw on CLINGO's infrastructure by customizing processes similar to the one in CLINGO. For instance, we may engage manipulations to programs' abstract syntax trees, control various forms of multi-shot solving, and set up theory propagators for foreign inferences. Another cross-sectional structure, spanning meta as well as application programming, is CLINGO's intermediate format, ASPIF, that specifies the interface among the underlying grounder and solver. We illustrate the aforementioned concepts and techniques throughout this tutorial by means of examples and several non-trivial case-studies.

Using Monte Carlo simulations, we investigate the development of such cascades in the solar magnetosphere, and find that the photons in the cascades are distributed over hundreds of kilometers as they arrive at the top of the Earth's atmosphere. We also perform similar study for cascades starting as far as 10 Mpc away from us using relevant magnetic field models. A few photons correlated in time are expected to arrive at the Earth from the latter type of cascade. We present our simulation results and discuss the prospects for detection of these cascades with the Cosmic-Ray Extremely Distributed Observatory.

In the past few years, cosmic-rays beyond the GZK cut-off ($E > 5 \times 10^{19}$ eV) have been detected by leading collaborations such as Pierre Auger Observatory. Such observations raise many questions as to how such energies can be reached and what source can possibly produce them. Although at lower energies, mechanisms such as Fermi acceleration in supernovae front shocks seem to be favored, top-down scenarios have been proposed to explain the existence of ultra-high energy cosmic-rays: the decay of super-massive long-lived particles produced in the early Universe may yield to a flux of ultra-high energy photons. Such photons might be presently generating so called super-preshowers, an extended cosmic-ray shower with a spatial distribution that can be as wide as the Earth diameter. The Cosmic Ray Extremely Distributed Observatory (CREDO) mission is to find such events by means of a network of detectors spread around the globe. CREDO's strategy is to connect existing detectors and create a worldwide network of cosmic-ray observatories. Moreover, citizen-science constitutes an important pillar of our approach. By hel** our algorithms to recognize detection patterns and by using smartphones as individual cosmic-ray detectors, non-scientists can participate in scientific discoveries and help unravel some of the deepest mysteries in physics.

This approach allows us to even out the expressiveness of TEL over infinite traces with the computational capacity of (incremental) Answer Set Programming (ASP). Also, we argue that finite traces are more natural when reasoning about action and change. As a result, our approach is readily implementable via multi-shot ASP systems and benefits from an extension of ASP's full-fledged input language with temporal operators. This includes future as well as past operators whose combination offers a rich temporal modeling language. For computation, we identify the class of temporal logic programs and prove that it constitutes a normal form for our approach. Finally, we outline two implementations, a generic one and an extension of clingo.

We introduce parametrizations of hadronic three-body $B$ and $D$ weak decay amplitudes that can be readily implemented in experimental analyses and are a sound alternative to the simplistic and widely used sum of Breit-Wigner type amplitudes, also known as the isobar model. These parametrizations can be particularly useful in the interpretation of CP asymmetries in the Dalitz plots. They are derived from previous calculations based on a quasi-two-body factorization approach in which two-body hadronic final state interactions are fully taken into account in terms of unitary $S$- and $P$-wave $ππ$, $πK$ and $K \bar K$ form factors. These form factors can be determined rigorously, fulfilling fundamental properties of quantum field-theory amplitudes such as analyticity and unitarity, and are in agreement with the low-energy behaviour predicted by effective theories of QCD. They are derived from sets of coupled-channel equations using $T$-matrix elements constrained by experimental meson-meson phase shifts and inelasticities, chiral symmetry and asymptotic QCD. We provide explicit amplitude expressions for the decays $B^\pm \to π^+ π^- π^\pm$, $B \to K \ π^+ π^-$, $B^\pm \to K^+ K^-K^\pm$, $D^+ \to π^- π^+ π^+ $, $D^+ \to K^- π^+ \ π^+ $, $D^0 \to K^0_S \ π^+\ π^- $, for which we have shown in previous studies that this approach is phenomenologically successful, in addition, we provide expressions for the $D^0 \to K^0_S \ K^+ K^-$ decay. Other three-body hadronic channels can be parametrized likewise.

The recent series 5 of the ASP system clingo provides generic means to enhance basic Answer Set Programming (ASP) with theory reasoning capabilities. We instantiate this framework with different forms of linear constraints, discuss the respective implementations, and present techniques of how to use these constraints in a reactive context. More precisely, we introduce extensions to clingo with difference and linear constraints over integers and reals, respectively, and realize them in complementary ways. Finally, we empirically evaluate the resulting clingo derivatives clingo[dl] and clingo[lp] on common fragments and contrast them to related ASP systems.

We introduce a new flexible paradigm of grounding and solving in Answer Set Programming (ASP), which we refer to as multi-shot ASP solving, and present its implementation in the ASP system clingo.
Multi-shot ASP solving features grounding and solving processes that deal with continuously changing logic programs. In doing so, they remain operative and accommodate changes in a seamless way. For instance, such processes allow for advanced forms of search, as in optimization or theory solving, or interaction with an environment, as in robotics or query-answering. Common to them is that the problem specification evolves during the reasoning process, either because data or constraints are added, deleted, or replaced. This evolutionary aspect adds another dimension to ASP since it brings about state changing operations. We address this issue by providing an operational semantics that characterizes grounding and solving processes in multi-shot ASP solving. This characterization provides a semantic account of grounder and solver states along with the operations manipulating them.
The operative nature of multi-shot solving avoids redundancies in relaunching grounder and solver programs and benefits from the solver's learning capacities. clingo accomplishes this by complementing ASP's declarative input language with control capacities. On the declarative side, a new directive allows for structuring logic programs into named and parameterizable subprograms. The grounding and integration of these subprograms into the solving process is completely modular and fully controllable from the procedural side. To this end, clingo offers a new application programming interface that is conveniently accessible via scripting languages.

A reanalysis of $ππ$ amplitudes for all important partial-waves below about 2 GeV is presented. A set of once subtracted dispersion relations with imposed crossing symmetry condition is used to modify unitary multi-channel amplitudes in the $S$, $P$, $D$, and $F$ waves. So far, these specific amplitudes constructed in our works and many other analyzes have been fitted only to experimental data and therefore do not fulfill the crossing symmetry condition. In the present analysis, the self consistent, i.e. unitary and fulfilling the crossing symmetry, amplitudes for the $S$, $P$, $D$, and $F$ waves are formed. The proposed very effective and simple method of modification of the $ππ$ amplitudes does not change their previous-original mathematical structure and the method can be easily applied in various other analyzes.

An intricate part of both phases is the treatment of aggregates, which are popular language constructs that allow for expressing properties over sets. In this paper, we elaborate upon the treatment of aggregates during grounding in Gringo series 4. Consequently, our approach is applicable to grounding based on semi-naive database evaluation techniques. In particular, we provide a series of algorithms detailing the treatment of recursive aggregates and illustrate this by a running example.

We construct the amplitudes of $πη$ photoproduction taking into account the effects of the $πη$ - $K\bar K$ interchannel coupling. The idea of our model is close to the molecular description of scalar resonances with exception that apart from the pseudoscalar loops we include also vector mesons in the intermediate state loops. These amplitudes are used to calculate the $S$-wave cross sections and mass distributions in the $πη$ effective mass region corresponding to the scalar resonances $a_0(980)$ and $a_0(1450)$. The values we obtained for $a_0(980)$ are comparable with predictions of other models while the cross section for $a_0(1450)$ is about an order of magnitude larger than prediction based on the quark model. We show that the amplitudes with loops containing vector mesons calculated in the on-shell approximation are not suppressed in contrast to amplitudes containing only pseudoscalar loops. We estimate the cross sections for the $P$- and $D$- waves in the $πη$ channel.

We present a unified analysis of the decays of bottomonia Upsilon(mS) -> Upsilon(nS) pi pi (m>n, m=2,3,4,5, n=1,2,3), charmonia J/psi -> phi (pi pi, K antiK), psi(2S) -> J/psi pi pi and the isoscalar S-wave processes pi pi -> pi pi, K antiK, eta eta. In this analysis we extend our recent study of low-lying (m=2,3) radial excitations of bottomonia to modes involving higher (m=4,5) excited states. Similarly as for the data on lower radial excitations, we confirm that the data for higher radially excited states from the BaBar and Belle collaborations can be described under conditions that the final bottomonium is a spectator and the multichannel pi pi scattering is considered in a model-independent approach based on analyticity, unitarity and the uniformization procedure. Indeed we show that the dipion mass distributions in the two-pion transitions of both charmonia and bottomonia states are explained by a unified mechanism based on the contribution of the pi pi and K antiK coupled channels including their interference (final-state interactions). Therefore, our main result is that the lower and higher radially excited states of charmonia and bottomonia have no specific features in mutual comparison and can be understood in a unified picture, e.g. proposed by our approach.

A set of well known once subtracted dispersion relations with imposed crossing symmetry condition is used to modify unitary multichannel $S$ ($ππ$, $K \bar K$, and $ηη$) and $P$ ($ππ$, $ρ2π$, and $ρσ$) wave amplitudes mostly below 1 GeV. Before the modifications, these amplitudes significantly did not satisfy the crossing symmetry condition and did not describe the $ππ$ threshold region. Moreover, the pole of the $S$ wave amplitude related with the $f_0(500)$ meson (former $f_0(600)$ or $σ$) had much smaller imaginary part and bigger real one in comparison with those in the newest Particle Data Group Tables. Here, these amplitudes are supplemented by near threshold expansion polynomials and refitted to the experimental data in the effective two pion mass from the threshold to 1.8 GeV and to the dispersion relations up to 1.1 GeV. In result the self consistent, i.e. unitary and fulfilling the crossing symmetry condition, $S$ and $P$ wave amplitudes are formed and the $σ$ pole becomes much narrower and lighter. To eliminate doubts about the uniqueness of the so obtained sigma pole position short and purely mathematical proof of the uniqueness of the results is also presented. This analysis is addressed to a wide group of physicists and aims at providing a very effective and easy method of modification of, many presently used, $ππ$ amplitudes with a heavy and broad $σ$ meson without changing of their original mathematical structure.

The analysis, which aims at studying the scalar mesons, is performed jointly considering the multi-channel pion-pion scattering, which is described in our model-independent approach based on analyticity and unitarity and using an uniformizing variable method, and the charmonium decay processes $J/ψ\toφ(ππ, K\bar{K})$, $ψ(2S)\to J/ψ(ππ)$. Results of the analysis confirm all our earlier conclusions on the scalar mesons. It is also shown that in the final states of the $Υ$-meson family decays (except for the $ππ$ scattering) the contribution of the coupled processes, e.g., $K\bar{K}\toππ$, is important even if these processes are energetically forbidden. This is in accordance with our previous conclusions on the wide resonances: If a wide resonance cannot decay into a channel which opens above its mass but the resonance is strongly connected with this channel (e.g. the $f_0(500)$ and the $K\bar}$ channel), one should consider this resonance as a multi-channel state with allowing for the indicated channel taking into account the Riemann-surface sheets related to the threshold branch-point of this channel and performing the combined analysis of the considered and coupled channels.

Two of the three final-state mesons are assumed to form a single scalar, vector or tensor state originating from a quark-antiquark pair so that the factorization hypothesis can be applied. The meson-meson final state interactions are described by K pi and pi pi scalar and vector form factors for the S and P waves and by relativistic Breit-Wigner formulae for the D waves. A combined chi^2 fit to a Belle Dalitz plot density distribution, to the total experimental branching fraction and to the tau^- --> K0S pi- nu_tau decay data is carried out to fix the 33 free parameters. These are mainly related to the strengths of the scalar form factors and to unknown meson to meson transition form factors at a large momentum transfer squared equal to the D0 mass squared. A good overall agreement to the Belle Dalitz plot density distribution is achieved. Another set of parameters fits equally well the BABAR Collaboration Dalitz plot model. The branching fractions of the dominant channels compare well with those of the isobar Belle or BABAR models. The lower-limit values of the branching fractions of the annihilation amplitudes are significant. Built upon experimental data from other processes, the unitary K pi and pi pi scalar form factors, entering our decay amplitude and satisfying analyticity and chiral symmetry constraints, are furthermore constrained by the present Dalitz plot analysis. Our decay amplitude could be a useful input for determinations of D0-D0bar mixing parameters and of the CKM angle gamma (or phi3).

Although Boolean Constraint Technology has made tremendous progress over the last decade, the efficacy of state-of-the-art solvers is known to vary considerably across different types of problem instances and is known to depend strongly on algorithm parameters. This problem was addressed by means of a simple, yet effective approach using handmade, uniform and unordered schedules of multiple solvers in ppfolio, which showed very impressive performance in the 2011 SAT Competition. Inspired by this, we take advantage of the modeling and solving capacities of Answer Set Programming (ASP) to automatically determine more refined, that is, non-uniform and ordered solver schedules from existing benchmarking data. We begin by formulating the determination of such schedules as multi-criteria optimization problems and provide corresponding ASP encodings. The resulting encodings are easily customizable for different settings and the computation of optimum schedules can mostly be done in the blink of an eye, even when dealing with large runtime data sets stemming from many solvers on hundreds to thousands of instances. Also, the fact that our approach can be customized easily enabled us to swiftly adapt it to generate parallel schedules for multi-processor machines.

The model is presented to describe the f_2(1270) meson photoproduction as a result of pion-pion interactions in the final state. Treating tensor mesons as objects dynamically created due to final state interactions is a convenient and straightforward way to employ data from pi pi scattering like phase shifts and inelasticities for description of (photo)production reactions while retaining proper analytical structure of amplitudes, two particle unitarity and crossing symmetry. The model presented here can provide experimentally testable quantities like differential cross sections and pi pi mass distributions as well as the strengths of partial waves corresponding to various f_2(1270) helicities which are essential for partial wave analyses. It can also be used to compute moments of angular distribution and spin density matrix elements where partial wave interference effects are important.

It is shown: 1) a structure of the Riemann surface of the S-matrix for considered coupled processes must be allowed for calculating both amplitudes and resonance parameters, such as the mass and width; 2) the combined analysis of coupled processes is needed as the analysis of only pi-pi channel does not give correct values of resonance parameters even if the Riemann surface structure is included.

We review the use of new and precise dispersive equations, which also implement crossing symmetry, in order to shed further light on the long-standing puzzle in the parameters of the f0(500), as well as the f0(980). This puzzle is finally being settled thanks to several analyses carried out during the last years. In this talk we show how our very recent dispersive data analysis allowed for a precise and model independent determination of the amplitudes for the S,P,D and F waves. In particular, we show how the analytic continuation of once subtracted dispersion relations for the S0 wave to the complex energy plane leads to very precise results for the f0(500) pole: sqrt(s)_pole = 457^(+14)_(-13) - i 279^(+11)_(-7) MeV and for the f0(980) pole: sqrt(s)_pole = 996+/-7 - i 25^(+10)_(-6) MeV. We also comment on how these results have been already used for other practical applications, including a refit of a previous model to the pipi S-wave amplitudes below 1000 MeV, which improves its consistency with the poles found with the dispersive approach.

The amplitudes are modified in the low-energy region to improve their consistency with experimental data and the dispersion relations. Agreement with data is achieved for both amplitudes from the threshold up to 1.8 GeV and with dispersion relations up to 1.1 GeV. Consequences of the applied modifications, e.g. changes of the S-wave lowest-pole positions, are presented.

The annihilation, via W-exchange, amplitudes are added to the weak-decay tree amplitudes. The doubly Cabibbo suppressed parts of the amplitudes are also considered. The strong interactions between the kaon-pion and pion-pion pairs in the S-, P- and D-final states are described in terms of the corresponding form factors. The kaon-pion or pion-pion scalar and vector form factors are constrained by other experimental data. Unitarity, analyticity and chiral symmetry are also used to obtain their functional forms. We go through a minimization procedure to reproduce the K0S pi-, K0S pi+ and pi+ pi- effective mass projections of the Dalitz plot distributions. The large number (27) of non-zero amplitudes leads to a large number of parameters. The resulting model distributions and branching fractions are compared to the accurate Belle Collaboration data.

The method of analysis is based on analyticity and unitarity and uses an uniformization procedure. In the analysis limited only to the multi-channel $ππ$-scattering data, two possible sets of parameters of the $f_0(500)$ were found: in both cases the mass was about 700 MeV but the total width was either about 600 or 930 MeV. The extension of the analysis using only the DM2 and Mark III data on the $J/ψ$ decays does not allow to choose between these sets. However, the data from BESIII on the di-pion mass distribution in the decay $J/ψ\toφπ^+π^-$ clearly prefers the wider $f_0(500)$ state. Spectroscopic implications from results of the analysis are also discussed.

Peculiarities of obtaining parameters for broad multi-channel resonances from data are discussed analyzing the experimental data on processes $ππ\toππ,K\bar{K}$ in the $I^GJ^{PC}=0^+0^{++}$ channel in a model-independent approach based on analyticity and unitarity and using an uniformization procedure. We show that it is possible to obtain a good description of the $ππ$ scattering data from the threshold to 1.89 GeV with parameters of resonances cited in the PDG tables as preferred. However, in this case, first, representation of the $ππ$ background is unsatisfactory; second, the data on the coupled process $ππ\to K\bar{K}$ are not well described even qualitatively above 1.15 GeV when using the resonance parameters from the only $ππ$ scattering analysis. The combined analysis of these coupled processes is needed, which is carried out satisfactorily. Then both above-indicated flaws, related to the analysis of solely the $ππ$-scattering, are cured. The most remarkable change of parameters with respect to the values of only $ππ$ scattering analysis appears for the mass of the $f_0 (600)$ which is now in some accordance with the Weinberg prediction on the basis of mended symmetry and with an analysis using the large-$N_c$ consistency conditions between the unitarization and resonance saturation. The obtained $ππ$-scattering length $a_0^0$ in case when we restrict to the analysis of the $ππ$ scattering or consider so-called A-solution (with a lower mass and width of $f_0(600)$ meson) agrees well with prediction of chiral perturbation theory (ChPT) and with data extracted at CERN by the NA48/2 Collaboration from the analysis of the $K_{e4}$ decay and by the DIRAC Collaboration from the measurement of the $π^+π^-$ lifetime.
