We investigated the ME voltage coefficient as a complex quantity for all composite samples using the dynamic piezomagnetic coefficient, $q^{ac}$=$\partial λ^{ac}/{\partial H}$. The results reveal that tuning the magnetostrictive phase has a strong effect on the real part of the ME voltage coefficient. Do** zinc into cobalt ferrite modified the magnetic properties of the magnetic phase, such as magnetic anisotropy and coercive field, and hence the ME properties. The highest ME coefficient value of 12.33 $\frac{mV}{cm. Oe}$ was obtained for x=0.1 at the magnetic field of 755 Oe. In addition, the magnetic field at which the maximum value of the ME coefficient was observed ($H_{peak}$) strongly depends on the value of Zn substitution. The results were interpreted using the magnetic field dependence of the CF$_{2-x}$Z$_{x}$O magnetostriction.

The magnetic and structural properties of polycrystalline Co$_{4-x}$ Ni$_x$ Nb$_2$ O$_9$ (x=1,2) have been investigated by neutron powder diffraction, magnetization and heat capacity measurements, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. For x=1, the compound crystallizes in the trigonal P$\bar{3}$c1 space group. Below T$_N$ = 31 K it develops a weakly non-collinear antiferromagnetig structure with magnetic moments in the ab-plane. The compound with x=2 has crystal structure of the orthorhombic Pbcn space group and shows a hard ferrimagnetic behavior below T$_C$ =47 K. For this compound a weakly non-collinear ferrimagnetic structure with two possible configurations in ab plane was derived from ND study. By calculating magnetic anisotropy energy via DFT, the ground-state magnetic configuration was determined for this compound. The heat capacity study in magnetic fields up to 140 kOe provide further information on the magnetic structure of the compounds.

The magnetization of thin films of cobalt ferrite frequently falls far below the bulk value of 455 kAm-1, which corresponds to an inverse cation distribution in the spinel structure with a significant orbital moment of about 0.6 muB that is associated with the octahedrally-coordinated Co2+ ions. The orbital moment is responsible for the magnetostriction and magnetocrystalline anisotropy, and its sensitivity to imposed strain. We have systematically investigated the structure and magnetism of films produced by pulsed-laser deposition on different substrates (TiO2, MgO, MgAl2O4, SrTiO3, LSAT, LaAlO3) and as a function of temperature (500-700 C) and oxygen pressure (10-4 - 10 Pa). Magnetization at room-temperature ranges from 60 to 440 kAm-1, and uniaxial substrate-induced anisotropy ranges from +220 kJm-3 for films on deposited on MgO (100) to -2100 kJm-3 for films deposited on MgAl2O4 (100), where the room-temperature anisotropy field reaches 14 T. No rearrangement of high-spin Fe3+ and Co2+ cations on tetrahedral and octahedral sites can reduce the magnetization below the bulk value, but a switch from Fe3+ and Co2+ to Fe2+ and low-spin Co3+ on octahedral sites will reduce the low-temperature magnetization to 120 kAm-1, and a consequent reduction of Curie temperature can bring the room-temperature value to near zero. Possible reasons for the appearance of low-spin cobalt in the thin films are discussed.
Keywords; Cobalt ferrite, thin films, pulsed-laser deposition, low-spin Co3+, strain engineering of magnetization.

The XRD analysis shows that the structures in all samples have single phase rhombohedral structure with R$\bar{3}$c space group. The unit cell volume almost decrease with increasing the Al do** in all samples. The grain growth with increasing annealing temperature and Al do** also have been studied. We observed that, T$_c$ temperature decreases when the Al ion substitute in Mn ion site. The magnetic study of the samples via magnetic susceptibility results in Griffiths and spin-glass phase for samples doped with aluminium. Along the resistivity measurement results, the $T_{MIT}$ (metal-insulator) transition temperatures decrease and the system become an insulator. The insulator-metal transition occurs for L0 sample in near 165K, while this transition is weak for H0 sample due to oxygen non-stoichiometry.Using three models viz. 1. Adiabatic small polaron ho**, 2.Variable range hop**, and 3. Percolation model, the resistance have been studied.

The effect of Ag dilute do** on the structural, optical, and photocatalytic properties of ZnO nanoparticles was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis spectrophotometer and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy.~X-ray analysis revealed that Ag doped ZnO solidified in hexagonal wurtzite structure.~ The intensity of deep level emission was reduced with increasing silver do** in PL measurement.~The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurement predicted that Ag was mainly in the metallic state and ZnO was in the wurtzite structure.~ This metallic state accompanied by unique zinc oxide properties decolorized the methyl violet, efficiently.~ The first-principles calculation represented Ag deep level in ZnO with an n-type behavior, while in ZnO structure with grain boundary p-type nature via shallow states is dominant same as powder samples as studied in this present work. It was suggested that these Ag-doped ZnO nanoparticles may have good applications in optoelectronics, spintronics and wastewater treatment.

Systematic studies of magnetic properties of LaSr2Mn2O7 as a function of crystalline grain size provide information on how the crystalline grain size affects the magnetic and charge ordering in this compound. The half-doped bi-layered manganite LaSr2Mn2O7 (x=0.5) in its bulk form has CE-type antiferromagnetic (CE-AFM) charge ordering phase transition. In this work, we have prepared LaSr2Mn2O7 ceramic samples using Pechini sol-gel method to produce different grain sizes and the effect of crystalline grain sizes between 150 200 to 1000 nm on magnetic properties results obtained by the SQUID magnetometer have been investigated. The DC magnetization (DCM) measurements for all samples indicate that the crystalline grain size has no considerable effect on TCO. Just the temperature of charge ordering peak becomes sharper, and susceptibility measurement in the zero field cooling (ZFC) and filed cooling (FC) increases as the grain sizes becomes systematically smaller. The results obtained from magnetic hysteresis curves confirm the anti-ferromagnetic phase formation as a ground state and Arrott plots obtained manifest the existence of first and second order magnetic phase transition in all samples. In addition, in sample with a grain size of 150 200 nm, enhancement of the magnetic properties, which is accompanied with the formation of FM phase on the surface of grain or particle, is observed.

Mechanical alloying (MA) has been used to fabricate the Co2FeAl Heusler alloy with a nanocrystalline structure. The formation mechanism of the alloy has been investigated. Rietveld analysis showed that all samples that were milled for more than 15 hours had an L21 structure with a space group of Fm3m. The crystallite size and internal strain of the samples were calculated using the Williamson-Hall equation. With mechanical alloying of up to 20 hours the crystallite size of Co2FeAl increased, after which the crystallite size started to decrease. In contrast, internal strain first decreased during the process and then increased with the increase of milling time. The powder obtained after 20 hours of MA was split into three parts and separately annealed at 300, 500 and 700 oC for 5 hours. A considerable increase was observed in the hardness value of powder particles with the increase of annealing temperature up to 500 oC. However, the hardness value of the sample annealed at 700 oC decreased. It seems that this feature is related to parameters such as increase of crystallite size, enhancement of lattice ordering, change in density of defects and impurities and nonstoichiometric effects.

We performed detailed ac susceptibility measurements on Pr$_{1-x}$Ag$_x$MnO$_3$ ($x$=0.15, 0.20) manganites and observed unusual and interesting features, which are associated with the domain walls and the effects of grain-boundaries on their movements. It is shown that the ac field, frequency, temperature, thermal cycling and grain coupling significantly influence the real and especially imaginary parts of the ac susceptibility. We argue that the cooperative depinning of the domain walls from the grain-boundaries accompanying with a large distance movements of the walls leads to the appearance of an anomaly at low temperatures. The anomaly is observed above a threshold ac field and depends on the intergrain coupling. The results show that in the powdered form of bulk samples, the anomaly disappears and the ac field dependence of the $χ'$ and $χ"$ suppresses. Below the anomaly temperature, significant and unusual thermal hysteresis occurs in the real and especially imaginary parts of the ac susceptibility. Thermal hysteresis depends on the thermal cycling and indicates thermally irreversible wall pinning and depinning. The susceptibility is practically frequency-independent in the temperature range of thermal hysteresis i.e. below the anomaly. The frequency dependence of ac susceptibility between the anomaly temperature and the transition temperature is discussed by considering the temperature dependence of the relaxation process of the domain walls.

Magnetic nanoparticles of La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 (LSMO) manganite with mean particle sizes of 13, 16, 18 and 21 nm were prepared by the sol-gel method. The crystal structure and mean particle size of the synthesized powders were estimated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis using rietveld refinement and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) transmission spectroscopy revealed that stretching and bending modes are influenced by calcinations temperature. Dc magnetization versus magnetic field of the samples was carried out at room temperature. Magnetic dynamics of the samples was studied by the measurement of ac magnetic susceptibility versus temperature at different frequencies and ac magnetic fields. A frequency-dependent peak was observed in ac magnetic susceptibility versus temperature which is well described by Vogel-Fulcher and critical slowing down laws, and empirical and parameters. By fitting the experimental data with Vogel-Fulcher and critical slowing down laws, the relaxation time, characteristic temperature, magnetic anisotropy energy, effective magnetic anisotropy constant and critical exponent zv have been estimated. The obtained values of c1, c2, T0 and t0 from the Vogel-Fulcher law support of the presence of strong interaction between magnetic nanoparticles. The values of zv and t0 obtained from critical slowing down fit suggest the presence of superspin glass behavior in LSMO nanoparticles of different sizes.

The XRD results show that the samples crystallize in the O'-orthorhombic structure with a cooperative Jahn-Teller deformation. We give evidence that the Ag$^{+}$ is not substituted at the Pr$^{3+}$ site in the PrMnO$_{3}$ structure. The increase of $T_{C}$ up to 130 K is suggested to be due to further oxidation of manganite grains by the oxygen released from the metallic silver at high temperatures. We show that all measured ac susceptibility curves can be caled into a single curve using the peak temperature (Tp) of its imaginary part as the scaling parameter. The frequency effect on ac susceptibility was also measured. As the frequency increases,(Tp)shifts to higher temperature. This effect can be interpreted in terms of flux creep. A systematic study of the weak- link behavior for YBa2Cu3O7-d polycrystalline samples has been done using the electrical resistivity and AC susceptibility techniques. The experiments were performed with two samples of similar grain, a sample of well-coupled grains, and a deoxygenated sample in such a way that the oxygen mostly come from the intergrain region. Analysis of the temperature dependence of the AC susceptibility near the transition temperature (Tc) has been done employing Bean critical state model. The observed variation of intergranular critical current densities(Jc)with temperature indicates that the weak links are changed from superconductor- normal metal-superconductor(SNS) for well-coupled sample to superconductor-insulator- normal metal-superconductor(SINS) type of junctions for the deoxygenated sample. These results are interpreted in terms of oxygen depletion from grain boundaries, which in turn decreases the intergranular Josephson coupling energy with a consequent decrease ofpinning of the intergranular vortices.
