The precise measurement of the top-Higgs coupling is crucial in particle physics, offering insights into potential new physics Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) carrying CP Violation (CPV) effects. In this paper, we explore the CP properties of a Higgs boson coupling with a top quark pair, focusing on events where the Higgs state decays into a pair of $b$-quarks and the top-antitop system decays leptonically. The novelty of our analysis resides in the exploitation of two conditional Deep Learning (DL) networks: a Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) and a Graph Convolution Network (GCN). These models are trained for selected CPV phase values and then used to interpolate all possible values ranging from $0 \text{ to } π/2$. This enables a comprehensive assessment of sensitivity across all CP phase values, thereby streamlining the process as the models are trained only once. Notably, the conditional GCN exhibits superior performance over the conditional MLP, owing to the nature of graph-based Neural Network (NN) structures. Our Machine Learning (ML) informed findings indicate that assessment of the CP properties of the Higgs coupling to the $t\bar{t}$ pair can be within reach of the HL-LHC, quantitatively surpassing the sensitivity of more traditional approaches.

We suggest a simplified model that simultaneously addresses the dark-matter problem and give rise to top quark flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions at the one-loop order. The model consists of two extra $SU(2)_L$ gauge singlets: a colored mediator of spin zero ($S$) and a right-handed fermion ($χ$) both are odd under an ad-hoc $Z_2$ symmetry. The right-handed fermion plays the role of the dark-matter candidate. In this model, the presence of the two dark sector particles generates one-loop induced FCNC decays of the top quark into light quarks and bosons such as the gluon, the photon, the $Z$-boson or the Higgs boson. As a case study, we analyze the top quark FCNC decays into light quarks ($u$ or $c$) and a $Z$ or Higgs bosons. We then study the reliable solutions to the dark-matter problem by estimating the regions in the parameter space that are consistent with the \textsc{Planck} measurement of the dark-matter relic density. We also revisit the bounds from the searches of dark matter in events with at least one high-$p_T$ jet and large missing transverse energy at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We then define four benchmark points that are consistent with the existing constraints from collider experiments and cosmology. We finally estimate, for these benchmark scenarios, the rates of a broad range of channels that can be used to probe the connection between the top FCNC transitions and dark matter both at the HL-LHC and a future $100$ TeV collider.

We explore the potential of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in detecting a signal originating from the production of a heavy $SU(2)_R$ charged gauge boson that then decays into a top-bottom quark pair via the mediation of a right-handed neutrino, $p p \to W_R \to N_R \ell \to (\ell' t b)\ell$. Such a channel, that we study in the context of the minimal Left-Right Symmetric Model, contrasts with conventional smoking-gun signatures targeted experimentally and phenomenologically in which only light quarks are involved. We propose a selection strategy aimed at extracting such a top-bottom signal and we estimate the resulting sensitivity of the LHC to the model. Our results demonstrate the potential impact of such a search and we therefore urge the experimental collaborations to carry out a similar analysis in the light of present and future data.

In this work, we delve into the often-overlooked cosmological implications of spontaneous breaking of non-Abelian discrete groups, specifically focusing on the formation of domain walls in the case of $S_{4}$ flavor symmetry. In particular, we investigate three interesting breaking patterns of the $S_4$ group and study the structure of the domain walls in the broken phase for three possible residual symmetries. The presentation of domain walls in the case of multiple vacua is usually complicated, which therefore implies that most of the analyzes only approximate their presentation. Here, we propose a subtle way to represent the $S_{4}$ domain wall networks by presenting the vacua in each breaking pattern as vectors with their components corresponding to their coordinates in the flavon space. Then, through the properties of the obtained vectors, we find that the domain wall networks can be represented by Platonic or Archimedean solids where the vertices represent the degenerate vacua while the edges correspond to the domain walls that separate them. As an illustration, we propose a type-II seesaw model that is based on the $S_{4}$ flavor symmetry, and study its phenomenological implications on the neutrino sector. To solve the domain wall problem within this toy model, we consider an approach based on high-dimensional effective operators induced by gravity that explicitly break the structure of the induced vacua favoring one vacuum over the others.

We revisit the calculation of the source spectra for annihilating and decaying DM using the Vincia shower algorithm in Pythia to include QED and QCD final state radiation and diagrams for the Electroweak (EW) corrections with massive bosons, not present in the default Pythia shower model. We take into account the spin information of the particles during the entire EW shower and the off-shell contributions from massive gauge bosons. Furthermore, we perform a dedicated tuning of the Vincia and Pythia parameters to LEP data on the production of pions, photons, and hyperons at the $Z$ resonance and discuss the underlying uncertainties. To enable the use of our results in DM studies, we provide the tabulated source spectra for the most relevant cosmic messenger particles, namely antiprotons, positrons, $γ$ rays and the three neutrino flavors, for all the fermionic and bosonic channels and DM masses between 5 GeV and 100 TeV, on https://github.com/ajueid/CosmiXs.git.

The search for dark-matter (DM) candidates at high-energy colliders is one of the most promising avenues to understand the nature of this elusive component of the universe. Several searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have strongly constrained a wide range of simplified models. The combination of the bounds from the LHC with direct-detection experiments exclude the most minimal scalar singlet DM model. To address this, Lepton portal DM models are suitable candidates where DM is predominantly produced at lepton colliders since the DM candidate only interacts with the lepton sector through a mediator that carries a lepton number. In this work, we analyse the production of DM pairs in association with a Higgs boson decaying into two bottom quarks at future muon colliders in the framework of the minimal lepton portal DM model. It is found that the usual cut-based analysis methods fail to probe heavy DM masses for both the resolved (where the decay products of the Higgs boson can be resolved as two well-separated small-$R$ jets) and the merged (where the Higgs boson is clustered as one large-$R$ jet). We have then built a search strategy based on Boosted-Decision Trees (BDTs). We have optimised the hyperparameters of the BDT model to both have a high signal-to-background ratio and to avoid overtraining effects. We have found very important enhancements of the signal significance with respect to the cut-based analysis by factors of $8$--$50$ depending on the regime (resolved or merged) and the benchmark points. Using this BDT model on a one-dimensional parameter space scan we found that future muon colliders with $\sqrt{s}=3$ TeV and ${\cal L} = 1~{\rm ab}^{-1}$ can exclude DM masses up to $1$ TeV at the $95\%$ CL.

After imposing all theoretical and low-energy experimental constraints on the model parameters, we find that the Zee-Babu states are expected not to reside below the TeV scale, making it challenging to probe them at the LHC. We first analyze the production rates for various channels, including multi singly-charged and/or doubly-charged scalars at muon colliders. For concreteness, we study several benchmark points that satisfy neutrino oscillation data and other constraints and find that most channels have large production rates. We then analyze the discovery reach of the model using two specific channels: the pair production of singly- and doubly-charged scalars. For the phenomenologically viable scenarios considered in this study, charged scalars with masses up to ${\cal O}(3$--$4)$ TeV can be probed for the center-of-mass energy of $10$ TeV and total luminosity of $10~{\rm ab}^{-1}$.

We comprehensively study the potential for discovering lepton flavor violation (LFV) phenomena associated with the $Z$ and Higgs bosons at the LHeC and FCC-he. Our meticulous investigation reveals the remarkable suitability of electron-proton colliders for probing these rare new physics signals. This is due to the distinct advantages they offer, including negligible pileups, minimal QCD backgrounds, electron-beam polarization $P_e$, and the capability of distinguishing the charged-current from neutral-current processes. In our pursuit of LFV of the $Z$ boson, we employ an innovative indirect probe, utilizing the $t$-channel mediation of the $Z$ boson in the process $p e^- \to j τ^-$. For LFV in the Higgs sector, we scrutinize direct observations of the on-shell decays of $H\to e^+τ^-$ and $H\to μ^\pmτ^\mp$ through the charged-current production of $H$. Focusing on $H\to e^+τ^-$ proves highly efficient due to the absence of positron-related backgrounds in the charged-current modes at electron-proton colliders. Through a dedicated signal-to-background analysis with the boosted decision tree algorithm, we demonstrate that the LHeC with the total integrated luminosity of $1{\,{\rm ab}^{-1}}$ can put significantly lower $2σ$ bounds than the HL-LHC with $3{\,{\rm ab}^{-1}}$. Specifically, we find ${\rm{Br}}(Z\to eτ)< 2.2 \times 10^{-7}$, ${\rm{Br}}(H\to eτ) <1.7 \times 10^{-4} $, and ${\rm{Br}}(H\to μτ) < 1.0 \times 10^{-4}$. Furthermore, our study uncovers the exceptional precision of the FCC-he in measuring the LFV signatures of the $Z$ and Higgs bosons, which indicates the potential for future discoveries in this captivating field.

In dark-matter annihilation channels to hadronic final states, stable particles -- such as positrons, photons, antiprotons, and antineutrinos -- are produced via complex sequences of phenomena including QED/QCD radiation, hadronisation, and hadron decays. These processes are normally modelled by Monte Carlo event generators whose limited accuracy imply intrinsic QCD uncertainties on the predictions for indirect-detection experiments like Fermi-LAT, Pamela, IceCube or AMS-02. In this article, we perform a complete analysis of QCD uncertainties in antimatter spectra from dark-matter annihilation, based on parametric variations of the Pythia 8 event generator. After performing several retunings of light-quark fragmentation functions, we define a set of variations that span a conservative estimate of the QCD uncertainties. We estimate the effects on antimatter spectra for various annihilation channels and final-state particle species, and discuss their impact on fitted values for the dark-matter mass and thermally-averaged annihilation cross section. We find dramatic impacts which can go up to $\mathcal{O}(40)$ GeV for uncertainties on the dark-matter mass and up to $\mathcal{O}(10\%)$ for the annihilation cross section. We provide the spectra in tabulated form including QCD uncertainties and code snippets to perform fast dark-matter fits, in this https://github.com/ajueid/qcd-dm.github.io.git repository.

These models are very interesting since they avoid constraints from direct detection experiments even for coupling of order ${\cal O}(1)$, they have small annihilation cross sections, and can be probed efficiently at lepton colliders. In this work, we consider a minimal lepton portal DM model which consists of extending the SM with two $SU(2)_L$ singlets: a charged scalar singlet and an electrically neutral right-handed fermion. We systematically study the production mechanisms of DM at multi-TeV muon colliders. After considering all the possible theoretical and experimental constraints and studying the phenomenology of lepton flavour violation and DM in the muon-philic scenario, we analyse the production rates of 54 channels (26 channels for prompt DM production and 28 channels for charged scalar production) at multi-TeV muon colliders. Finally, we discuss the possible collider signatures of some channels and the corresponding backgrounds. We analyse scalar leptoquark pair production at the LHC with predictions including $t$-channel lepton exchange contributions up to next-to-leading order (NLO) in QCD. In particular, we calculate NLO-QCD predictions for off-diagonal production channels, {\it i.e.}\ channels that involve two different leptoquark eigenstates and are driven solely by diagrams involving Standard Model leptons in the $t$-channel at leading order, as opposed to diagonal channels where a pair of the same leptoquark eigenstate is produced. We find that reliable theoretical predictions for both channels require NLO accuracy. The relative importance of the off-diagonal modes depends strongly on the considered scenario. In a generic model involving $R_2$ and $S_3$ leptoquarks, at large values of the Yukawa couplings off-diagonal contributions initiated by valence quarks can be up to an order of magnitude higher than the diagonal production. However, we also find that in phenomenologically viable scenarios addressing the flavour anomalies off-diagonal production is generally negligible, with a few exceptions of 10\%--30\% of the total rate depending on the treatment of the charm density in the proton.

Dark-matter particles that annihilate or decay can undergo complex sequences of processes, including strong and electromagnetic radiation, hadronisation, and hadron decays, before particles that are stable on astrophysical time scales are produced. Antiprotons produced in this way may leave footprints in experiments such as AMS--02. Several groups have reported an excess of events in the antiproton flux in the rigidity range of $10$--$20$ GV. However, the theoretical modeling of baryon production is not straightforward and relies in part on phenomenological models in Monte Carlo event generators. In this work, we assess the impact of QCD uncertainties on the spectra of antiprotons from dark-matter annihilation. As a proof-of-principle, we show that for a two-parameter model that depends only on the thermally-averaged annihilation cross section ($\langle σv \rangle$) and the dark-matter mass ($M_χ$), QCD uncertainties can affect the best-fit mass by up to $\sim 14 \%$ (with large uncertainties for large DM masses), depending on the choice of $M_χ$ and the annihilation channel ($b\bar{b}$ or $W^+ W^-$), and $\langle σv \rangle$ by up to $\sim 10\%$. For comparison, changes to the underlying diffusion parameters are found to be within $1\%$--$5\%$, and the results are also quite resilient to the choice of cosmic-ray propagation model. These findings indicate that QCD uncertainties need to be included in future DM analyses. To facilitate full-fledged analyses, we provide the spectra in tabulated form including QCD uncertainties and code snippets to perform mass interpolations and quick DM fits. In the type-I two-Higgs-doublet model, existing theoretical and experimental constraints still permit the light charged Higgs boson with a mass below the top quark mass. We present a complete roadmap for the light charged Higgs boson at the LHC through the comprehensive phenomenology study, focusing on the normal scenario where the lighter \textit{CP}-even Higgs boson is the observed Higgs boson. In type-I, it is challenging to simultaneously accommodate the light mass of the charged Higgs boson and the constraints from theory, electroweak precision data, Higgs data, $b\to s γ$, and direct search bounds. Consequently, the parameter space is extremely curtailed, which predicts somewhat definite phenomenological signatures. We find that the mass of the pseudoscalar Higgs boson, $M_A$, is the most crucial factor in the phenomenology of the charged Higgs boson. If $M_A$ is light, the charged Higgs boson decays mainly into $A W^\pm$. When $M_A$ is above the $A W^\pm$ threshold, the dominant decay mode is into $ τ^\pm ν$. Over the whole viable parameter space, we study all the possible production and decay modes of charged Higgs bosons at the LHC, and suggest three efficient channels: (i) $pp \to H^+ H^-\to [τν] [τν]$; (ii) $pp \to HA/HH/AA \to H^\pm W^\mp H^\pm W^\mp \to [τν] [τν] W W$; (iii) $pp \to H^+ H^-\to [b \bar b W ] [b \bar b W ] $. Based on the sophisticated signal-background analyses including detector simulation, we showed that the significance of the first final state is large, that of the second one is marginal around three, but the third one suffers from huge $t\bar t$ related backgrounds.

The measured branching fractions of $B$-mesons into leptonic final states derived by the LHCb collaboration hint towards the breakdown of lepton flavour universality. In this work we take at face value the so-called $R_{D^{(*)}}$ observables that are defined as the ratios of neutral $B$-meson charged-current decays into a charged $D$-meson, a charged lepton and a neutrino final state in the tau and muon channels. A well-studied and simple solution to this charged current anomaly is to introduce a scalar leptoquark $S_1$ that couples to the second and third generation of fermions. We investigate how $S_1$ can also serve as a mediator between the Standard Model and a dark sector. We study this scenario in detail and estimate the constraints arising from collider searches for leptoquarks, collider searches for missing energy signals, direct detection experiments and the dark matter relic abundance. We stress that the production of a pair of leptoquarks that decays into different final states (i.e. the commonly called "mixed" channels) provides critical information for identifying the underlying dynamics, and we exemplify this by studying the $t τb ν$ and the resonant $S_1$ plus missing energy channels. We find that direct detection data provides non-negligible constraints on the leptoquark coupling to the dark sector, which in turn affects the relic abundance. We also show that the correct relic abundance can not only arise via standard freeze-out, but also through conversion-driven freeze-out. We illustrate the rich phenomenology of the model with a few selected benchmark points, providing a broad stroke of the interesting connection between lepton flavour violation and dark matter.

When annihilated to SM particles, the final-state annihilation products undergo various complicated processes such as QED and QCD bremsstrahlung, hadronisation, and hadron decays. These processes contain some intrinsic uncertainties which are usually difficult to model and which are neglected in physical analyses. First, we perform several re-tunings of the fragmentation function parameters. Then, we estimate two kinds of uncertainties: {\it (i)} perturbative from QCD showers and {\it (ii)} non-perturbative from hadronisation function. The results are tabulated for a wide range of dark matter masses, $m_χ\in [10, 10^5]~{\rm GeV}$, and annihilation channels. They can be found on Zenodo: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3764809

We describe the outcome of a data challenge conducted as part of the Dark Machines Initiative and the Les Houches 2019 workshop on Physics at TeV colliders. The challenged aims at detecting signals of new physics at the LHC using unsupervised machine learning algorithms. First, we propose how an anomaly score could be implemented to define model-independent signal regions in LHC searches. We define and describe a large benchmark dataset, consisting of >1 Billion simulated LHC events corresponding to $10~\rm{fb}^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. We then review a wide range of anomaly detection and density estimation algorithms, developed in the context of the data challenge, and we measure their performance in a set of realistic analysis environments. We draw a number of useful conclusions that will aid the development of unsupervised new physics searches during the third run of the LHC, and provide our benchmark dataset for future studies at https://www.phenoMLdata.org. Code to reproduce the analysis is provided at https://github.com/bostdiek/DarkMachines-UnsupervisedChallenge.

We discuss the phenomenology of a minimal model for GeV-scale Majorana dark matter (DM) coupled to the standard model lepton sector via a charged scalar singlet. The theoretical framework extends the Standard Model by two $SU(2)_L$ singlets: one charged Higgs boson and a singlet right-handed fermion. The latter plays the role of the DM candidate. We show that there is an anti-correlation between the spin-independent DM-Nucleus scattering cross-section ($σ_{\rm SI}$) and the DM relic density. We suggest a scenario that can be tested in both electron-electron and electron-positron collisions using the production of same-sign charged Higgs pairs and mono-Higgs in association with right-handed neutrinos.

The recent Fermilab measurement of the muon anomalous magnetic moment yields $4.2 σ$ deviations from the SM prediction when combined with the BNL E821 experiment results. In the Type-X two Higgs doublet model, we study the consequence of imposing the observed muon $g-2$, along with the constraints from theoretical stabilities, electroweak oblique parameters, Higgs precision data, and direct searches. For a comprehensive study, we scan the whole parameter space in two scenarios, the normal scenario where $h_{\rm SM} = h$ and the inverted scenario where $h_{\rm SM}=H$, where $h$ ($H$) is the light (heavy) CP-even Higgs boson. We found that large $\tanβ$ (above 100) and light pseudoscalar mass $M_A$ are required to explain the muon $g-2$ anomaly. This breaks the theoretical stability unless the scalar masses satisfy $M_A^2 \simeq M_{H^\pm}^2 \simeq m_{12}^2 \tanβ\approx M_{H/h}^2$. The direct search bounds at the LEP and LHC exclude the light $A$ window with $M_A \lesssim 62.5~$GeV. We also show that the observed electron anomalous magnetic moment is consistent with the model prediction, but the lepton flavor universality data in the $τ$ and $Z$ decays are not. For a separate exploration of the model, we propose the golden mode $pp \to A h/AH \to 4 τ$ at the HL-LHC.

The measurement of the Higgs quartic coupling modifier between a Higgs boson pair and a vector boson pair, $κ_{2V}$, is expected to be achieved from vector-boson fusion (VBF) production of a Higgs boson pair. However, this process involves another unmeasured parameter, the trilinear Higgs self-coupling modifier $κ_{λ}$. A sensitivity analysis should target both parameters. Since the LHC cannot avoid the gluon fusion pollution, which becomes severe for non-SM $κ_{λ}$, an electron-proton collider is more appropriate for the comprehensive measurement. In this regard, we study the VBF production of a Higgs boson pair in the $b\bar{b}b\bar{b}$ final state at the LHeC and FCC-he. Performing detailed analysis using the simulated dataset, we devise the search strategy specialized at the LHeC and FCC-he and give a prediction for the sensitivity to both $κ_{2V}$ and $κ_{λ}$. We find that the two electron-proton colliders have high potential: the LHeC has similar exclusion prospects as the HL-LHC; the FCC-he is extremely efficient, excluding the parameter space outside $κ_{2V} \in [0.8, 1.2]$ and $κ_{λ}\in [1, 2.5]$ at 95% C.L. for the total luminosity of $10$ ab$^{-1}$ and 10% uncertainty on the background yields.

In the context of the indirect searches of DM, the final state products will, in general, undergo a set of complicated processes such as resonance decays, QED/QCD radiation, hadronisation and hadron decays. This set of processes lead to stable particles (photons, positrons, anti-protons, and neutrinos among others) which travel for very long distances before reaching the detectors. The modelling of their spectra contains some uncertainties which are often neglected in the relevant analyses. We discuss the sources of these uncertainties and estimate their impact on photon energy spectra for benchmark DM scenarios with $m_χ\in [10, 1000]\,$GeV. Since the current evidence of its existence is revealed only through its gravitational influence, the way dark matter couples to gravity must be then of primary importance. Here, unlike the standard model sector which is typically coupled to metric, dark matter is supposed to couple only to spacetime affine connection through a $Z_2$-symmetry breaking term. We show that this structure leads to a coupling between dark matter, which is considered scalar, and the standard model Higgs potential. This induces dark matter decays into standard model particles through the Higgs which acts as a portal between the visible and the dark sectors. We study thoroughly the resulting decay modes for various mass ranges, and provide relevant bounds on the nonminimal coupling to affine gravity in line with observational data. Moreover, we find that the coupling to Higgs can be sufficiently large to facilitate production of dark matter lighter than 10 GeV at current and future high energy colliders.

In this letter, we propose an extension of the scotogenic model where singlet Majorana particle can be dark matter (DM) without the need of a highly suppressed scalar coupling of the order $O(10^{-10})$. For that, the SM is extended with three singlet Majorana fermions, an inert scalar doublet, and two (a complex and a real) singlet scalars, with a global $Z_{4}$ symmetry that is spontaneously broken into $Z_{2}$ at a scale higher than the electroweak one by the vev of the complex singlet scalar. In this setup, the smallness of neutrino mass is achieved via the cancellation between three diagrams a la scotogenic, a DM candidate that is viable for a large mass range; and the phenomenology is richer than the minimal scotogenic model.

The inert doublet model is a minimal dark matter model with strong theoretical motivations, where the stability of dark matter is usually achieved by imposing a $Z_2$ parity. We promote the $Z_2$ parity into a global $U(1)$ symmetry and study its phenomenological implications. There are two characteristic features of the model: both the CP-even and CP-odd neutral inert scalars, $h_1$ and $h_2$, become DM candidates; the number of model parameters is one less than that with $Z_2$ parity. We first analyze the constraints from LEP experiments, electroweak precision tests, theoretical stability, Higgs precision data, dark matter relic density, and direct detection experiments. It is found that if the model is required to explain at least 10% of the observed relic density, the theory is extremely limited such that the dark matter mass is about $70\;{\rm GeV}$ and the charged Higgs boson is not very heavy. Focusing on this narrow parameter space, we calculate the production cross sections of almost all the possible mono-$X$ and mono-$XX'$ processes at the LHC. The mono-$Wγ$ process is shown to have high discovery potential with the help of the decay of the intermediate-mass charged Higgs boson into $W^\pm h_{1,2}$. A search strategy is designed to increase the potential discovery of the model for the mono-$Wγ$ signal at both the HL-LHC and the FCC-hh. The optimal cut on $E_T^{\rm miss}/\sqrt{H_T}$ is suggested to maximize the signal significance, being about $0.76$ at the HL-LHC and about $7.5$ at the FCC-hh.

There are two kinds of new physics effects on non-resonant di-Higgs process from gluon fusion, non-SM Higgs trilinear self-coupling $λ_{hhh}$ or new colored particles running in the loop. With the aim of disentangling different new physics contributions, we study their characteristics in the kinematic distributions. Assuming that the total cross section is observed to be about three times as large as the SM expectation, we consider the cases of $λ_{hhh}/λ_{hhh}^{\rm SM} =-0.5, 5.5$ as well as a new physics model with heavy vectorlike quarks in a type-II two Higgs double model, called the VLQ-2HDM. A reasonable benchmark point is suggested in the exact wrong-sign limit, where the opposite sign between the up-type VLQ and down-type VLQ couplings to the Higgs boson causes the cancellation of their contributions to the single-Higgs production from gluon fusion. Because of the threshold effects from the heavy VLQs in the loop, the VLQ-2HDM accommodates the bumps in the distributions of the invariant mass of the Higgs boson pair ($M_{hh}$) and the transverse momentum of a Higgs boson ($p_T^h$). The positions of two bumps are closely related as $ M_{hh} \simeq 2 M_{\rm VLQ}$ and $p_T^h \simeq M_{\rm VLQ}$. In addition, the bumps located at the heavy VLQ mass naturally lift up the $M_{hh}$ and $p_T^h$ distributions into high-mass and high-$p_T^h$ regions. On the other hand, the non-SM Higgs trilinear coupling cases have the distributions shift into low $ M_{hh}$ and $p_T^h$ regions. Therefore, the kinematic region with high $M_{hh}$ and high $p_T^h$ will be a smoking-gun signal for the VLQ-2HDM. Full HL-LHC simulations for the di-Higgs signals are also performed, confirming that the $b \bar{b} b \bar{b}$ final state can distinguish the VLQ-2HDM.

For these scenarios, we study CP-violating effects in the neutron EDM and $t\bar{t}H_1$ production at the LHC. Motivated by the recent galactic center gamma-ray excess identified in the Fermi-LAT data, we perform a detailed study of QCD fragmentation uncertainties in the modeling of the energy spectra of gamma-rays from Dark-Matter (DM) annihilation. When Dark-Matter particles annihilate to coloured final states, either directly or via decays such as $W^{(*)}\to q\bar{q}'$, photons are produced from a complex sequence of shower, hadronisation and hadron decays. In phenomenological studies, their energy spectra are typically computed using Monte Carlo event generators. These results have however intrinsic uncertainties due to the specific model used and the choice of model parameters, which are difficult to asses and which are typically neglected. We derive a new set of hadronisation parameters (tunes) for the \textsc{Pythia~8.2} Monte Carlo generator from a fit to LEP and SLD data at the $Z$ peak. For the first time, we also derive a conservative set of uncertainties on the shower and hadronisation model parameters. Their impact on the gamma-ray energy spectra is evaluated and discussed for a range of DM masses and annihilation channels. The spectra and their uncertainties are also provided in tabulated form for future use. The fragmentation-parameter uncertainties may be useful for collider studies as well.

This scenario gives important consequences since the parameter space of the model is almost unconstrained compared to the Inert Higgs Doublet Model (or the scotogenic model with scalar DM), and hence, offers new opportunities for discovery at future high energy collider, e.g. the HL-LHC. As an example, we focus on the production of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson in association with a pair of dark scalars. Owing to its clean signature, the $γγ$ decay channel of the SM Higgs boson is investigated in great detail at both the HL-LHC (at $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV) and the future FCC-hh (at $\sqrt{s}=100$ TeV). After revisiting the LHC constraints from run-II on the parameter space of the model, and selecting benchmark points satisfying all the theoretical and experimental constraints, we found that scalars with mass up to $140$ GeV ($160$ GeV) can be probed at the LHC (FCC-hh) with a $3$ ab$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity assuming $5\%$ of uncertainty.

We show that the chiral structure of the $H^-t\bar b$ vertex entering both stages is sensitive to the underlying Higgs mechanism of Electro-Weak Symmetry Breaking (EWSB) and we specifically demonstrate that one could distinguish between two popular realizations of a 2-Higgs Double Model (2HDM) embedding a new $H^\pm$ state, i.e., those with Type-I and -Y Yukawa couplings. The chiral structure of such a vertex, which is different in the two cases, in turn triggers a particular spin state of the top quark which is then transmitted to its decay products. We study the sensitivity of certain observables to the anomalous right tensorial coupling in single top production at the LHC at $\sqrt{s}=13 \text{ TeV}$. The observables consist of asymmetries constructed from the energy and angles of the decay products of the top quark produced in single top production through $t$-channel. The computation is done at Leading Order (LO) and Next-to-Leading Order (NLO) in the strong coupling in the $5$ flavor scheme. We have estimated projected limits on the anomalous coupling, both at the parton level without cuts and at the particle level with cuts. We find that the asymmetries are robust with respect to the higher order QCD corrections and are indeed a very good probe of this anomalous coupling of the top. We examine Higgs boson production and decay in heavy-ion collisions at the LHC and future colliders. Owing to the long lifetime of the Higgs boson, its hadronic decays may experience little or no screening from the hot and dense quark-gluon plasma whereas jets from hard scattering processes and from decays of the electro-weak gauge bosons and the top-quark suffer significant energy loss. This distinction can lead to enhanced signal to background ratios in hadronic decay channels and thus, for example, provide alternative ways to probe the Yukawa coupling of the Higgs boson to the bottom quark and its lifetime.

Abstract:
We consider an extension of the standard model (SM) with an inert Higgs doublet and three Majorana singlet fermions to address both origin and the smallness of neutrino masses and dark matter (DM) problems. In this setup, the lightest Majorana singlet fermion plays the role of DM candidate and the model parameter space can be accommodated to avoid different experimental constraints such as lepton…

We consider an extension of the standard model (SM) with an inert Higgs doublet and three Majorana singlet fermions to address both origin and the smallness of neutrino masses and dark matter (DM) problems. In this setup, the lightest Majorana singlet fermion plays the role of DM candidate and the model parameter space can be accommodated to avoid different experimental constraints such as lepton flavor violating processes and electroweak precision tests. The neutrino mass is generated at one-loop level a la Scotogenic model and its smallness is ensured by the degeneracy between the CP-odd and CP-even scalar members of the inert doublet. Interesting signatures at both leptonic and hadronic colliders are discussed.

Abstract:
We make a complete one loop calculation of the $tbW$ couplings in the Two Higgs Doublet Model. We evaluate both the anomalous couplings $g_L$ and $g_R$ as well as left handed and right handed component of $tbW$. The computation is done in the Feynman gauge using the on-shell scheme renormalization for the Standard Model wave functions and parameters. We first show that the relative corrections to…

We first show that the relative corrections to these anomalous couplings are rather small in most regions of the parameter space. We then analyze the effects of these anomalous couplings on certain observables such as top quark polarization in single top production through $t-$channel as well as $W^\pm$ boson helicity fractions in top decay.

We investigate the implication of the recent discovery of a Higgs-like particle in the first phase of the LHC Run 1 on the Inert Higgs Doublet Model (IHDM). The determination of the Higgs couplings to SM particles and its intrinsic properties will get improved during the new LHC Run 2 starting this year. The new LHC Run 2 would also shade some light on the triple Higgs coupling. Such measurement is very important in order to establish the details of the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism. Given the importance of the Higgs couplings both at the LHC and $e^+e^-$
Linear Collider machines, accurate theoretical predictions are required. We study the radiative corrections to the triple Higgs coupling $hhh$ and to $hZZ$, $hWW$ couplings in the context of the IHDM. By combining several theoretical and experimental constraints on parameter space, we show that extra particles might modify the triple Higgs coupling near threshold regions. Finally, we discuss the effect of these corrections on the double Higgs production signal at the $e^+e^-$ LC and show that they can be rather important.
