Abstract:
We analyze the magnetization dynamics and magnetic anisotropy in bulk single crystalline Fe5GeTe2, a van der Waals 2D ferromagnet, using broadband Ferromagnetic Resonance Spectroscopy. We find sizable anisotropy in the Lande g factor at room temperature which is attributed to anisotropic critical fluctuations and not spin-orbit interaction.

Speech Command Recognition (SCR), which deals with identification of short uttered speech commands, is crucial for various applications, including IoT devices and assistive technology. Despite the promise shown by Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) in SCR tasks, their efficacy relies heavily on hyper-parameter selection, which is typically laborious and time-consuming when done manually. This paper introduces a hyper-parameter selection method for CNNs based on the Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm, aiming to enhance performance in SCR tasks. Training and testing with the Google Speech Command (GSC) dataset, the proposed approach showed effectiveness in classifying speech commands. Moreover, a comparative analysis with Genetic Algorithm based selections and other deep CNN (DCNN) models highlighted the efficiency of the proposed DE algorithm in hyper-parameter selection for CNNs in SCR tasks.

An Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a non-invasive exam that records the brain's electrical activity. This is used to help diagnose conditions such as different brain problems. EEG signals are taken for epilepsy detection, and with Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and machine learning classifier, they perform epilepsy detection. In Epilepsy seizure detection, machine learning classifiers and statistical features are mainly used. The hidden information in the EEG signal helps detect diseases affecting the brain. Sometimes it is complicated to identify the minimum changes in the EEG in the time and frequency domain's purpose. The DWT can give a suitable decomposition of the signals in different frequency bands and feature extraction. We use the tri-dimensionality reduction algorithm, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Independent Component Analysis (ICA), and Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA). Finally, features are selected by using a fusion rule and at the last step, three different classifiers, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naive Bayes (NB), and K-Nearest-Neighbor (KNN) have been used individually for the classification. The proposed framework is tested on the Bonn dataset. The simulation results provide 100% accuracy for the LDA and NB combination outperforming accuracy with other classifiers combinations, including 89.17% for LDA and SVM, 80.42% for LDA and KNN, 89.92% for PCA and NB, 85.58% PCA and SVM, 80.42% PCA and KNN, 82.33% for ICA and NB, 90.42% for ICA and SVM, 90% for ICA and KNN. Also, the LDA and NB combination shows the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, Precision, and Recall of 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, and 100%. The results prove the effectiveness of this model.

This paper presents an epilepsy detection method based on discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and Machine learning classifiers. Here DWT has been used for feature extraction as it provides a better decomposition of the signals in different frequency bands. At first, DWT has been applied to the EEG signal to extract the detail and approximate coefficients or different sub-bands. After the extraction of the coefficients, principal component analysis (PCA) has been applied on different sub-bands and then a feature level fusion technique is used to extract the important features in low dimensional feature space. Three classifiers namely: Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier, K-Nearest-Neighbor (KNN) classifier, and Naive Bayes (NB) Classifiers have been used in the proposed work for classifying the EEG signals. The proposed method is tested on Bonn databases and provides a maximum of 100% recognition accuracy for KNN, SVM, NB classifiers.

Voice Conversion (VC) emerged as a significant domain of research in the field of speech synthesis in recent years due to its emerging application in voice-assisting technology, automated movie dubbing, and speech-to-singing conversion to name a few. VC basically deals with the conversion of vocal style of one speaker to another speaker while kee** the linguistic contents unchanged. VC task is performed through a three-stage pipeline consisting of speech analysis, speech feature map**, and speech reconstruction. Nowadays the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) models are widely in use for speech feature map** from source to target speaker. In this paper, we propose an adaptive learning-based GAN model called ALGAN-VC for an efficient one-to-one VC of speakers. Our ALGAN-VC framework consists of some approaches to improve the speech quality and voice similarity between source and target speakers. The model incorporates a Dense Residual Network (DRN) like architecture to the generator network for efficient speech feature learning, for source to target speech feature conversion. We also integrate an adaptive learning mechanism to compute the loss function for the proposed model. Moreover, we use a boosted learning rate approach to enhance the learning capability of the proposed model. The model is trained by using both forward and inverse map** simultaneously for a one-to-one VC. The proposed model is tested on Voice Conversion Challenge (VCC) 2016, 2018, and 2020 datasets as well as on our self-prepared speech dataset, which has been recorded in Indian regional languages and in English. A subjective and objective evaluation of the generated speech samples indicated that the proposed model elegantly performed the voice conversion task by achieving high speaker similarity and adequate speech quality.

Supervised classification is the most active and emerging research trends in today's scenario. In this view, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) techniques have been widely employed and growing interest to the researchers day by day. ANN training aims to find the proper setting of parameters such as weights ($\textbf{W}$) and biases ($b$) to properly classify the given data samples. The training process is formulated in an error minimization problem which consists of many local optima in the search landscape. In this paper, an enhanced Particle Swarm Optimization is proposed to minimize the error function for classifying real-life data sets. A stability analysis is performed to establish the efficiency of the proposed method for improving classification accuracy. The performance measurement such as confusion matrix, $F$-measure and convergence graph indicates the significant improvement in the classification accuracy.

We shall say that $a$ and $b$ are absolutely compatible ($a\triangle b$ in short) if they are both range and domain absolutely compatible. In general, $a\triangle_d b$ (respectively, $a\triangle_r b$ and $a\triangle b$) is strictly weaker than $ab^*=0 $ (respectively, $a^* b =0$ and $a\perp b$). Let $T: A\to B$ be a contractive linear map** between C$^*$-algebras. We prove that if $T$ preserves domain absolutely compatible elements (i.e., $a\triangle_d b\Rightarrow T(a)\triangle_d T(b)$) then $T$ is a triple homomorphism. A similar statement is proved when $T$ preserves range absolutely compatible elements. It is finally shown that $T$ is a triple homomorphism if, and only if, $T$ preserves absolutely compatible elements.

These characterizations are applied to measure how close is a pair of absolute compatible positive elements in the closed unit ball from being orthogonal or commutative. In the case of 2 by 2 matrices the results offer a geometric interpretation in terms of an ellipsoid determined by one of the points. The conclusions for 2 by 2 matrices are also applied to describe absolutely compatible pairs of positive elements in the closed unit ball of $\mathbb{M}_n$.

We find that the first order transition of the pure system is destroyed for $0.046<p<0.954$ for all values of the crystal field, $Δ$. The system has a line of continuous transition for this range of $p$ from $-\infty <Δ<\infty$. For values of $p$ outside this interval, the phase diagram of the system is similar to the pure model, with a tricritical point separating the line of first order and continuous transitions. We find that in this regime, the order vanishes for large $Δ$ for $p<0.046$(and for large $-Δ$ for $p>0.954$) even at zero temperature.

These CNPs are nano-crystalline with predominantly graphitic structure and shows green fluorescence under UV exposure. While nitric acid oxidation induces nitrogen and oxygen incorporation into soot particle that afforded water solubility and light emitting property; the isolation of small particles from a mixture of different size particles improved the fluorescence quantum yield. These CNP shows encouraging cell imaging application. They enter into cell without any further functionalization and fluorescence property of these particles can be used for fluorescence based cell imaging application.

In this thesis, we consider several Random Energy Models. This includes Derrida's Random Energy Model (REM) and Generalized Random Energy Model (GREM) and a nonhierarchical version (BK-GREM) by Bolthausen and Kistler. The limiting free energy in all these models along with Word GREM, a model proposed by us, turn out to be a cute consequence of large deviation principle (LDP). This LDP argument allows us to consider non-Gaussian driving distributions as well as external field. We could also consider random trees as the underlying tree structure in GREM. In all these models, as expected, limiting free energy is not 'universal' unlike the SK model. However it is 'rate specific'. Consideration of non-Gaussian driving distribution as well as different driving distributions for the different levels of the underlying trees in GREM leads to interesting phenomena. For example in REM, if the Hamiltonian is Binomial with parameter $N$ and $p$ then the existence of phase transition depends on the parameter $p$. More precisely, phase transition takes place only when $p>{1/2}$. For another example, consider a 2 level GREM with exponential driving distribution at the first level and Gaussian in the second with equal weights at both the levels. Then even if the limiting ratio for the second level particles, $p_2$ is 0.00001 (very small), the system reduces to a Gaussian REM. On the other hand, if we consider a 2 level GREM with Gaussian driving distribution at the first level and exponential in the second, the system will never reduce to a Gaussian REM. In either case, the system will never reduce to that of an exponential REM. etc.
