Several models of dark matter suggest the existence of dark sectors consisting of SU(3)_C x SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y singlet fields. These sectors of particles do not interact with the ordinary matter directly but could couple to it via gravity. In addition to gravity, there might be another very weak interaction between the ordinary and dark matter mediated by U'(1) gauge bosons A' (dark photons) mixing with our photons. In a class of models the corresponding dark gauge bosons could be light and have the $γ$-A' coupling strength laying in the experimentally accessible and theoretically interesting region. If such A' mediators exist, their di-electron decays A' -> e+e- could be searched for in a light-shining-through-a-wall experiment looking for an excess of events with the two-shower signature generated by a single high energy electron in the detector. A proposal to perform such an experiment aiming to probe the still unexplored area of the mixing strength 10^-5 < $ε$ < 10^-3 and masses M_A' < 100 MeV by using 10-300 GeV electron beams from the CERN SPS is presented. The experiment can provide complementary coverage of the parameter space, which is intended to be probed by other searches. It has also a capability for a sensitive search for A's decaying invisibly to dark-sector particles, such as dark matter, which could cover a significant part of the still allowed parameter space. The full running time of the proposed measurements is requested to be up to several months, and it could be taken at different SPS secondary beams.

Abstract:
The K^+ \to π^0 μ^+ νγ($K_{μ3 γ}$) decay has been measured with stopped positive kaons at the KEK 12 GeV proton synchrotron. A $K_{μ3 γ}$ sample containing 125 events was obtained. The partial branching ratio $Br(K_{μ3 γ}, E_γ>30 {\rm MeV}, θ_{μ^+ γ}>20^{\circ})$ was found to be $[2.4 \pm 0.5(stat) \pm 0.6(syst)]\times 10^{-5}$, which is in good agreement with theoretical predictions.

Abstract:
The $K^+ \to π^0 π^0 e^+ ν$ ($K_{e4}^{00}$) decay has been measured with stopped positive kaons for a data sample of 216 events. A comparison of the observed spectra with a Monte Carlo simulation determined the $K_{e4}^{00}$ form factor. The results are compatible with the $K^+ \to π^+ π^- e^+ ν$ data, as estimated from the $ΔI=1/2$ rule. We also established that the $K_{e4}^{00}$ channel can be…

Abstract:
A search for T-violating transverse muon polarization ($P_T$) in the $K^{+}\to π^{0}μ^{+}ν$ decay was performed using kaon decays at rest. A new improved value, $P_T= -0.0017\pm 0.0023 (stat)\pm 0.0011 (syst)$, was obtained giving an upper limit, $| P_T | < 0.0050$. The T-violation parameter was determined to be Im$ξ= -0.0053 \pm 0.0071(stat)\pm 0.0036(syst)$ giving an upper limit, $|$Im…

First measurement of the T-violating muon polarization in the decay K^+ --> mu^+ nu gamma

Abstract:
We present the result of the first measurement of the T-violating muon polarization P_T in the decay K^+ --> mu^+ nu gamma. This polarization is sensitive to new sources of CP-violation in the Higgs sector. Using data accumulated in the period 1996-98 we have obtained P_T = (-0.64 +- 1.85(stat) +- 0.10(syst))x10^{-2} which is consistent with no T-violation in this decay.
