Abstract:
A kind of generalized Gelfand pair is introduced via a Banach algebra consisting of bi-invariant functions in a weighted Lebesgue space. The related spherical functions and the Fourier transformation are constructed. The multipliers of the underlying algebra are characterized by this Fourier transformation.

Abstract:
The context of this work is the study of the differential uniformity of polynomials defined over finite fields of even characteristic. We provide infinite families of trinomials with high differential uniformity when the base field is large enough. It means in particular that these trinomials are not exceptional almost perfect nonlinear.

A lately created metaheuristic algorithm called Child Drawing Development Optimization (CDDO) has proven to be effective in a number of benchmark tests. A Binary Child Drawing Development Optimization (BCDDO) is suggested for choosing the wrapper features in this study. To achieve the best classification accuracy, a subset of crucial features is selected using the suggested BCDDO. The proposed feature selection technique's efficiency and effectiveness are assessed using the Harris Hawk, Grey Wolf, Salp, and Whale optimization algorithms. The suggested approach has significantly outperformed the previously discussed techniques in the area of feature selection to increase classification accuracy. Moderate COVID, breast cancer, and big COVID are the three datasets utilized in this study. The classification accuracy for each of the three datasets was (98.75, 98.83%, and 99.36) accordingly.

Feature selection can be defined as one of the pre-processing steps that decrease the dimensionality of a dataset by identifying the most significant attributes while also boosting the accuracy of classification. For solving feature selection problems, this study presents a hybrid binary version of the Harris Hawks Optimization algorithm (HHO) and Salp Swarm Optimization (SSA) (HHOSSA) for Covid-19 classification. The proposed (HHOSSA) presents a strategy for improving the basic HHO's performance using the Salp algorithm's power to select the best fitness values. The HHOSSA was tested against two well-known optimization algorithms, the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) and the Grey wolf optimizer (GWO), utilizing a total of 800 chest X-ray images. A total of four performance metrics (Accuracy, Recall, Precision, F1) were employed in the studies using three classifiers (Support vector machines (SVMs), k-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost)). The proposed algorithm (HHOSSA) achieved 96% accuracy with the SVM classifier, and 98% accuracy with two classifiers, XGboost and KNN.

Let $\vee^k A$ be the $k$-th symmetric tensor power of $A\in M_n(\mathbb{C})$. In \cite{IAM}, we have expressed the normalized trace of $\vee^kA$ as an integral of the $k$-th powers of the numerical values of $A$ over the unit sphere $\mathbb{S}^{n}$ of $\mathbb{C}^{n}$ with respect to the normalized Euclidean surface measure $σ$. In this paper, we first use this integral representation to construct a family of unitarily invariant norms on $ M_n(\mathbb{C})$ and then explore their relations to Schatten-norms of $\vee^k A$. Another application yields a connection between the analysis of symmetric gauge functions with that of complete symmetric polynomials. Finally, motivated by the work of R. Bhatia and J. Holbrook in \cite{hol}, and as pointed out by R. Bhatia in \cite{bhatia} in the development of the theory of weakly unitarily invariant norms, we provide an explicit form for the weakly unitarily invariant norm corresponding to the $L^4$-norm on the space $C(\mathbb{S}^{n})$ of continuous functions on the sphere. Our result generalize those of R. Bhatia and J. Holbrook in different directions and pave the way to a technique for computing those weakly unitarily invariant norms on $ M_n(\mathbb{C})$ that are associated to $L^{2k}$-norms on $C(\mathbb{S}^{n})$.

This article presents a full end-to-end pipeline for Arabic Dialect Identification (ADI) using intonation patterns and acoustic representations. Recent approaches to language and dialect identification use linguistic-aware deep architectures that are able to capture phonetic differences amongst languages and dialects. Specifically, in ADI tasks, different combinations of linguistic features and acoustic representations have been successful with deep learning models. The approach presented in this article uses intonation patterns and hybrid residual and bidirectional LSTM networks to learn acoustic embeddings with no additional linguistic information. Results of the experiments show that intonation patterns for Arabic dialects provide sufficient information to achieve state-of-the-art results on the VarDial 17 ADI dataset, outperforming single-feature systems. The pipeline presented is robust to data sparsity, in contrast to other deep learning approaches that require large quantities of data. We conjecture on the importance of sufficient information as a criterion for optimality in a deep learning ADI task, and more generally, its application to acoustic modeling problems. Small intonation patterns, when sufficient in an information-theoretic sense, allow deep learning architectures to learn more accurate speech representations.

Hybrid plasmonic nanoemitters based on the combination of quantum dot emitters (QD) and plasmonic nanoantennas open up new perspectives in the control of light. However, precise positioning of any active medium at the nanoscale constitutes a challenge. Here, we report on the optimal overlap of antenna's near-field and active medium whose spatial distribution is controlled via a plasmon-triggered 2-photon polymerization of a photosensitive formulation containing QDs. Au nanoparticles of various geometries are considered. The response of these hybrid nano-emitters is shown to be highly sensitive to the light polarization. Different light emission states are evidenced by photoluminescence measurements. These states correspond to polarization-sensitive nanoscale overlap between the exciting local field and the active medium distribution. The decrease of the QD concentration within the monomer formulation allows trap** of a single quantum dot in the vicinity of the Au particle. The latter objects show polarization-dependent switching in the single-photon regime.

Forecasting stock prices can be interpreted as a time series prediction problem, for which Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) neural networks are often used due to their architecture specifically built to solve such problems. In this paper, we consider the design of a trading strategy that performs portfolio optimization using the LSTM stock price prediction for four different companies. We then customize the loss function used to train the LSTM to increase the profit earned. Moreover, we propose a data driven approach for optimal selection of window length and multi-step prediction length, and consider the addition of analyst calls as technical indicators to a multi-stack Bidirectional LSTM strengthened by the addition of Attention units. We find the LSTM model with the customized loss function to have an improved performance in the training bot over a regressive baseline such as ARIMA, while the addition of analyst call does improve the performance for certain datasets.

This paper introduces a statistical treatment to use Cepheid variable stars as distance indicators. The expansion rate of the Universe is also studied here through deriving the value of the Hubble constant H0. A Gaussian function approximation is proposed to fit the absolute magnitude and period of Cepheid variables in our galaxy. The calculations are carried out on samples of Cepheids observed in 23 galaxies to derive the distance modulus (DM) of these galaxies based on the frequency distributions of their periods and intrinsic apparent magnitudes. The DM is the difference between the apparent magnitude for extragalactic Cepheids and the absolute magnitude of the galactic Cepheids at maximum number. It is calculated by using the comparison of the period distribution of Cepheids in our galaxy and in other galaxies. This method is preferred due to its simplicity to use and its efficiency in providing reliable DM. A linear fit with correlation coefficient of 99.68% has been found between the published distance modulus and that computed one in the present work. From the present sample, a value of H0 in the range of 66 to 80 +/- 5 km/s Mpc is determined. The present procedure of computation and its accuracy are confirmed by the high correlation found between our computed DM and that published in the literature.

These triangulations have very special combinatorial properties, and Agol asked if these are "geometric", i.e. realised in the complete hyperbolic metric with all tetrahedra positively oriented. This paper describes a computer program Veering, building on the program Trains by Toby Hall, for generating these triangulations starting from a description of the homeomorphism as a product of Dehn twists. Using this we obtain the first examples of non-geometric veering triangulations; the smallest example we have found is a triangulation with 13 tetrahedra.

Hom-Bol algebras are defined as a twisted generalization of (left) Bol algebras. Hom-Bol algebras generalize multiplicative Hom-Lie triple systems in the same way as Bol algebras generalize Lie triple systems. The notion of an $n$th derived (binary) Hom-algebra is extended to the one of an $n$th derived binary-ternary Hom-algebra and it is shown that the category of Hom-Bol algebras is closed under taking $n$th derived Hom-algebras. It is also closed by self-morphisms of binary-ternary Hom-algebras. Every Bol algebra is twisted into a Hom-Bol algebra. Relying on the well-known classification of real two-dimensional Bol algebras, examples of Hom-Bol algebras are given.

Abstract:
We undertake a spectral study of a sample of bright X-ray sources taken from six XMM-Newton fields at high galactic latitudes, where AGN are the most populous class. These six fields were chosen such that the observation had an exposure time more than 60 ksec, had data from the EPIC-pn detector in the full-Frame mode and lying at high galactic latitude $|b| > 25^o$ . The analysis started by fitting the spectra of all sources with an absorbed power-law model, and then we fitted all the spectra with an absorbed power-law with a low energy black-body component model. The sources for which we added a black body gave an F-test probability of 0.01 or less (i.e. at 99% confidence level), were recognized as sources that display soft excess. We perform a comparative analysis of soft excess spectral parameters with respect to the underlying power-law one for sources that satisfy this criterion. Those sources, that do not show evidence for a soft excess, based on the F-test probability at a 99% confidence level, were also fitted with the absorbed power-law with a low energy black-body component model with the black-body temperature fixed at 0.1 and 0.2 keV. We establish upper limits on the soft excess flux for those sources at these two temperatures. Finally we have made use of Aladdin interactive sky atlas and matching with NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED) to identify the X-ray sources in our sample. For those sources which are identified in the NED catalogue, we make a comparative study of the soft excess phenomenon for different types of systems.

Abstract:
A twisted generalization of Lie-Yamaguti algebras, called Hom-Lie-Yamaguti algebras, is defined. Constructions of Hom-Lie-Yamaguti algebras from classical Lie-Yamaguti algebras and Malcev algebras are given. It is observed that, when the ternary operation of a Hom-Lie-Yamaguti algebra expresses through its binary one in a specific way, then such a Hom-Lie-Yamaguti algebra is a Hom-Malcev algebra.

Some characterizations of Hom-Leibniz algebras
Authors:

Abstract:
Some basic properties of Hom-Leibniz algebras are found. These properties are the Hom-analogue of corresponding well-known properties of Leibniz algebras. Considering the Hom-Akivis algebra associated to a given Hom-Leibniz algebra, it is observed that the Hom-Akivis identity leads to an additional property of Hom-Leibniz algebras, which in turn gives a necessary and sufficient condition for Hom-L…

A necessary and sufficient condition for Hom-power associativity of Hom-Leibniz algebras is also found.

Authors:
A. Nourou Issa
Abstract:
Two-dimensional real hyporeductive triple algebras (h.t.a.) are investigated. A classification of such algebras is presented. As a consequence, a classification of two-dimensional real Lie triple algebras (i.e. generalized Lie triple systems) and two-dimensional real Bol algebras is given.
