Biomedical image analysis is of paramount importance for the advancement of healthcare and medical research. Although conventional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are frequently employed in this domain, facing limitations in capturing intricate spatial and temporal relationships at the pixel level due to their reliance on fixed-sized windows and immutable filter weights post-training. These constraints impede their ability to adapt to input fluctuations and comprehend extensive long-range contextual information. To overcome these challenges, a novel architecture based on self-attention mechanisms as an alternative to conventional CNNs.The proposed model utilizes attention-based mechanisms to surpass the limitations of CNNs. The key component of our strategy is the combination of non-overlap** (vanilla patching) and novel overlapped Shifted Patching Techniques (S.P.T.s), which enhances the model's capacity to capture local context and improves generalization. Additionally, we introduce the Lancoz5 interpolation technique, which adapts variable image sizes to higher resolutions, facilitating better analysis of high-resolution biomedical images. Our methods address critical challenges faced by attention-based vision models, including inductive bias, weight sharing, receptive field limitations, and efficient data handling. Experimental evidence shows the effectiveness of proposed model in generalizing to various biomedical imaging tasks. The attention-based model, combined with advanced data augmentation methodologies, exhibits robust modeling capabilities and superior performance compared to existing approaches. The integration of S.P.T.s significantly enhances the model's ability to capture local context, while the Lancoz5 interpolation technique ensures efficient handling of high-resolution images.

Blind navigation is an accessibility application that enables blind to use an android Smartphone in an easy way for indoor navigation with instructions in audio form. We have proposed a prototype which is an indoor navigation application for blinds that uses QR codes. It is developed for android Smart phones and does not require any additional hardware for navigation. It provides automatic navigational assistance on pre-defined paths for blind. QR codes are placed on the floor sections after specific distance that acts as an input for current location detection and navigation. Whenever a QR code is scanned it provides the user with the information of the current location and asks the user to select the destination and then offers optimal and shortest path using path finding algorithms. During navigation whenever the deviation from the proposed path is detected it prompts the user and guides back to the right path by comparing the current path with the generated path. All of the instructions throughout the application are provided in audio form to the user. The interface of the application is well built for blinds which makes the smart phones user-friendly and useable for blind people. The user interacts with the application through a specific set of user-friendly gestures for specific inputs and operations. At the end, we have performed comparison between different state of art approaches and concluded that our approach is more user friendly, cost effective and produced more accurate results.

We present results for $β$-decay half-lives based on a new recipe for calculation of phase space factors recently introduced. Our study includes $fp$-shell and heavier nuclei of experimental and astrophysical interests. The investigation of the kinematics of some $β$-decay half-lives is presented, and new phase space factor values are compared with those obtained with previous theoretical approximations. Accurate calculation of nuclear matrix elements is a pre-requisite for reliable computation of $β$-decay half-lives and is not the subject of this paper. This paper explores if improvements in calculating the $β$-decay half-lives can be obtained when using a given set of nuclear matrix elements and employing the new values of the phase space factors. Although the largest uncertainty in half-lives computations come from the nuclear matrix elements, introduction of the new values of the phase space factors may improve the comparison with experiment. The new half-lives are systematically larger than previous calculations and may have interesting consequences for calculation of stellar rates.

We revisit the computation of the phase space factors (PSF) involved in the positron decay and electron capture (EC) processes for a large number of nuclei of experimental interest. To obtain the electron/positron wave functions needed in computation, we develop a code for solving accurately the Dirac equation with a nuclear potential derived from a realistic proton density distribution in the nucleus. The finite nuclear size (FNS) and screening effects are included through recipes which differ from those used in previous calculations. Comparing our results with former calculations employing approximate methods but computed with the same Q-values, we find a close agreement for positron decays, while for the EC process there are relevant differences. For the EC process we also find that the screening effect has a notable influence on the computed PSF values specially for light nuclei. Further, we re-computed the same PSF values but using the most recent Q-values reported in literature. In several cases these new Q-values differ significantly from the older ones, which results in large differences in the PSF values as compared with previous results. These new PSF values proposed here, can contribute to a more reliable calculation of the beta decay rates, which are key quantities in the study of nuclei far from the stability line, as well as to better understanding of the stellar evolution.

In this paper, we propose a new Quality Link Metric (QLM), ``Inverse Expected Transmission Count (InvETX)'' in Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol. Then we compare performance of three existing QLMs which are based on loss probability measurements; Expected Transmission Count (ETX), Minimum Delay (MD), Minimum Loss (ML) in Static Wireless Multi-hop Networks (SWMhNs). A novel contribution of this paper is enhancement in conventional OLSR to achieve high efficiency in terms of optimized routing load and routing latency. For this purpose, first we present a mathematical framework, and then to validate this frame work, we select three performance parameters to simulate default and enhanced versions of OLSR. Three chosen performance parameters are; throughput, Normalized Routing Load and End-to-End Delay. From simulation results, we conclude that adjusting the frequencies of topological information exchange results in high efficiency.

Preventive care service delivery faces immense challenges when it comes to the level of coverage. Within this context, the case of child immunization is presented by applying operations management tools. This paper explores the application of integer programming techniques to support the Expanded Programme of Immunization (EPI) service in the Dera Ismail Khan District of Pakistan. The main concern here is equitable service delivery to decentralized localities based on two criteria: (1) achieving the highest possible level of vaccination among the target population; and 2) ensuring equality among geographically scattered populations, especially in rural dwellings. For this purpose two integer programming models have been applied on the basis of (1) sub-dividing health district into localities and allocating vaccinators to visit and vaccinate children within their administrative boundaries, and (2) within the localized planning system allowing vaccinators to visit and vaccinate children across the administrative boundaries subject to savings in travel time. Both models show interesting results in terms of need satisfaction and travel-time savings with a minimum level of deviation from equity. The solutions provide a trade-off between alternative organizational tactics, and the argument is made that rational planning methods applied interactively can contribute to the delivery of an immunization service that is equitable and cost effective.

Cluster based routing protocols forWireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been widely used for better performance in terms of energy efficiency. Efficient use of energy is challenging task of designing these protocols. Energy holes are created due to quickly drain the energy of a few nodes due to nonuniform node distribution in the network. Normally, energy holes make the data routing failure when nodes transmit data back to the sink. We propose Energy-efficientHOle Removing Mechanism (E-HORM) technique to remove energy holes. In this technique, we use sleep and awake mechanism for sensor nodes to save energy. This approach finds the maximum distance nodes to calculate the maximum energy for data transmission. We consider it as a threshold energy Eth. Every node first checks its energy level for data transmission. If the energy level of node is less than Eth, it cannot transmit data.

In this approach, open-loop is used for temperature-aware link quality estimation and compensation. Whereas, closed-loop feedback helps to divide network into three logical regions to minimize overhead of control packets on basis of Threshold transmitter power loss (RSSIloss) for each region and current number of neighbor nodes that help to adapt transmit power according to link quality changes due to temperature variation. Simulation results show that propose scheme; EAST effectively adapts transmission power to changing link quality with less control packets overhead and energy consumption compared to classical approach with single region in which maximum transmitter power assigned to compensate temperature variation.

Clustering is an effective way to increase energy efficiency. Mostly, heterogenous protocols consider two or three energy level of nodes. In reality, heterogonous WSNs contain large range of energy levels. By analyzing communication energy consumption of the clusters and large range of energy levels in heterogenous WSN, we propose BEENISH (Balanced Energy Efficient Network Integrated Super Heterogenous) Protocol. It assumes WSN containing four energy levels of nodes. Here, Cluster Heads (CHs) are elected on the bases of residual energy level of nodes. Simulation results show that it performs better than existing clustering protocols in heterogeneous WSNs. Our protocol achieve longer stability, lifetime and more effective messages than Distributed Energy Efficient Clustering (DEEC), Developed DEEC (DDEEC) and Enhanced DEEC (EDEEC).

In this paper, we propose a novel clustering based routing technique: Enhanced Developed Distributed Energy Efficient Clustering scheme (EDDEEC) for heterogeneous WSNs. Constant monitoring of critical situations attracted researchers to utilize WSNs at vast platforms. The main focus in WSNs is to enhance network life-time as much as one could, for efficient and optimal utilization of resources. Different approaches based upon clustering are proposed for optimum functionality. Network life-time is always related with energy of sensor nodes deployed at remote areas for constant and fault tolerant monitoring. In this work, we propose Quadrature-LEACH (Q-LEACH) for homogenous networks which enhances stability period, network life-time and throughput quiet significantly.

So large number of sensor nodes are deployed for such applications, which can work autonomously. Due to small power batteries in WSNs, efficient utilization of battery power is an important factor. Clustering is an efficient technique to extend life time of sensor networks by reducing the energy consumption. In this paper, we propose a new protocol; Energy Consumption Rate based Stable Election Protocol (ECRSEP). Our CH selection scheme is based on the weighted election probabilities of each node according to the Energy Consumption Rate (ECR) of each node. We compare results of our proposed protocol with Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH), Distributed Energy Efficient Clustering (DEEC), Stable Election Protocol (SEP), and Enhanced SEP(ESEP). Our simulation results show that our proposed protocol, ECRSEP outperforms all these protocols in terms of network stability and network lifetime.
