Abstract:
A derangement $k$-representation of a graph $G$ is a map $π$ of $V(G)$ to the symmetric group $S_k$, such that for any two vertices $v$ and $u$ of $V(G)$, $v $ and $u$ are adjacent if and only if $π(v)(i) \neq π(u)(i)$ for each $i \in \{1,2,3,\ldots,k\}$. The derangement representation number of $G$ denoted by $drn(G)$, is the minimum of $k$ such that $G$ has a derangement $k$-representation. In t…

The derangement representation number of $G$ denoted by $drn(G)$, is the minimum of $k$ such that $G$ has a derangement $k$-representation. In this paper, we prove that any graph has a derangement $k$-representation. Also, we obtain some lower and upper bounds for $drn(G)$, in terms of the basic parameters of $G$. Finally, we determine the exact value or give the better bounds of the derangement representation number of some classes of graphs.

Abstract:
A $vi$-simultaneous proper $k$-coloring of a graph $G$ is a coloring of all vertices and incidences of the graph in which any two adjacent or incident elements in the set $V(G)\cup I(G)$ receive distinct colors, where $I(G)$ is the set of incidences of $G$. The $vi$-simultaneous chromatic number, denoted by $χ_{vi}(G)$, is the smallest integer $k$ such that $G$ has a $vi$-simultaneous proper $k$-c…

The $vi$-simultaneous chromatic number, denoted by $χ_{vi}(G)$, is the smallest integer $k$ such that $G$ has a $vi$-simultaneous proper $k$-coloring. In [M. Mozafari-Nia, M. N. Iradmusa, A note on coloring of $\frac{3}{3}$-power of subquartic graphs, Vol. 79, No.3, 2021] $vi$-simultaneous proper coloring of graphs with maximum degree $4$ is investigated and they conjectured that for any graph $G$ with maximum degree $Δ\geq 2$, $vi$-simultaneous proper coloring of $G$ is at most $2Δ+1$. In [M. Mozafari-Nia, M. N. Iradmusa, Simultaneous coloring of vertices and incidences of graphs, arXiv:2205.07189, 2022] the correctness of the conjecture for some classes of graphs such as $k$-degenerated graphs, cycles, forests, complete graphs, regular bipartite graphs is investigated. In this paper, we prove that the $vi$-simultaneous chromatic number of any outerplanar graph $G$ is either $Δ+2$ or $Δ+3$, where $Δ$ is the maximum degree of $G$.

Abstract:
An $n$-subdivision of a graph $G$ is a graph constructed by replacing a path of length $n$ instead of each edge of $G$ and an $m$-power of $G$ is a graph with the same vertices as $G$ and any two vertices of $G$ at distance at most $m$ are adjacent. In this paper, we introduce the simultaneous coloring of vertices and incidences of graphs and show that the minimum number of colors for simultaneous proper coloring of vertices and incidences of $G$, denoted by $χ_{vi}(G)$, is equal to the chromatic number of $G^{\frac{3}{3}}$. Also by determining the exact value or the upper bound for the said parameter, we investigate the correctness of the conjecture for some classes of graphs such as $k$-degenerated graphs, cycles, forests, complete graphs, and regular bipartite graphs. In addition, we investigate the relationship between this new chromatic number and the other parameters of graphs.

Abstract:
Let $G$ be a graph and $r\in\mathbb{N}$. The matching Kneser graph $\textsf{KG}(G, rK_2)$ is a graph whose vertex set is the set of $r$-matchings in $G$ and two vertices are adjacent if their corresponding matchings are edge-disjoint. In [Alishahi, M. and Hajiabolhassan, H., On the Chromatic Number of Matching Kneser Graphs, Combin. Probab. and Comput. 29 (2020), no. 1, 1--21.] it was conjectured…

In [Alishahi, M. and Hajiabolhassan, H., On the Chromatic Number of Matching Kneser Graphs, Combin. Probab. and Comput. 29 (2020), no. 1, 1--21.] it was conjectured that for any connected graph $G$ and positive integer $r\geq 2$, the chromatic number of $\textsf{KG}(G, rK_2)$ is equal to $|E(G)|-\textsf{ex}(G,rK_2)$, where $\textsf{ex}(G,rK_2)$ denotes the largest number of edges in $G$ avoiding a matching of size $r$. In this note, we show that the conjecture is not true for snarks.

A set $\mathcal{S}$ of derangements (fixed-point-free permutations) of a set $V$ generates a digraph with vertex set $V$ and arcs $(x,x^σ)$ for $x\in V$ and $σ\in\mathcal{S}$. We address the problem of characterising those infinite (simple loopless) digraphs which are generated by finite sets of derangements. The case of finite digraphs was addressed in earlier work by the second and third authors. A criterion is given for derangement generation which resembles the criterion given by De Bruijn and Erdős for vertex colourings of graphs in that the property for an infinite digraph is determined by properties of its finite sub-digraphs. The derangement generation property for a digraph is linked with the existence of a finite $1$-factor cover for an associated bipartite (undirected) graph.

For any non-empty set $X$ and a non-empty subset $S$ of $\Der(X)$, the set of derangments of $X$, we define the derangement action digraph $\rm\overrightarrow{DA}(X;S)$ to have vertex set $X$, and an arc from $x$ to $y$ if and only if $y=x^s$ for some $s\in S$. In common with Cayley graphs and digraphs, derangement action digraphs may be useful to model networks as the same routing and communication scheme can be implemented at each vertex. We determine necessary and sufficient conditions on $S$ under which $\rm\overrightarrow{DA}(X;S)$ may be viewed as a simple graph of valency $|S|$, and we call such graphs derangement action graphs. Also we investigate the structural and symmetry properties of these digraphs and graphs. Several open problems are posed and many examples are given.

Abstract:
We introduce a family of graphs that generalises the class of Cayley graphs. We determine when two-sided Cayley graphs are simple undirected graphs, and give sufficient conditions for them to be connected, vertex-transitive, or Cayley graphs. Several open problems are posed. Many examples are given, including one on 12 vertices with connected components of sizes 4 and 8.

Albertson, Grossman and Haas [1] conjectured that at least $\frac{tn}{χ_\ell}$ vertices of $G$ can be colored from these lists. In this paper we find some new results in partial list coloring which help us to show that the conjecture is true for at least half of the numbers of the set $\{1,2,...,χ_\ell(G)-1\}$. In addition we introduce a new related conjecture and finally we present some results about this conjecture.
