We construct traveling wave solutions by variational methods and see that for the non mass resonance case there exist specific traveling wave solutions which correspond to the solutions for ``zero mass" case in nonlinear elliptic equations. We also establish the new global existence result for oscillating data as an application. Both of our results essentially come from the lack of Galilean invariance in the system.

With the spread of Data Center Interconnect (DCI) and local 5G, there is a growing need for dynamically established connections between customer locations through high-capacity optical links. However, link parameters such as signal power profile and amplifier gains are often unknown and have to be measured by experts, preventing dynamic path provisioning due to the time-consuming manual measurements. Although several techniques for estimating the unknown parameters of such alien access links have been proposed, no work has presented architecture and protocol that drive the estimation techniques to establish an optical path between the customer locations. Our study aims to automatically connect customer-owned transceivers via alien access links with optimal quality of transmission (QoT). We first propose an architecture and protocol for cooperative optical path design between a customer and carrier, utilizing a state-of-the-art technique for estimating link parameters. We then implement the proposed protocol in a software-defined network (SDN) controller and white-box transponders using an open API. The experiments demonstrate that the optical path is dynamically established via alien access links in 137 seconds from the transceiver's cold start. Lastly, we discuss the QoT accuracy obtained with this method and the remaining issues.

Given a prescribed asymptotic profile, which has a logarithmic phase correction compared with the free evolution, we construct a unique global solution which converges to the profile. As a consequence, the existence of modified wave operators for localized small scattering data is obtained. We also study the same problem for the case with the critical inverse-square potential under the radial symmetry. In the present paper, we consider the linear wave equation with the scale-invariant dam** and mass. It is known that the global behavior of the solution depends on the size of the coefficients in front of the dam** and mass at initial time $t=0$. Indeed, the solution satisfies the similar decay estimate to that of the corresponding heat equation if it is large and to that of the modified wave equation if it is small. In our previous paper, we obtain the scattering result and its asymptotic order for the data in the energy space $H^1\times L^2$ when the coefficients are in the wave regime. In fact, the threshold of the coefficients relies on the spatial decay of the initial data. Namely, it varies depending on $r$ when the initial data is in $L^r$ ($1\leq r < 2$). In the present paper, we will show the scattering result and the asymptotic order in the wave regime for $L^r$-data, which is wider than the wave regime for the data in the energy space. Moreover, we give an improvement of the asymptotic order obtained in our previous paper for the data in the energy space.

We consider the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Cauchy problem for the defocusing nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation (NLKG) with exponential nonlinearity in the one spatial dimension with data in the energy space $H^1(\mathbb{R}) \times L^2(\mathbb{R})$. We prove that any energy solution has a global bound of the $L^6_{t,x}$ space-time norm, and hence scatters in $H^1(\mathbb{R}) \times L^2(\mathbb{R})$ as $t\rightarrow\pm \infty$. The proof is based on the argument by Killip-Stovall-Visan (Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 364 (2012), no. 3, 1571--1631). However, since well-posedness in $H^{1/2}(\mathbb{R}) \times H^{-1/2}(\mathbb{R})$ for NLKG with the exponential nonlinearity holds only for small initial data, we use the $L_t^6 W^{s-1/2,6}_x$-norm for some $s>\frac{1}{2}$ instead of the $L_{t,x}^6$-norm, where $W_x^{s,p}$ denotes the $s$-th order $L^p$-based Sobolev space.

We study the Cauchy problem of the damped wave equation \begin{align*}
\partial_{t}^2 u - Δu + \partial_t u = 0 \end{align*} and give sharp $L^p$-$L^q$ estimates of the solution for $1\le q \le p < \infty\ (p\neq 1)$ with derivative loss. This is an improvement of the so-called Matsumura estimates. Moreover, as its application, we consider the nonlinear problem with initial data in $(H^s\cap H_r^β) \times (H^{s-1} \cap L^r)$ with $r \in (1,2]$, $s\ge 0$, and $β= (n-1)|\frac{1}{2}-\frac{1}{r}|$, and prove the local and global existence of solutions. In particular, we prove the existence of the global solution with small initial data for the critical nonlinearity with the power $1+\frac{2r}{n}$, while it is known that the critical power $1+\frac{2}{n}$ belongs to the blow-up region when $r=1$. We also discuss the asymptotic behavior of the global solution in supercritical cases. Moreover, we present blow-up results in subcritical cases. We give estimates of lifespan and blow-up rates by an ODE argument.

It is known that small data blow-up occurs when $1<p< p_F$ and, on the other hand, small data global existence holds when $p>p_F$, where $p_F:=1+2/n$ is the Fujita exponent. The sharp estimate of the lifespan was well studied when $1<p< p_F$. In the critical case $p=p_F$, the lower estimate of the lifespan was also investigated. Recently, Lai and Zhou obtained the sharp upper estimate of the lifespan when $p=p_F$ and $b(t)=1$. In the present paper, we give the sharp upper estimate of the lifespan when $p=p_F$ and $b(t)\thickapprox (t+1)^{-β}$ with $β\in [-1,1)$ by the Lai--Zhou method.

We give a sufficient condition for global existence of the solutions to a generalized derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation (gDNLS) by a variational argument. The variational argument is applicable to a cubic derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation (DNLS). For (DNLS), Wu proved that the solution with the initial data $u_0$ is global if $\left\Vert u_0 \right\Vert_{L^2}^2<4π$ by the sharp Gagliardo--Nirenberg inequality in the paper "Global well-posedness on the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation", Analysis & PDE 8 (2015), no. 5, 1101--1112. The variational argument gives us another proof of the global existence for (DNLS). Moreover, by the variational argument, we can show that the solution to (DNLS) is global if the initial data $u_0$ satisfies that $\left\Vert u_0 \right\Vert_{L^2}^2=4π$ and the momentum $P(u_0)$ is negative.

We present results from a deep (1 sigma = 5.7 mJy beam^{-1} per 20.8 km s^{-1} velocity channel) ^{12}CO(1-0) interferometric observation of the central 60" region of the nearby edge-on starburst galaxy NGC 2146 observed with the Nobeyama Millimeter Array (NMA). Two diffuse expanding molecular superbubbles and one molecular outflow are successfully detected. One molecular superbubble, with a size of ~1 kpc and an expansion velocity of ~50 km s^{-1}, is located below the galactic disk; a second molecular superbubble, this time with a size of ~700 pc and an expansion velocity of ~35 km s^{-1}, is also seen in the position-velocity diagram; the molecular outflow is located above the galactic disk with an extent ~2 kpc, expanding with a velocity of up to ~200 km s^{-1}. The molecular outflow has an arc-like structure, and is located at the front edge of the soft X-ray outflow. In addition, the kinetic energy (~3E55 erg) and the pressure (~1 E-12 \pm 1 dyne cm ^{-2}) of the molecular outflow is comparable to or smaller than that of the hot thermal plasma, suggesting that the hot plasma pushes the molecular gas out from the galactic disk. Inside the ~1 kpc size molecular superbubble, diffuse soft X-ray emission seems to exist. But since the superbubble lies behind the inclined galactic disk, it is largely absorbed by the molecular gas.

The high energy resolution and low background, particularly in the hard X-ray band, of the X-ray Imaging Spectrometer onboard Suzaku provide excellent spectra of the Galactic center diffuse X-rays (GCDX). This paper reports on the results of spatially resolved spectroscopy of GCDX. The most pronounced features of GCDX are the K-shell transition lines from neutral (FeI) and He-like (FeXXV) irons at energies of 6.4keV and 6.7keV, respectively. The fluxes of these lines are non-uniformly and asymmetrically distributed with respect to Sgr A*. The 6.4keV lines are particularly bright on the positive side of the Galactic longitude (east-side) with clumpy structures. A bright clump near the GC exhibits a time variability over a timescale of a few years. Neither the 6.4keV nor 6.7keV line flux shows close proportionality to the continuum flux (5--10keV band); the 6.4keV line shows excess on the high flux side, and vice versa for the 6.7keV line. On the other hand, the sum of the 6.4keV plus 6.7keV line fluxes with a ratio of 1:2 shows good proportionality to the continuum flux, and hence we phenomenologically decomposed the continuum flux of the GCDX into the 6.4keV- and 6.7keV-associated continuums with a flux ratio of 1:2. Based on these facts, we have tried to estimate the contribution of diffuse and integrated flux of point sources to the GCDX.

Although these 6.40 keV spots have spatial extensions of a few pc scale, the morphology and flux of the 6.40 keV line has been time variable for 10 years, in contrast to the constant flux of the Fe XXV-K$α$ line at 6.67 keV in the Galactic diffuse X-ray emission. This time variation is mostly due to M 0.66$-$0.02; the 6.40 keV line flux declined in 2001 and decreased to 60% in the time span 1994--2005. The other spot G 0.570$-$0.018 is found to be conspicuous only in the Chandra observation in 2000. From the long-term time variability ($\sim$10 years) of the Sgr B2 complex, we infer that the Galactic Center black hole Sgr A$^*$ was X-ray bright in the past 300 year and exhibited a time variability with a period of a few years.

Emission lines of S XV, Fe I, Fe XXV, and Fe XXVI were clearly detected in the spectrum. We found that the Fe XXV and Fe XXVI line emissions smoothly distribute over the Sgr B1 and B2 regions connecting from the GC. This result suggests that the GC hot plasma extends at least up to the Sgr B region with a constant temperature. There are two diffuse X-ray sources in the observed region. One of the two (G0.42-0.04) is newly discovered, and exhibits a strong S XV Ka emission line, suggesting a candidate for a supernova remnant located in the GC region. The other one (M0.51-0.10), having a prominent Fe I Ka emission line and a strongly absorbed continuum, is likely to be an X-ray reflection nebula. There is no near source bright enough to irradiate M0.51-0.10. However, the Fe I Ka emission can be explained if Sgr A* was ~ 10^6 times brighter 300 years ago, the light travel time for 100 pc to M0.51-0.10, than it is at present.

NeXT (New X-ray Telescope) is the next Japanese X-ray astronomical satellite mission after the Suzaku satellite. NeXT aims to perform wide band imaging spectroscopy. Due to the successful development of a multilayer coated mirror, called a supermirror, NeXT can focus X-rays in the energy range from 0.1 keV up to 80 keV. To cover this wide energy range, we are in the process of develo** a hybrid X-ray camera, Wideband X-ray Imager (WXI) as a focal plane detector of the supermirror. The WXI consists of X-ray CCDs (SXI) and CdTe pixelized detectors (HXI), which cover the lower and higher X-ray energy bands of 0.1-80 keV, respectively. The X-ray CCDs of the SXI are stacked above the CdTe pixelized detectors of the HXI. The X-ray CCDs of the SXI detect soft X-rays below $\sim$ 10 keV and allow hard X-rays pass into the CdTe detectors of the HXI without loss. Thus, we have been develo** a "back-supportless CCD" with a thick depletion layer, a thinned silicon wafer, and a back-supportless structure. In this paper, we report the development and performances of an evaluation model of CCD for the SXI, "CCD-NeXT1". We successfully fabricated two types of CCD-NeXT1, unthinned CCDs with 625-um thick wafer and 150-um thick thinned CCDs. By omitting the polishing process when making the thinned CCDs, we confirmed that the polishing process does not impact the X-ray performance. In addition, we did not find significant differences in the X-ray performance between the two types of CCDs. The energy resolution and readout noise are $\sim$ 140 eV (FWHM) at 5.9 keV and $\sim$5 electrons (RMS), respectively. The estimated thickness of the depletion layer is $\sim$80 um. The performances almost satisfy the requirements of the baseline plan of the SXI.

In addition, K alpha lines of NiI and NiXXVII, K beta of FeI, FeXXV and FeXXVI, and K gamma of FeXXV and FeXXVI are detected for the first time. The center energy of K alpha of FeXXV favors collisional excitation as the origin for this line emission. The ionization temperature determined from the flux ratio of K alpha of FeXXV and FeXXVI is similar to the electron temperature determined from the flux ratio of K alpha and K beta of FeXXV, which are in the range of 5-7 keV. Consequently, the Galactic Center diffuse X-rays (GCDX) are consistent with emission from a plasma nearly in ionization equilibrium. The radio complex Sgr B region also exhibits K alpha lines of FeI, FeXXV and FeXXVI. The 6.7 keV line (FeXXV) map exhibits a local excess at (l,b) = (0.612, 0.01), and could be a new young SNR. We have observed the diffuse X-ray emission from the Galactic center (GC) using the X-ray Imaging Spectrometer (XIS) on Suzaku. The high-energy resolution and the low-background orbit provide excellent spectra of the GC diffuse X-rays (GCDX). The XIS found many emission lines in the GCDX near the energy of K-shell transitions of iron and nickel. The most pronounced features are FeI K alpha at 6.4 keV and K-shell absorption edge at 7.1 keV, which are from neutral and/or low ionization states of iron, and the K-shell lines at 6.7 keV and 6.9 keV from He-like (FeXXV K alpha) and hydrogenic (FeXXVI Ly alpha) ions of iron. In addition, K alpha lines from neutral or low ionization nickel (NiI K alpha) and He-like nickel (NiXXVII K alpha), and FeI K beta, FeXXV K beta, FeXXVI Ly beta, FeXXV K gamma and FeXXVI Ly gamma are detected for the first time. The line center energies and widths of FeXXV K alpha and FeXXVI Ly alpha favor a collisional excitation (CE) plasma for the origin of the GCDX. The electron temperature determined from the line flux ratio of FeXXV K alpha / FeXXV K beta is similar to the ionization temperature determined from that of FeXXV K alpha /FeXXVI Ly alpha. Thus it would appear that the GCDX plasma is close to ionization equilibrium. The 6.7 keV flux and temperature distribution to the galactic longitude is smooth and monotonic,in contrast to the integrated point source flux distribution. These facts support the hypothesis that the GCDX is truly diffuse emission rather than the integration of the outputs of a large number of unresolved point sources. In addition, our results demonstrate that the chemical composition of Fe in the interstellar gas near the GC is constrained to be about 3.5 times solar.

The magnetorotational instability(MRI) in the Kerr spacetime is studied on a 3+1 viewpoint. The Maxwell's equations are expressed in a circularly orbiting observer's frame that co-rotates with matter in Keplerian orbits. There exist large proper growth rates in MRI around a rapidly rotating black hole. The large "centrifugal force" and the rapid variations of magnetic fields are caused by the rotation of spacetime geometry. As the result, in the extreme Kerr case the maximum proper growth rate at $r=r_{ms}$ becomes about twelve times as large as that in Schwartzshield case.

Abstract:
We present six monitoring observations of the starburst galaxy NGC 2146 using the Chandra X-ray Observatory. We have detected 67 point sources in the 8'.7 x 8'.7 field of view of the ACIS-S detector. Six of these sources were Ultra-Luminous X-ray Sources, the brightest of which has a luminosity of 5 x 10^{39} ergs s^{-1}. One of the source, with a luminosity of ~1 x 10^{39} ergs s^{-1}, is coinc…

One of the source, with a luminosity of ~1 x 10^{39} ergs s^{-1}, is coincident with the dynamical center location, as derived from the ^{12}CO rotation curve. We suggest that this source may be a low-luminosity active galactic nucleus. We have produced a table where the positions and main characteristics of the Chandra-detected sources are reported. The comparison between the positions of the X-ray sources and those of compact sources detected in NIR or radio does not indicate any definite counterpart. Taking profit of the relatively large number of sources detected, we have derived a logN-logS relation and a luminosity function. The former shows a break at \~10^{-15} ergs cm^{-2} s^{-1}, that we interpret as due to a detection limit. The latter has a slope above the break of 0.71, which is similar to those found in the other starburst galaxies. In addition, a diffuse X-ray emission has been detected in both, soft (0.5--2.0keV) and hard (2.0--10.0keV), energy bands. The spectra of the diffuse component has been fitted with a two (hard and soft) components. The hard power-law component, with a luminosity of ~4 x 10^{39} ergs s^{-1}, is likely originated by unresolved point sources, while the soft component is better described by a thermal plasma model with a temperature of 0.5keV and high abundances for Mg and Si.

Neutron electric dipole moment (EDM) due to single quark EDM and to the transition EDM is calculated in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. Assuming that the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix at the grand unification scale is the only source of CP violation, complex phases are induced in parameters of soft supersymmetry breaking at low energies. Chargino one-loop diagram is found to give the dominant contribution of the order of $10^{-27}\sim 10^{-29}\:e\cdot$cm for quark EDM, assuming the light chargino mass and the universal scalar mass to be $50$ GeV and $100$ GeV, respectively. Therefore the neutron EDM in this class of model is difficult to measure experimentally. Gluino one-loop diagram also contributes due to the flavor changing gluino coupling. The transition EDM is found to give dominant contributions for certain parameter regions.

We develop a perturbation theory of four-dimensional topological 2-form gravity without cosmological constant.
A 2-form and an $SU(2)$ connection 1-form are used as fundamental variables instead of metric.
There is no quantum correction from two-loop and higher orders in covariant gauge, in Landau gauge and in background covariant gauge.
We improve naive dimensional regularization and calculate an exact quantum correction at one-loop order.
We observe that the renormalizability depends on gauge choice in topological 2-form gravity.
It is unrenormalizable in the covariant gauge and in the background covariant gauge.
On the other hand in the Landau gauge, we obtain finite but $SU(2)$ non-covariant quantum corrections.
There may exist anomaly for the $SU(2)$ gauge symmetry.

Only when the soft supersymmetry breaking is taken into account, B is proportional to the primordial B-L in the supersymmetric standard models. The ratio $B/(B-L)$ is found to be about one percent less than the nonsupersymmetric case. Even if the primordial B-L vanishes, scalar-leptons can be more efficient than leptons to generate B provided that mixing angles $þ$ among scalar leptons satisfy $|þ| < 10^{-8} (T/{GeV})^{1/2}$.
