Differentiability of quadratic forward-backward SDEs with rough drift
Abstract: In this paper, we consider quadratic forward-backward SDEs (QFBSDEs), for {which} the drift in the forward equation does not satisfy the standard globally Lipschitz condition and the driver of the backward system {possesses} nonlinearity of type $f(|y|)|z|^2,$ where $f$ is any locally integrable function. Hurst index estimation in stochastic differential equations driven by fractional Brownian motion
Abstract: We consider the problem of Hurst index estimation for solutions of stochastic differential equations driven by an additive fractional Brownian motion. Using techniques of the Malliavin calculus, we analyze the asymptotic behavior of the quadratic variations of the solution, defined via higher order increments. Then we apply our results to construct and study estimators for the Hurst index.

The exit problem for diffusions with time-periodic drift and stochastic resonance
Abstract: Physical notions of stochastic resonance for potential diffusions in periodically changing double-well potentials such as the spectral power amplification have proved to be defective. They are not robust for the passage to their effective dynamics: continuous-time finite-state Markov chains describing the rough features of transitions between different domains of attraction of metastable points.… ▽ More

The Shannon information of filtrations and the additional logarithmic utility of insiders
Abstract: The background for the general mathematical link between utility and information theory investigated in this paper is a simple financial market model with two kinds of small traders: less informed traders and insiders, whose extra information is represented by an enlargement of the other agents' filtration. The expected logarithmic utility increment, that is, the difference of the insider's and… ▽ More

Transition times and stochastic resonance for multidimensional diffusions with time periodic drift: A large deviations approach
Abstract: We consider potential type dynamical systems in finite dimensions with two meta-stable states. They are subject to two sources of perturbation: a slow external periodic perturbation of period $T$ and a small Gaussian random perturbation of intensity $ε$, and, therefore, are mathematically described as weakly time inhomogeneous diffusion processes. A system is in stochastic resonance, provided th… ▽ More

First exit times of solutions of non-linear stochastic differential equations driven by symmetric Levy processes with alpha-stable components
Abstract: We study the exit problem of solutions of the stochastic differential equation dX(t)=-U'(X(t))dt+epsilon dL(t) from bounded or unbounded intervals which contain the unique asymptotically stable critical point of the deterministic dynamical system dY=-U'(Y) dt. The process L is composed of a standard Brownian motion and a symmetric alpha-stable Levy process. Using probabilistic estimates we show… ▽ More

Stochastic Resonance in Two-State Markov Chains
Abstract: In this paper we introduce a model which provides a new approach to the phenomenon of stochastic resonance. It is based on the study of the properties of the stationary distribution of the underlying stochastic process. We derive the formula for the spectral power amplification coefficient, study its asymptotic properties and dependence on parameters.
