Eigenvalues and Critical Groups of Adinkras
Abstract: Adinkras are signed graphs used to study supersymmetry in physics. We provide an introduction to these objects, and study the properties of their signed adjacency and signed Laplacian matrices. These matrices each have exactly two distinct eigenvalues (of equal multiplicity), making Adinkras closely related to the notions of strongly regular graphs. We also study the critical groups of Adinkras, a… ▽ More

Adinkras: Graphs of Clifford Algebra Representations, Supersymmetry, and Codes
Abstract: An Adinkra is a graph from the study of supersymmetry in particle physics, but it can be adapted to study Clifford algebra representations. The graph in this context is called a Cliffordinkra, and puts some standard ideas in Clifford algebra representations in a geometric and visual context. In the past few years there have been developments in Adinkras that have shown how they are connected to… ▽ More

The Signed Monodromy Group of an Adinkra
Abstract: An ordering of colours in an Adinkra leads to an embedding of this Adinkra into a Riemann surface $X$, and a branched covering map $β_X:X\to\mathbb{CP}^1$. This paper shows how the dashing of edges in an Adinkra determines a signed permutation version of the monodromy group, and shows that it is isomorphic to a Salingaros Vee group.

Generating all 36,864 Four-Color Adinkras via Signed Permutations and Organizing into $\ell$- and $\tilde{\ell}$-Equivalence Classes
Abstract: Recently, all 1,358,954,496 values of the gadget between the 36,864 adinkras with four colors, four bosons, and four fermions have been computed. In this paper, we further analyze these results in terms of $BC_3$, the signed permutation group of three elements, and $BC_4$, the signed permutation group of four elements. It is shown how all 36,864 adinkras can be generated via $BC_4$ boson $\times$… ▽ More

Geometrization of $N$-Extended $1$-Dimensional Supersymmetry Algebras II
Abstract: The problem of classifying off-shell representations of the $N$ -extended one-dimensional super Poincaré algebra is closely related to the study of a class of decorated $N$-regular, $N$-edge colored bipartite graphs known as Adinkras. In previous work we canonically embedded these graphs into explicitly uniformized Riemann surfaces via the "dessins d'enfant" construction of Grothendieck. The Adink… ▽ More

N=4 and N=8 SUSY Quantum Mechanics and Klein's Vierergruppe
Abstract: Sets of signed permutation matrices satisfying the GR(4,4) algebra are shown to be, up to sign, left cosets of Klein's famous Vierergruppe. In this way we verify the count done by computer in 2012, and set it in a more significant mathematical context. A similar analysis works for GR(1,1), GR(2,2) and GR(8,8).

Structural Theory of 2-d Adinkras
Abstract: Adinkras are combinatorial objects developed to study 1-dimensional supersymmetry representations. Recently, 2-d Adinkras have been developed to study 2-dimensional supersymmetry. In this paper, we classify all 2-d Adinkras, confirming a conjecture of T. Hübsch. Along the way, we obtain other structural results, including a simple characterization of Hübsch's even-split doubly even code.

On General Off-Shell Representations of Worldline (1D) Supersymmetry
Abstract: Every finite-dimensional unitary representation of the N-extended worldline supersymmetry without central charges may be obtained by a sequence of differential transformations from a direct sum of minimal Adinkras, simple supermultiplets that are identifiable with representations of the Clifford algebra. The data specifying this procedure is a sequence of subspaces of the direct sum of Adinkras, w… ▽ More

An application of Cubical Cohomology to Adinkras and Supersymmetry Representations
Abstract: An Adinkra is a class of graphs with certain signs marking its vertices and edges, which encodes off-shell representations of the super Poincaré algebra. The markings on the vertices and edges of an Adinkra are cochains for cubical cohomology. This article explores the cubical cohomology of Adinkras, treating these markings analogously to characteristic classes on smooth manifolds.

Pure and entangled N=4 linear supermultiplets and their one-dimensional sigma-models
Abstract: "Pure" homogeneous linear supermultiplets (minimal and non-minimal) of the N=4-Extended one-dimensional Supersymmetry Algebra are classified. "Pure" means that they admit at least one graphical presentation (the corresponding graph/graphs are known as "Adinkras"). We further prove the existence of "entangled" linear supermultiplets which do not admit a graphical presentation, by constructing an ex… ▽ More

Codes and Supersymmetry in One Dimension
Abstract: Adinkras are diagrams that describe many useful supermultiplets in D=1 dimensions. We show that the topology of the Adinkra is uniquely determined by a doubly even code. Conversely, every doubly even code produces a possible topology of an Adinkra. A computation of doubly even codes results in an enumeration of these Adinkra topologies up to N=28, and for minimal supermultiplets, up to N=32.

Dimensional Enhancement via Supersymmetry
Abstract: We explain how the representation theory associated with supersymmetry in diverse dimensions is encoded within the representation theory of supersymmetry in one time-like dimension. This is enabled by algebraic criteria, derived, exhibited, and utilized in this paper, which indicate which subset of one-dimensional supersymmetric models describe "shadows" of higher-dimensional models. Adinkras for Clifford Algebras, and Worldline Supermultiplets

These diagrams represent the component fields in a supermultiplet as vertices, and the action of the supersymmetry generators as edges. In a previous work, we showed that the chromotopology (topology with colors) of an Adinkra must come from a doubly even binary linea… ▽ More

Relating Doubly-Even Error-Correcting Codes, Graphs, and Irreducible Representations of N-Extended Supersymmetry
Abstract: Previous work has shown that the classification of indecomposable off-shell representations of N-supersymmetry, depicted as Adinkras, may be factored into specifying the topologies available to Adinkras, and then the height-assignments for each topological type. The latter problem being solved by a recursive mechanism that generates all height-assignments within a topology, it remains to classif… ▽ More

Off-shell supersymmetry and filtered Clifford supermodules

What do Topologists want from Seiberg--Witten theory? (A review of four-dimensional topology for physicists)
Abstract: In 1983, Donaldson shocked the topology world by using instantons from physics to prove new theorems about four-dimensional manifolds, and he developed new topological invariants. In 1988, Witten showed how these invariants could be obtained by correlation functions for a twisted N=2 SUSY gauge theory.
