The PHENIX Forward Silicon Vertex Detector
Abstract: A new silicon detector has been developed to provide the PHENIX experiment with precise charged particle tracking at forward and backward rapidity. The Forward Silicon Vertex Tracker (FVTX) was installed in PHENIX prior to the 2012 run period of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The FVTX is composed of two annular endcaps, each with four stations of silicon mini-strip sensors, covering a… ▽ More

MT: a Mathematica package to compute convolutions
Abstract: We introduce the \prog{Mathematica} package \prog{MT} which can be used to compute, both analytically and numerically, convolutions involving harmonic polylogarithms, polynomials or generalized functions. As applications contributions to next-to-next-to-next-to leading order Higgs boson production and the Drell-Yan process are discussed.

On the Higgs boson pair production at the LHC
Abstract: We compute the production cross section of a pair of Standard Model Higgs bosons at the LHC at next-to-leading order in QCD, including corrections in inverse powers of the top quark mass. We calculate these power corrections through ${\cal O}(1/M_t^8)$ and study their relevance for phenomenology of the double Higgs production. We find that power corrections are significant, even for moderate value… ▽ More

Higgs boson production at the LHC: NNLO partonic cross sections through order $ε$ and convolutions with splitting functions to N$^3$LO
Abstract: We consider Higgs boson production at hadron colliders in the gluon fusion channel and compute higher order terms in the regularization parameter $ε$. In particular, the next-to-next-to-leading order cross section is evaluated including order $ε$ terms. These results are used to compute all convolutions with the splitting functions entering the next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order cross section.

Moments of heavy quark correlators with two masses: exact mass dependence to three loops
Abstract: We compute moments of non-diagonal correlators with two massive quarks. Results are obtained where no restriction on the ratio of the masses is assumed. Both analytical and numerical methods are applied in order to evaluate the two-scale master integrals at three loops. We provide explicit results for the latter which are useful for other calculations. As a by-product we obtain results for the ele… ▽ More

Simultaneous decoupling of bottom and charm quarks
Abstract: Parameters and light fields of the QCD Lagrangian with two heavy flavours, b and c, are related to those in the low-energy effective theory without these flavours, to three-loop accuracy taking into account the exact dependence on m_c/m_b. Similar relations for bilinear quark currents are also considered.

Simultaneous decoupling of bottom and charm quarks
Abstract: We compute the decoupling relations for the strong coupling, the light quark masses, the gauge-fixing parameter, and the light fields in QCD with heavy charm and bottom quarks to three-loop accuracy taking into account the exact dependence on $m_c/m_b$. The application of a low-energy theorem allows the extraction of the three-loop effective Higgs-gluon coupling valid for extensions of the Standar… ▽ More

Moments of heavy-light current correlators up to three loops
Abstract: We consider moments of the non-diagonal vector, axial-vector, scalar and pseudo-scalar current correlators involving two different massive quark flavours up to three-loop accuracy. Expansions around the limits where one mass is zero and the equal-mass case are computed. These results are used to construct approximations valid for arbitrary mass values.

Single Event Effects in the Pixel readout chip for BTeV
Abstract: In future experiments the readout electronics for pixel detectors is required to be resistant to a very high radiation level. In this paper we report on irradiation tests performed on several preFPIX2 prototype pixel readout chips for the BTeV experiment exposed to a 200 MeV proton beam. The prototype chips have been implemented in commercial 0.25 um CMOS processes following radiation tolerant d… ▽ More

Performance of prototype BTeV silicon pixel detectors in a high energy pion beam
Abstract: The silicon pixel vertex detector is a key element of the BTeV spectrometer. Sensors bump-bonded to prototype front-end devices were tested in a high energy pion beam at Fermilab. The spatial resolution and occupancies as a function of the pion incident angle were measured for various sensor-readout combinations. The data are compared with predictions from our Monte Carlo simulation and very goo… ▽ More
