In this study, we approach the analysis of a degenerate nonlinear functional in one dimension, accommodating a degenerate weight w. Building upon recent findings from [9, 12], our investigation focuses on establishing an explicit relaxation formula for a functional exhibiting p-growth for $1\leq p<+\infty$. Building upon recent findings from [9, 12], our investigation focuses on establishing an explicit relaxation formula for a functional exhibiting p-growth for $1\leq p<+\infty$. For the case $1<p<\infty$, we adopt the approach developed in [12], where some assumptions like doubling or Muckenhoupt conditions are dropped. Moreover, for $p = 1$, we leverage novel concepts introduced in [9]. In both cases, our main tools consist of proving the validity of a weighted Poincaré inequality involving an auxiliary weight.

In this work, we demonstrate that a functional modeling the self-aggregation of stochastically distributed lipid molecules can be obtained as the $Γ$-limit of a family of discrete energies driven by a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables. These random variables are intended to describe the asymptotic behavior of lipid molecules that satisfy an incompressibility condition. The discrete energy keeps into account the interactions between particles. We resort to transportation maps to compare functionals defined on discrete and continuous domains, and we prove that, under suitable conditions on the scaling of these maps as the number of random variables increases, the limit functional features an interfacial term with a Wasserstein-type penalization.

We consider homogeneous open quantum random walks on a lattice with finite dimensional local Hilbert space and we study in particular the position process of the quantum trajectories of the walk. We prove that the properly rescaled position process asymptotically approaches a mixture of Gaussian measures. We can generalize the existing central limit type results and give more explicit expressions for the involved asymptotic quantities, drop** any additional condition on the walk. We use deformation and spectral techniques, together with reducibility properties of the local channel associated with the open quantum walk. Further, we can provide a large deviations' principle in the case of a fast recurrent local channel and at least lower and upper bounds in the general case.

Weighted Meyers estimates in perforated domains

Abstract:
The present work aims to provide Meyers estimates throughout a finer inner regularity theory in perforated domains. We also provide a hypercontractivity property on correctors whenever the perforations are controlled with a uniformly bounded random variable and the underlying probability space admits a weaker form of ergodicity which we called coarsened logarithmic Sobolev inequality.

Verbal metonymy has received relatively scarce attention in the field of computational linguistics despite the fact that a model to accurately paraphrase metonymy has applications both in academia and the technology sector. The method described in this paper makes use of data from the British National Corpus in order to create word vectors, find instances of verbal metonymy and generate potential paraphrases. Two different ways of creating word vectors are evaluated in this study: Continuous bag of words and Skip-grams. Skip-grams are found to outperform the Continuous bag of words approach. Furthermore, the Skip-gram model is found to operate with better-than-chance accuracy and there is a strong positive relationship (phi coefficient = 0.61) between the model's classification and human judgement of the ranked paraphrases. This study lends credence to the viability of modelling verbal metonymy through computational methods based on distributional semantics.

New light bosons that couple weakly to the standard model (SM) particles are predicted in various extensions of the standard model (BSM). Examples include supersymmetric (SUSY) theories with extended Higgs sectors or with a hidden valleys (dark SUSY). In these models the light bosons can be produced directly in the decay of a Higgs boson, or as part of the decay chain of SUSY particles. Depending on the branching fraction, the exotic decays of the SM-Higgs can be undetected in standard analysis techniques or due to its modified production cross section of the Higgs bosons at the LHC. Therefore, direct searches for non-SM decays of the Higgs boson are the fastest way to understand the nature of the Higgs boson. Either it will confirm its SM character, or it will rule out a whole array of BSM scenarios. We present status of the search at CMS for non-SM Higgs boson decays in events with displaced muon-jets.

In this report, we aim at establishing proper ways for model checking the global security of distributed systems, which are designed consisting of set of localised security policies that enforce specific issues about the security expected.
The systems are formally specified following a syntax, defined in detail in this report, and their behaviour is clearly established by the Semantics, also defined in detail in this report. The systems include the formal attachment of security policies into their locations, whose intended interactions are trapped by the policies, aiming at taking access control decisions of the system, and the Semantics also takes care of this.
Using the Semantics, a Labelled Transition System (LTS) can be induced for every particular system, and over this LTS some model checking tasks could be done. We identify how this LTS is indeed obtained, and propose an alternative way of model checking the not-yet-induced LTS, by using the system design directly. This may lead to over-approximation thereby producing imprecise, though safe, results. We restrict ourselves to finite systems, in the sake of being certain about the decidability of the proposed method.
To illustrate the usefulness and validity of our proposal, we present 2 small case-study-like examples, where we show how the system can be specified, which policies could be added to it, and how to decide if the desired global security property is met.
Finally, an Appendix is given for digging deeply into how a tool for automatically performing this task is being built, including some implementation issues. The tool takes advantage of the proposed method, and given some system and some desired global security property, it safely (i.e. without false positives) ensures satisfaction of it.

Given a unicuspidal rational plane curve C with singular point P, we study the unique pencil Lambda_C on the projective plane satisfying C is in Lambda_C and P is its unique base point. We show that the general member of Lambda_C is a rational curve if and only if the curve C is non-negative. We also show that in such a case then Lambda_C has a dicritical of degree 1. Note that all currently known unicuspidal rational curves C in the projective plane are non-negative.

We consider the use of aspect-oriented techniques as a flexible way to deal with security policies in distributed systems. Recent work suggests to use aspects for analysing the future behaviour of programs and to make access control decisions based on this; this gives the flavour of dealing with information flow rather than mere access control. We show in this paper that it is beneficial to augment this approach with history-based components as is the traditional approach in reference monitor-based approaches to mandatory access control. Our developments are performed in an aspect-oriented coordination language aiming to describe the Bell-LaPadula policy as elegantly as possible. Furthermore, the resulting language has the capability of combining both history- and future-sensitive policies, providing even more flexibility and power.

The main objective of this paper is to prove the monodromy conjecture for the local Igusa zeta function of a quasi-ordinary polynomial of arbitrary dimension defined over a number field. In order to do it, we compute the local Denef-Loeser motivic zeta function $Z_{\text{DL}}(h,T)$ of a quasi-ordinary power series $h$ of arbitrary dimension over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero from its characteristic exponents without using embedded resolution of singularities. This allows us to effectively represent $Z_{\text{DL}}(h,T)=P(T)/Q(T)$ such that almost all the candidate poles given by $Q(T)$ are poles. Anyway, these candidate poles give eigenvalues of the monodromy action of the complex of nearby cycles on $h^{-1}(0).$ In particular we prove in this case the monodromy conjecture made by Denef-Loeser for the local motivic zeta function and the local topological zeta function. As a consequence, if $h$ is a quasi-ordinary polynomial defined over a number field we prove the Igusa monodromy conjecture for its local Igusa zeta function.
