Automated One-Loop Calculations with GoSam
Abstract: We present the program package GoSam which is designed for the automated calculation of one-loop amplitudes for multi-particle processes in renormalisable quantum field theories. The amplitudes, which are generated in terms of Feynman diagrams, can be reduced using either D-dimensional integrand-level decomposition or tensor reduction. GoSam can be used to calculate one-loop QCD and/or electroweak… ▽ More

Magneto-sensitive elastomers in a homogeneous magnetic field: a regular rectangular lattice model
Abstract: A theory of mechanical behaviour of the magneto-sensitive elastomers is developed in the framework of a linear elasticity approach. Using a regular rectangular lattice model, different spatial distributions of magnetic particles within a polymer matrix are considered: isotropic, chain-like and plane-like. It is shown that interaction between the magnetic particles results in the contraction of an… ▽ More

The effect of Landau-Zener dynamics on phonon lasing
Abstract: Optomechanical systems couple light to the motion of nanomechanical objects. Intriguing new effects are observed in recent experiments that involve the dynamics of more than one optical mode. There, mechanical motion can stimulate strongly driven multi-mode photon dynamics that acts back on the mechanics via radiation forces. We show that even for two optical modes Landau-Zener-Stueckelberg oscill… ▽ More

Loop induced interference effects in Higgs Boson plus two jet production at the LHC
Abstract: We calculate the order O(alpha^2 alpha_s^3) interference effect between the gluon fusion and weak boson fusion processes allowed at the one-loop level in Higgs boson plus 2 jet production at the LHC. The corresponding one-loop amplitudes, which have not been considered in the literature so far, are evaluated analytically using dimensional regularisation and the necessary master integrals with ma… ▽ More

First results on e^+e^- -> 3 jets at NNLO
Abstract: Precision studies of QCD at $e^+e^-$ colliders are based on measurements of event shapes and jet rates. To match the high experimental accuracy, theoretical predictions to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in QCD are needed for a reliable interpretation of the data. We report the first calculation of NNLO corrections (${\cal O}(α_s^3)$) to three-jet production and related event shapes, and di… ▽ More

Second-order QCD corrections to the thrust distribution
Abstract: We compute the next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD corrections to the thrust distribution in electron-positron annihilation. The corrections turn out to be sizable, enhancing the previously known next-to-leading order prediction by about 15%. Inclusion of the NNLO corrections significantly reduces the theoretical renormalisation scale uncertainty on the prediction of the thrust distribution… ▽ More

Six-Photon Amplitudes
Abstract: We present analytical results for all six-photon helicity amplitudes. For the computation of this loop induced process two recently developed methods, based on form factor decomposition and on multiple cuts, have been used. We obtain compact results, demonstrating the applicability of both methods to one-loop amplitudes relevant to precision collider phenomenology.

Algebraic evaluation of rational polynomials in one-loop amplitudes
Abstract: One-loop amplitudes are to a large extent determined by their unitarity cuts in four dimensions. We show that the remaining rational terms can be obtained from the ultraviolet behaviour of the amplitude, and determine universal form factors for these rational parts by applying reduction techniques to the Feynman diagrammatic representation of the amplitude. The method is valid for massless and m… ▽ More

Master Integrals for Massless Three-Loop Form Factors: One-Loop and Two-Loop Insertions
Abstract: The three-loop form factors in massless QCD can be expressed as a linear combination of master integrals. Besides a number of master integrals which factorise into products of one-loop and two-loop integrals, one finds 16 genuine three-loop integrals. Of these, six have the form of a bubble insertion inside a one-loop or two-loop vertex integral. We compute all master integrals with these insert… ▽ More

Infrared structure of $e^+e^- \to 3$ jets at NNLO: QED-type contributions
Abstract: The NNLO QCD corrections to the $e^+e^- \to 3$ jets can be decomposed according to their colour factors. Out of the seven colour factors, three are of QED-type: $1/N^2$, $N_F/N$ and $N_F^2$. We use the antenna subtraction method to compute these contributions, providing complete expressions for the subtraction terms in $N_F/N$ and $N_F^2$.

Les Houches Physics at TeV Colliders 2005, Standard Model and Higgs working group: Summary report
Abstract: This Report summarises the activities of the "SM and Higgs" working group for the Workshop "Physics at TeV Colliders", Les Houches, France, 2-20 May, 2005. On the one hand, we performed a variety of experimental and theoretical studies on standard candles (such as W, Z, and ttbar production), treating them either as proper signals of known physics, or as backgrounds to unknown physics; we also a… ▽ More

Towards LHC phenomenology at the loop level: A new method for one-loop amplitudes
Abstract: A precise understanding of LHC phenomenology requires the inclusion of one-loop corrections for multi-particle final states. In this talk we describe a semi-numerical method to compute one-loop amplitudes with many external particles and present first applications.

Towards e+e- --> 3 jets at NNLO by sector decomposition
Abstract: A method based on sector decomposition has been developed to calculate the double real radiation part of the process e+e- to 3 jets at next-to-next-to-leading order. It is shown in an example that the numerical cancellation of soft and collinear poles works well. The method is flexible to include an arbitrary measurement function in the final Monte Carlo program, such that it allows to obtain di… ▽ More
