Renormalization group flows of the $SU(N_f)\times SU(N_f)$ symmetric Ginzburg-Landau potential are calculated for a general number of flavors, $N_f$. Our approach does not rely on the $ε$ expansion, but uses the functional renormalization group, formulated directly in $d=3$ spatial dimensions, with the inclusion of all possible (perturbatively) relevant and marginal operators, whose number is considerably larger than those in $d=4$. We find new, potentially infrared stable fixed points spanned throughout the entire $N_f$ range. By conjecturing that the thermal chiral transition is governed by these ``flavor continuous" fixed points, stability analyses show that for $N_f\geq 5$ the chiral transition is of second-order, while for $N_f=2,3,4$, it is of first-order. We argue that the $U_{\rm A}(1)$ anomaly controls the strength of the first-order chiral transition for $N_f=2,3,4$, and makes it almost indistinguishable from a second-order one, if it is sufficiently weak at the critical point. This could open up a new strategy to investigate the strength of the $U_{\rm A}(1)$ symmetry breaking around the critical temperature.

We study the doubly charmed tetraquark state $T_{cc}^+$ by the HAL QCD method applied to the $D^*D$ system in $(2+1)$ flavor lattice QCD at nearly physical pion mass, $m_π= 146$ MeV. We obtain the attractive potential at all distances in the $S$-wave of the isoscalar $D^* D$ system, whose long distance behavior is well described by the two-pion exchange (TPE), and it generates a virtual pole near $D^* D$ threshold with a pole position $E_{\rm pole} = -59 (^{+53}_{-99}) (^{+2}_{-67})$ keV and an inverse scattering length $1/a_0=0.05(5)(^{+2}_{-2})$ fm$^{-1}$. The virtual pole turns into a loosely bound state pole if the pion mass in the TPE potential is extrapolated to the physical value, $m_π=135$ MeV. The potential at the physical pion mass is shown to give a semi-quantitative description of the $D^0 D^0π^+$ mass spectrum at the LHCb.

The emergence of cryptoassets has sparked a paradigm shift in the world of finance and investment, ushering in a new era of digital assets with profound implications for the future of currency and asset management. A recent study showed that during the bubble period around the year, 2018, the price of cryptoasset, XRP has a strong anti correlation with the largest singular values of the correlation tensors obtained from the weekly XRP transaction networks. In this study, we provide a detailed analysis of the method of correlation tensor spectra for XRP transaction networks. We calculate and compare the distribution of the largest singular values of the correlation tensor using the random matrix theory with the largest singular values of the empirical correlation tensor. We investigate the correlation between the XRP price and the largest singular values for a period spanning two years. We also uncover the distinct dependence between XRP price and the singular values for bubble and non-bubble periods. The significance of time evolution of singular values is shown by comparison with the evolution of singular values of the reshuffled correlation tensor. Furthermore, we identify a set of driver nodes in the transaction networks that drives the market during the bubble period using the singular vectors.

In this article, we focus on analyzing transaction data for the 2017-2018 period that consist one of the significant XRP market price bursts. We construct weekly weighted directed networks of XRP transactions. These weekly networks are embedded on continuous vector space using a network embedding technique that encodes structural regularities present in the network structure in terms of node vectors. Using a suitable time window we calculate a correlation tensor. A double singular value decomposition of the correlation tensor provides key insights about the system. The significance of the correlation tensor is captured using a randomized correlation tensor. We present a detailed dependence of correlation tensor on model parameters.

We theoretically examine a continuity between atomic and molecular Fermi superfluids in a Bose-Fermi mixture near the Feshbach resonance. Considering a two-channel model describing the Feshbach resonance between Fermi and Bose atoms, we have constructed the mean-field framework based on the perturbative expansion of the Feshbach atom-dimer coupling. The resulting effective Hamiltonian exhibits not only the continuity between atom-atom to molecule-molecule Cooper pairings but also becomes equivalent to the two-band-superconductor model with Suhl-Matthias-Walker type pair-exchange coupling. We demonstrate how these atomic and molecular Fermi superfluids coexist within the two-band-like superfluid theory. The pair-exchange coupling and resulting superfluid gaps are found to be strongly enhanced near the Feshbach resonance due to the interplay between the infrared singularity of Bogoliubov phonons and their Landau dam** arising from the coupling with fermions. The pair-exchange coupling can be probed via the observation of the intrinsic Josephson effect between atomic and molecular superfluids.

The interaction of $D^*D$ in the isoscalar and $S$-wave channel, derived from the hadronic spacetime correlation by the HAL QCD method, is attractive for all distances and leads to a near-threshold virtual state with a pole position $E_\text{pole}=-59\left(^{+53}_{-99}\right)\left(^{+2}_{-67}\right)$ keV and a large scattering length $1/a_0=0.05(5)\left(^{+2}_{-2}\right)~\text{fm}^{-1}$. Such a potential is found to give a semiquantitative description of the LHCb data on the $D^0D^0π^+$ mass spectrum. Future study is necessary to perform physical-point simulations with the isospin-breaking and open three-body-channel effects taken into account.

In this letter, indication of a \pphi bound state is found, using for the first time two-particle correlation functions as alternative to invariant mass spectra. Newly available lattice calculations for the spin 3/2 \Nphi interaction by the HAL QCD collaboration are used to constrain the spin 1/2 counterpart from the fit of the experimental \pphi correlation function measured by ALICE. The corresponding scattering length and effective range are $f_0^{(1/2)}=\left(-1.54^{+0.53}_{-0.53}(\mathrm{stat.})^{+0.16}_{-0.09}(\mathrm{syst.})+i\cdot0.00^{+0.35}_{-0.00}(\mathrm{stat.})^{+0.16}_{-0.00}(\mathrm{syst.})\right)$~fm and $d_0^{(1/2)}=\left(0.39^{+0.09}_{-0.09}(\mathrm{stat.})^{+0.02}_{-0.03}(\mathrm{syst.})+i\cdot0.00^{+0.00}_{-0.04}(\mathrm{stat.})^{+0.00}_{-0.02}(\mathrm{syst.})\right)$~fm, respectively. Cryptoassets are becoming essential in the digital economy era. XRP is one of the large market cap cryptoassets. Here, we develop a novel method of correlation tensor spectra for the dynamical XRP networks, which can provide an early indication for XRP price. A weighed directed weekly transaction network among XRP wallets is constructed by aggregating all transactions for a week. A vector for each node is then obtained by embedding the weekly network in continuous vector space. From a set of weekly snapshots of node vectors, we construct a correlation tensor. A double singular value decomposition of the correlation tensors gives its singular values. The significance of the singular values is shown by comparing with its randomize counterpart. The evolution of singular values shows a distinctive behavior. The largest singular value shows a significant negative correlation with XRP/USD price. We observe the minimum of the largest singular values at the XRP/USD price peak during the first week of January 2018. The minimum of the largest singular value during January 2018 is explained by decomposing the correlation tensor in the signal and noise components and also by evolution of community structure.

The inversion of the $1^-$-$2^-$ spin-doublet between the iso-triplet and the iso-singlet is found to be strongly correlated with the relative strengths of the $ΞN$ interaction in the $^{11}{\rm S}_0, ^{13}{\rm S}_1,^{31}{\rm S}_0$ and $^{33}{\rm S}_1$ channels. First results on the interaction between the $φ$-meson and the nucleon ($N$) are presented based on the ($2+1$)-flavor lattice QCD simulations with nearly physical quark masses. Using the HAL QCD method, the spacetime correlation of the $N$-$φ$ system in the spin 3/2 channel is converted into the $N$-$φ$ scattering phase shift through the interaction potential. The $N$-$φ$ potential appears to be a combination of a short-range attractive core and a long-range attractive tail. The latter is found to be consistent with the two-pion exchange (TPE) obtained from the interaction between a color-dipole and the nucleon. The resultant scattering length and effective range for $m_π=$ 146.4 MeV are $ a^{(3/2)}_0=-1.43(23)_{\rm stat.}\left(^{+36}_{-06}\right)_{\rm syst.} {\rm fm}$ and $ r^{(3/2)}_{\rm eff}=2.36(10)_{\rm stat.}\left(^{+02}_{-48}\right)_{\rm syst.} {\rm fm}$, respectively. The magnitude of the scattering length is shown to have nontrivial dependence of $m_π$ and is sensitive to the existence of the long-range tail from TPE.

Fully general-relativistic binary-neutron-star (BNS) merger simulations with quark-hadron crossover (QHC) equations of state (EOSs) are studied for the first time. In contrast to EOSs with purely hadronic matter or with a first-order quark-hadron phase transition (1PT), in the transition region QHC EOSs show a peak in sound speed, and thus a stiffening. We study the effects of such stiffening in the merger and post-merger gravitational (GW) signals. Through simulations in the binary-mass range $2.5 < M/M_{\odot} < 2.75$, characteristic differences due to different EOSs appear in the frequency of the main peak of the post-merger GW spectrum ($f_2$), extracted through Bayesian inference. In particular, we found that (i) for lower-mass binaries, since the maximum baryon number density ($n_{\rm max}$) after the merger stays below $3\text{--}4$ times the nuclear-matter density ($n_0$), the characteristic stiffening of the QHC models in that density range results in a lower $f_2$ than that computed for the underlying hadronic EOS and thus also than that for EOSs with a 1PT, (ii) for higher-mass binaries, where $n_{\rm max}$ may exceed $4\text{--}5 n_0$ depending on the EOS model, whether $f_2$ in QHC models is higher or lower than that in the underlying hadronic model depends on the height of the sound-speed peak. Comparing the values of $f_2$ for different EOSs and BNS masses gives important clues on how to discriminate different types of quark dynamics in the high-density end of EOSs and is relevant to future kilohertz GW observations with third-generation GW detectors.

A set of optimized interpolating operators which are dominantly coupled to each eigenstate of two baryons on the lattice is constructed by the HAL QCD method. To test its validity, we consider heavy dibaryons $Ω_{3Q}Ω_{3Q}$ ($Q=s,c$) calculated by (2+1)-flavor lattice QCD simulations with nearly physical pion mass. The optimized two-baryon operators are shown to provide effective energies of the ground and excited states separately stable as a function of the Euclidean time. Also they agree to the eigenenergies in a finite lattice box obtained from the leading-order HAL QCD potential $V({\boldsymbol{r}})$ within statistical errors. The overlap** factors between the optimized sink operators and the state created by the wall-type source operator indicate that $V( \boldsymbol{r})$ can be reliably extracted, no matter whether the spacetime correlation of two baryons is dominated by the ground state or the excited state. It is suggested that the optimized set of operators is useful for variational studies of hadron-hadron interactions.

Employing the (2+1)-flavor lattice QCD data obtained at nearly physical light quark masses $(m_π, m_K) \simeq (146, 525)$ MeV and the physical charm quark mass, we study two representative systems, $ΩΩ$ and $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{ccc}$ in the $^1S_0$ channel, where both systems were found to have a shallow bound state in our previous studies. The HAL QCD potentials are determined at the leading-order in the derivative expansion, from which finite-volume eigenmodes are obtained. Utilizing the eigenmode projection, we find that the correlation functions are dominated by the ground state (first excited state) in the case of $ΩΩ$ ($Ω_{ccc}Ω_{ccc}$). In both $ΩΩ$ and $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{ccc}$, the spectra obtained from eigenmode-projected temporal correlators are found to be consistent with those from the HAL QCD potential for both the ground and first excited state. These results show that the derivative expansion is well converged in these systems, and also provide a first explicit evidence that the HAL QCD method enables us to reliably extract the binding energy of the ground state even from the correlator dominated by excited scattering states.

Using EMT, one can study the mechanical distortion of the color gauge field induced by the static charge. We find substantial separation in the absolute values of the EMT eigenvalues which is not observed in Maxwell theory. The separation grows as temperature is lowered toward the critical temperature. The lattice data also indicate the thermal screening at long distance and the perturbative behavior at short distance.

The recent NICER measurement of the radius of the neutron star PSR J0740+6620, and the inferred small variation of radii from 1.4$M_\odot$ to 2.1$M_\odot$, reveal key features of the equation of state of neutron star matter. The pressure rises rapidly in the regime of baryon density $n \sim$ 2-4 times nuclear saturation density, $n_0$ -- the region where we expect hadronic matter to be undergoing transformation into quark matter -- and the pressure in the nuclear regime is greater than predicted by microscopic many-body variational calculations of nuclear matter. To incorporate these insights into the microscopic physics from the nuclear to the quark matter regimes, we construct an equation of state, QHC21, within the framework of quark-hadron crossover (QHC). We include nuclear matter results primarily based on the state-of-the-art chiral effective field theory, but also note results of using nuclear matter variational calculations based on empirical nuclear forces. We employ explicit nuclear degrees of freedom only up to $n \sim 1.5n_0$, in order to explore the possibility of further physical degrees of freedom than nucleonic here. The resulting QHC21, which has a peak in sound velocity in $\sim 2$-$4 n_0$, is stiffer than the earlier QHC19 below 2$n_0$, predicting larger radii in substantial agreement with the NICER data.

The momentum correlation functions of S = -2 baryon pairs (p Xi^- and Lambda Lambda) produced in high-energy pp and pA collisions are investigated on the basis of the coupled-channel formalism. The strong interaction is described by the coupled-channel HAL QCD potential obtained by the lattice QCD simulations near physical quark masses, while the hadronic source function is taken to be a static Gaussian form. The coupled-channel effect, the threshold difference, the realistic strong interaction, and the Coulomb interaction are fully taken into account for the first time in the femtoscopic analysis of baryon-baryon correlations. The characteristic features of the experimental data for the p Xi^- and Lambda Lambda pairs at LHC are reproduced quantitatively with a suitable choice of non-femtoscopic parameters and the source size. The agreement between theory and experiment indicates that the N Xi (Lambda Lambda) interaction is moderately (weakly) attractive without having a quasi-bound (bound) state.

The spatial baryon-baryon correlation is related to their scattering parameters on the basis of the HAL QCD method. The $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{ccc}$ in the ${^1S_0}$ channel taking into account the Coulomb repulsion with the charge form factor of $Ω_{ccc}$ leads to the scattering length $a^{\rm C}_0\simeq -19~\text{fm}$ and the effective range $r^{\rm C}_{\mathrm{eff}}\simeq 0.45~\text{fm}$. The ratio $r^{\rm C}_{\mathrm{eff}}/a^{\rm C}_0 \simeq -0.024$, whose magnitude is considerably smaller than that of the dineutron ($-0.149$), indicates that $Ω_{ccc}Ω_{ccc}$ is located in the unitary regime.

We define the EMT by means of the gradient flow formalism and study its spatial distribution around a static quark in the deconfined phase of SU(3) Yang-Mills theory on the lattice. Although no significant difference can be seen between the EMT distributions in the radial and transverse directions except for the sign, the temporal component is substantially different from the spatial ones near the critical temperature $T_c$. This is in contrast to the prediction of the leading-order thermal perturbation theory. The lattice data of the EMT distribution also indicate the thermal screening at long distance and the perturbative behavior at short distance.

By using the HAL QCD method, the central $Δ$-$Δ$ potential in the ${}^7S_3$ channel is obtained from the lattice data with the lattice spacing $a\simeq 0.121$ fm and the lattice size $L\simeq 3.87$ fm. The resultant potential shows a strong short-range attraction, so that a quasi-bound state corresponding to $d^\ast (2380)$ is formed with the binding energy $25$-$40$ MeV below the $ΔΔ$ threshold for the heavy pion masses. The tensor part of the transition potential from $ΔΔ$ to $NN$ is also extracted to investigate the coupling strength between the $S$-wave $ΔΔ$ system with $J^P=3^+$ and the $D$-wave $NN$ system. Although the transition potential is strong at short distances, the decay width of $d^\ast (2380)$ to $NN$ in the $D$-wave is kinematically suppressed, which justifies our single-channel analysis at the range of the pion mass explored in this study.

The $ΛΛ$ interaction at low energies shows only a weak attraction, which does not provide a bound or resonant dihyperon. The $NΞ$ interaction in the spin-singlet and isospin-singlet channel is most attractive and lead the $NΞ$ system near unitarity. Relevance to the strangeness=$-2$ hypernuclei as well as to two-baryon correlations in proton-proton, proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions is also discussed.

The binding energies of the three-body and four-body systems (below the $d+Ξ$ and $^3{\rm H}$/$^3{\rm He}+Ξ$ thresholds, respectively) are calculated by a high precision variational approach, the Gaussian Expansion Method. Although the two $ΞN$ potentials have significantly different isospin ($T$) and spin ($S$) dependence, the $NNNΞ$ system with quantum numbers $(T=0, J^π=1^+$) appears to be bound (one deep for Nijmegen and one shallow for HAL QCD) below the $^3{\rm H}$/$^3{\rm He}+Ξ$ threshold. The interaction energies between two baryons at short distance in different flavor channels are calculated from the constituent quark model (CQM) and are compared with the recent lattice QCD (LQCD) results for baryon-baryon potentials at short distance. We consider the six-quark system with two strange quarks and focus on the quantum numbers, (Flavor,Spin)=(1,0),(8,1),(10,1),($\overline{10}$,1) and (27,0). The interaction energy is defined by subtracting out isolated baryon masses and relative kinetic energy of two baryons from the total energy of a compact six-quark state. We introduce interaction energy ratio between different flavors as a useful measure to test the prediction of CQM. We find that the ratios in CQM show good agreement with those in LQCD, which indicates that the short range part of the baryon-baryon interaction can be understood qualitatively in terms of the Pauli principle and spin-dependent color interaction among constituent quarks.

We investigate superfluid phase transitions of asymmetric nuclear matter at finite temperature ($T$) and density ($ρ$) with a low proton fraction ($Y_{\rm p} \le 0.2$) which is relevant to the inner crust and outer core of neutron stars. A strong-coupling theory developed for two-component atomic Fermi gases is generalized to the four-component case and is applied to the system of spin-$1/2$ neutrons and protons. The empirical phase shifts of neutron-neutron (nn), proton-proton (pp) and neutron-proton (np) interactions up to $k = 2$ ${\rm fm}^{-1}$ are described by multi-rank separable potentials. We show that (i) the critical temperature of the neutron superfluidity $T_{\rm c}^{\rm nn}$ at $Y_{\rm p}=0$ agrees well with Monte Carlo data at low densities and takes a maximum value $T_{\rm c}^{\rm nn}=1.68$ MeV at $ρ/ρ_0 = 0.14$ with $ρ_0=0.17$ fm$^{-3}$, (ii) the critical temperature of the proton superconductivity $T_{\rm c}^{\rm pp}$ for $Y_{\rm p} \le 0.2$ is substantially suppressed at low densities due to np-pairing fluctuations and starts to dominate over $T_{\rm c}^{\rm nn}$ only above $ρ/ρ_0 = 0.70$ $(0.77)$ for $Y_p =0.1$ $(0.2)$, and (iii) the deuteron condensation temperature $T_{\rm c}^{\rm d}$ is suppressed at $Y_{\rm p}\le 0.2$ due to the large mismatch of the two Fermi surfaces.

We investigate the renormalization group flows of multicomponent scalar theories with $U(1)$ gauge symmetry using the functional renormalization group method. The scalar sector is built up from traces of matrix fields that belong to simple, compact Lie algebras. We find that in general these theories are non-renormalizable even at zero gauge coupling, but if we add a $U(1)$ factor to the Lie algebra structure, then they are consistent. In accordance with our earlier findings, fluctuations introduce anomalous, regulator dependent gauge contributions, which are only consistent with the flow equation for a given set of gauge fixing parameters. We establish connections between regularization procedures in the standard covariant and the $R_ξ$ gauges arguing that one is not tied by introducing regulators at the level of the functional integral, and it is allowed to switch between schemes at different levels of the calculations. We calculate $β$ functions, classify fixed points, and clarify compatibility of the flow equation and the Ward-Takahashi identity between the scalar wavefunction renormalization and the charge rescaling factor.

A moderately strong vector repulsion between quarks in dense quark matter is needed to explain how a quark core can support neutron stars heavier than two solar masses. We study this repulsion, parametrized by a four-fermion interaction with coupling g_V, in terms of non-perturbative gluon exchange in QCD in the Landau gauge. Matching the energy of quark matter, g_V n_q^2 (where n_q is the number density of quarks) with the quark exchange energy calculated in QCD with a gluon propagator parametrized by a finite gluon mass m_g and a frozen coupling alpha_s, at moderate quark densities, we find that gluon masses m_g in the range 200 - 600 MeV and alpha_s = 2 - 4 lead to a g_V consistent with neutron star phenomenology. Estimating the effects of quark masses and a color-flavor-locked (CFL) pairing gap, we find that g_V can be well approximated by a flavor-symmetric, decreasing function of density. We briefly discuss similar matchings for the isovector repulsion and for the pairing attraction.

We present a much improved equation of state for neutron star matter, QHC19, with a smooth crossover from the hadronic regime at lower densities to the quark regime at higher densities. We now use the Togashi et al.~equation of state (Togashi:2017), a generalization of the Akmal-Pandharipande-Ravenhall equation of state of uniform nuclear matter, in the entire hadronic regime; the Togashi equation of state consistently describes non-uniform as well as uniform matter, and matter at beta equilibrium without the need for an interpolation between pure neutron and symmetric nuclear matter. We describe the quark matter regime at higher densities with the Nambu--Jona--Lasinio model, now identifying tight constraints on the phenomenological universal vector repulsion between quarks and the pairing interaction between quarks arising from the requirements of thermodynamic stability and causal propagation of sound. The resultant neutron star properties agree very well with the inferences of the LIGO/Virgo collaboration, from GW170817, of the pressure vs. baryon density, neutron star radii, and tidal deformabilities. The maximum neutron star mass allowed by QHC19 is 2.35 $M_\odot$, consistent with all neutron star mass determinations.

There exist two methods to study two-baryon systems in lattice QCD: the direct method which extracts eigenenergies from the plateaux of the temporal correlator and the HAL QCD method which extracts observables from the non-local potential associated with the tempo-spatial correlator. Although the two methods should give the same results theoretically, qualitatively different results have been reported. Recently, we pointed out that the separation of the ground state from the excited states is crucial to obtain sensible results in the former, while both states provide useful signals in the latter. In this paper, we identify the contribution of each state in the direct method by decomposing the two-baryon correlators into the finite-volume eigenmodes obtained from the HAL QCD method. We consider the $ΞΞ$ system in the $^1$S$_0$ channel at $m_π= 0.51$ GeV in 2+1 flavor lattice QCD using the wall and smeared quark sources. We demonstrate that the "pseudo-plateau" at early time slices (t = 1~2 fm) from the smeared source in the direct method indeed originates from the contamination of the excited states, and the true plateau with the ground state saturation is realized only at t > 5~15 fm corresponding to the inverse of the lowest excitation energy. We also demonstrate that the two-baryon operator can be optimized by utilizing the finite-volume eigenmodes, so that (i) the finite-volume energy spectra from the HAL QCD method agree with those from the optimized temporal correlator and (ii) the correct spectra would be accessed in the direct method only if highly optimized operators are employed. Thus we conclude that the long-standing issue on the consistency between the Lüscher's finite volume method and the HAL QCD method for two baryons is now resolved: They are consistent with each other quantitatively only if the excited contamination is properly removed in the former.

The time-dependent HAL QCD method is employed to convert the lattice QCD data of the two-baryon correlation function to the baryon-baryon potential and eventually to the scattering observables. The $NΩ$($^5$S$_2$) potential, obtained under the assumption that its couplings to the D-wave octet-baryon pairs are small, is found to be attractive in all distances and to produce a quasi-bound state near unitarity: In this channel, the scattering length, the effective range and the binding energy from QCD alone read $a_0= 5.30(0.44)(^{+0.16}_{-0.01})$~fm, $r_{\rm eff} = 1.26(0.01)(^{+0.02}_{-0.01})$~fm, $B = 1.54(0.30)(^{+0.04}_{-0.10})$~MeV, respectively. Including the extra Coulomb attraction, the binding energy of $pΩ^-$($^5$S$_2$) becomes $B_{pΩ^-} = 2.46(0.34)(^{+0.04}_{-0.11})$~MeV. The $ΞΞ$ interaction in the $^1$S$_0$ channel is studied to examine the convergence of the derivative expansion of the non-local HAL QCD potential at the next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^2$LO). We find that (i) the leading order potential from the N$^2$LO analysis gives the scattering phase shifts accurately at low energies, (ii) the full N$^2$LO potential gives only small correction to the phase shifts even at higher energies below the inelastic threshold, and (iii) the potential determined from the wall quark source at the leading order analysis agrees with the one at the N$^2$LO analysis except at short distances, and thus, it gives correct phase shifts at low energies. We also study the possible systematic uncertainties in the HAL QCD potential such as the inelastic state contaminations and the finite volume artifact for the potential and find that they are well under control for this particular system.

The Yang-Mills gradient flow plays a crucial role to make the stress tensor well-defined and derivable from the numerical simulations on the lattice. The resultant stress tensor with a decomposition into local principal axes shows, for the first time, the detailed structure of the flux tube along the longitudinal and transverse directions in a gauge invariant manner. The linear confining behavior of the $Q\bar{Q}$ potential at long distances is derived directly from the integral of the local stress tensor.

In order to perform a comprehensive study of baryon interactions, a large number of NBS correlation functions from NN to $ΞΞ$ are calculated simultaneously by using large scale computer resources. In this contribution, we focus on the strangeness $S=-1$ channels of the hyperon interactions by means of HAL QCD method. Four sets of three potentials (the $^3S_1-^3D_1$ central, $^3S_1-^3D_1$ tensor, and the $^1S_0$ central potentials) are presented for the $ΣN - ΣN$ (the isospin $I=3/2$) diagonal, the $ΛN - ΛN$ diagonal, the $ΛN \rightarrow ΣN$ transition, and the $ΣN - ΣN$ ($I=1/2$) diagonal interactions. Scattering phase shifts for $ΣN$ $(I=3/2)$ system are presented.

We study the central potential in $^1S_0$ channel as well as central and tensor potentials in $^3S_1 - $$^3D_1$ channel, and find that the tensor potential for $Λ_c N$ is negligibly weak and central potentials in both $^1S_0$ and $^3S_1 - $$^3D_1$ channels are almost identical with each other except at short distances. Phase shifts and scattering lengths calculated with these potentials show that the interaction of $Λ_c N$ system is attractive and has a similar strength in $^1S_0$ and $^3S_1$ channels at low energies (i.e. the kinetic energy less than about $40$ MeV). While the attractions are not strong enough to form two-body bound states, our results lead to a possibility to form $Λ_c$ hypernuclei for sufficiently large atomic numbers ($A$). To demonstrate this, we derive a single-folding potential for $Λ_c$ hypernuclei from the $Λ_c$-nucleon potential obtained in lattice QCD, and find that $Λ_c$ hypernuclei can exist for $A \ge 12$ with the binding energies of a few MeV. We also estimate the Coulomb effect for the $Λ_c$ hypernuclei.

Deriving accurate energy density functional is one of the central problems in condensed matter physics, nuclear physics, and quantum chemistry. We propose a novel method to deduce the energy density functional by combining the idea of the functional renormalization group and the Kohn-Sham scheme in density functional theory. The key idea is to solve the renormalization group flow for the effective action decomposed into the mean-field part and the correlation part. Also, we propose a simple practical method to quantify the uncertainty associated with the truncation of the correlation part. By taking the $\varphi^4$ theory in zero dimension as a benchmark, we demonstrate that our method shows extremely fast convergence to the exact result even for the highly strong coupling regime.

We review the equation of state of matter in neutron stars from the solid crust through the liquid nuclear matter interior to the quark regime at higher densities. We focus in detail on the question of how quark matter appears in neutron stars, and how it affects the equation of state. After discussing the crust and liquid nuclear matter in the core we briefly review aspects of microscopic quark physics relevant to neutron stars, and quark models of dense matter based on the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio framework, in which gluonic processes are replaced by effective quark interactions. We turn then to describing equations of state useful for interpretation of both electromagnetic and gravitational observations, reviewing the emerging picture of hadron-quark continuity in which hadronic matter turns relatively smoothly, with at most only a weak first order transition, into quark matter with increasing density. We review construction of unified equations of state that interpolate between the reasonably well understood nuclear matter regime at low densities and the quark matter regime at higher densities. The utility of such interpolations is driven by the present inability to calculate the dense matter equation of state in QCD from first principles. As we review, the parameters of effective quark models -- which have direct relevance to the more general structure of the QCD phase diagram of dense and hot matter -- are constrained by neutron star mass and radii measurements, in particular favoring large repulsive density-density and attractive diquark pairing interactions. We describe the structure of neutron stars constructed from the unified equations of states with crossover. Lastly we present the current equations of state -- called "QHC18" for quark-hadron crossover -- in a parametrized form practical for neutron star modeling.

Ward-Takahashi identites are analyzed in the presence of the regulator, and their compatibility with the flow equation is investigated in detail.

On the basis of the $pΞ^-$ interaction extracted from (2+1)-flavor lattice QCD simulations at the physical point, the momentum correlation of $p$ and $Ξ^-$ produced in relativistic heavy ion collisions is evaluated. $C_{\rm SL}(Q)$ defined by a ratio of the momentum correlations between the systems with different source sizes is shown to be largely enhanced at low momentum due to the strong attraction between $p$ and $Ξ^-$ in the $I=J=0$ channel. Thus, measuring this ratio at RHIC and LHC and its comparison to the theoretical analysis will give a useful constraint on the $pΞ^-$ interaction.
