Nanophotonic platforms in theory uniquely enable < femtomoles of chiral biological and pharmaceutical molecules to be detected, through the highly localised changes in the chiral asymmetries of the near-fields that they induce. However, current chiral nanophotonic based strategies are intrinsically limited because they rely on far-field optical measurements that are sensitive to a much larger near-field volume, than that influenced by the chiral molecules. Consequently, they depend on detecting small changes in far-field optical response restricting detection sensitivities. Here we exploit an intriguing phenomenon, plasmonic circularly polarised luminescence (PCPL), which is an incisive local probe of near-field chirality. This allows chiral detection of monolayer quantities of a de novo designed peptide, which is not achieved with a far-field response. Our work demonstrates that by leveraging the capabilities of nanophotonic platforms with the near-field sensitivity of PCPL, optimal biomolecular detection performance can be achieved, opening new avenues for nanometrology.

Abstract:
In this article, some logistic models in the settings of Caputo fractional operators with multi-parametered Mittag-Leffer kernels (ABC) are studied. This study mainly focuses on modified quadratic and cubic logistic models in the presence of a Caputo type fractional derivative. Existence and uniqueness theorems are proved and stability analysis is discussed by perturbing the equilibrium points. Nu…

Abstract:
The potential benefits of portfolio diversification have been known to investors for a long time. Markowitz (1952) suggested the seminal approach for optimizing the portfolio problem based on finding the weights as budget shares that minimize the variance of the underlying portfolio. Hatemi-J and El-Khatib (2015) suggested finding the weights that will result in maximizing the risk adjusted return…

The potential benefits of portfolio diversification have been known to investors for a long time. Markowitz (1952) suggested the seminal approach for optimizing the portfolio problem based on finding the weights as budget shares that minimize the variance of the underlying portfolio. Hatemi-J and El-Khatib (2015) suggested finding the weights that will result in maximizing the risk adjusted return of the portfolio. This approach seems to be preferred by the rational investors since it combines risk and return when the optimal budget shares are sought for. The current paper provides a general solution for this risk adjusted return problem that can be utilized for any potential number of assets that are included in the portfolio.

Abstract:
Hydrogen sensors have been prepared using nickel oxide (NiO) and lithium-doped nickel oxide (NiO:Li) thin films, deposited on glass substrates by the sol-gel spin coating technique. Hydrogen sensors have been prepared using nickel oxide (NiO) and lithium-doped nickel oxide (NiO:Li) thin films, deposited on glass substrates by the sol-gel spin coating technique. The surface morphology, structure, optical and electrical properties of the obtained films were studied. Hydrogen sensing results are presented for three operating temperatures (140, 160, and 180 °C) and for hydrogen concentrations ranging from 1000 to 15000 ppm in synthetic air. The NiO and NiO:Li (2% and 8% do** concentrations) sensors show maximum responses for the operating temperature of 180 °C. When tested at different hydrogen concentrations in air, the lithium-doped NiO sensors showed a higher response than the undoped NiO films.

In the cancerology domain, we were brought to make periodic mammography images to monitor tumor patients. Oracle Database Management system (DBMS) is a solution to manage these images with patient's data recorder. Knowing the large size of medical images of mammograms, the Oracle DBMS saves these images outside the Oracle database using external LOBs. The link between these images and Oracle is done through the BFILE. At this level, two problems are raised: the first problem is that access to these images can become impossible because the link is likely to be broken. The second problem is security, the fact that the images are saved outside the Oracle database, they do not benefit from its powerful security. The protection of the integrity and confidentiality of data and patient images are a necessity defended by laws and they must be preserved against any unauthorized access, alteration or destruction. In this paper, we propose the method of reversible watermarking technique based on the difference expansion to resolve these two problems and explore its use in search and retrieval strategy of images.

A mathematical model involving a syntrophic relationship between two populations of bacteria in a continuous culture is proposed. A detailed qualitative analysis is carried out. The local and global stability analysis of the equilibria are performed. We demonstrate, under general assumptions of monotonicity, relevant from an applied point of view, the asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium point which corresponds to the coexistence of the two bacteria. A syntrophic relationship in the anaerobic digestion process is proposed as a real candidate for this model.
