We study the properties of massive fields extrapolated to the blowup of spatial infinity ($\hat{i}^0$), extending the program initiated in arXiv:2207.06406. In the free theory, we find an explicit representation of boundary two-point functions and boundary to bulk two-point functions, and also present an HKLL-type reconstruction formula for local bulk operators in terms of smeared boundary operators. We study interacting Wightman correlators and find that, generically, interacting massive fields decay slower than free fields as one approaches $\hat{i}^0$. We propose that meaningful correlators at $\hat{i}^0$ can be obtained through an LSZ-like prescription that isolates the on-shell part of bulk Wightman correlators before extrapolating them to $\hat{i}^0$. We show that a natural basis for operators at $\hat{i}^0$, defined via this prescription, is given by the average of "in" and "out" operators defined at $i^-$ and $i^+$ respectively. Therefore, correlators at $\hat{i}^0$ and cross correlators between $\hat{i}^0$, $i^-$ and $i^+$ can be represented within the class of asymptotic observables studied by Caron-Huot et al. in arXiv:2308.02125. We present several sample calculations.

We extend the local infrared-divergence subtraction formalism, originally proposed by Frixione, Kunszt and Signer (FKS), to calculate short-distance (differential) cross section for any inclusive process involving a quarkonium particle in non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorisation at next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy in the strong coupling constant $α_s$. The new formulas are generally applicable to the production of an S- or P-wave quarkonium state in association with any number of elementary particles. The main new ingredients derived in this paper are the local and integrated soft counterterms for the colour-singlet and colour-octet P-wave bound states. It, therefore, paves the way to the automation of the NLO calculations for heavy quarkonium inclusive and associated production processes.

The recent experimental observation of Light-by-Light (LbL) scattering at the Large Hadron Collider has revived interest in this fundamental process, and especially of the accurate prediction of its cross-section, which we present here for the first time at Next-to-Leading Order (NLO) in both QCD and QED. We compare two radically different computational approaches, both exact in the fermion mass dependence, thus offering a strong cross-check of our results. The first approach is a fully analytic method to calculate compact and well-organized two-loop helicity amplitudes. The second one is entirely numerical and leverages the Local Unitarity construction. Our two calculations agree with each other and conclude that including the exact fermion mass contribution typically increases the size of the NLO corrections. Moreover, we find that the exact result converges slowly to the massless limit of the high-energy regime, thus emphasizing the importance of including the full mass dependence at NLO. We also compare our results with the ATLAS measurement of LbL in ultra-peripheral lead-lead collisions, and find that the inclusion of exact NLO corrections reduces, but does not eliminate, the existing tension with theoretical predictions.

It has been argued by Iliesiu, Kologlu and Turiaci in arXiv:2107.09062 that one can compute the supersymmetric index of black holes using black hole geometry carrying finite temperature but a specific complex angular velocity. We follow their prescription to compute the logarithmic correction to the entropy of BPS states in four dimensions, defined as the log of the index of supersymmetric black holes, and find perfect agreement with the previous results for the same quantity computed using the near horizon $AdS_2 \times S^2$ geometry of zero temperature black holes. Besides giving an independent computation of supersymmetric black hole entropy, this analysis also provides a test of the procedure used previously for computing logarithmic corrections to Schwarzschild and other non-extremal black hole entropy.

We prove that there is a well-defined spacetime action of the superrotation charge on the space of asymptotically flat geometries. We present a systematic framework to study the threshold contributions of the differential rapidity distribution for the production of any number of colorless particles in the hadronic colliders. This has been achieved based on the universality structure of the soft enhancements associated with the real emissions, along with the factorization property of the differential cross section and the renormalization group invariance. In this formalism, we present a universal soft-collinear operator to compute the soft virtual differential cross section for a generic $2\rightarrow n$ scattering process up to next-to-next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^4$LO) in perturbative QCD. We also provide a universal operator to perform the threshold resummation to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (N$^3$LL) accuracy. We explicitly present the approximate analytical results of the rapidity distributions at N$^4$LO and N$^3$LL for the Higgs boson production through gluon fusion and bottom quark annihilation, and also for the Drell-Yan production at the hadronic collider. \textcolor{black}{We extend our framework to include the next to threshold contributions for the diagonal partonic channels.

By acting this universal operator on the pure virtual corrections, which need to be computed explicitly for a process, the soft-virtual cross-section can be obtained. The operator is constructed by exploiting the factorization and renormalization group evolution of amplitudes in QCD, and the universality of soft gluon contributions. We also provide the hard coefficient to perform the threshold resummation to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (N$^3$LL) accuracy. The intricate relationship between soft theorems and the BMS symmetries have also motivated the definition of such asymptotic symmetries to time-like infinity. Although the vector fields that generate the (generalized) BMS algebra at time-like infinity was defined in the literature, the algebra has not been investigated. In this paper, we fill this gap. We show that the super-translations and vector fields that generate sphere diffeomorphisms close under the modified Lie bracket proposed by Barnich et al.

We present the resummed predictions for inclusive cross-section for Drell-Yan (DY) production as well as onshell $Z,W^\pm$ productions at next-to-next-to-next-to leading logarithmic (N$^{3}$LL) accuracy. Using the standard techniques, we derive the $N$-dependent coefficients in the Mellin-$N$ space as well as the $N$-independent constants and match the resummed result through the minimal prescription matching procedure with that of existing next-to next-to leading order (NNLO). In addition to the standard $\ln N$ exponentiation, we study the numerical impacts of exponentiating $N$-independent part of the soft function and the complete $\bar{g}_0$ that appears in the resummed predictions in $N$ space. All the analytical pieces needed in these different approaches are extracted from the soft-virtual part of the inclusive cross section known to next-to-next-to-next-to leading order (N$^3$LO). We perform a detailed analysis on the scale and parton distribution function (PDF) variations and present predictions for the 13 TeV LHC for the neutral Drell-Yan process as well as onshell charged and neutral vector boson productions.

We investigate the relationship between asymptotic symmetries of QCD and vacuum transitions induced during scattering. Starting with the Fock vacuum in the far past, the infinity of conservation laws associated to (non-Abelian) asymptotic symmetries in QCD can be used to determine the vacuum in the far future. We show that the corresponding asymptotic Hilbert space in the future is generated by a class of dressed states in which each finite energy particle is dressed by a cloud of interacting soft gluons. We identify the precise structure of the dressing using conservation laws and show that the corresponding asymptotic states are equivalent to the generalised coherent states defined by Catani et al.

We present next-to-next-to leading order (NNLO) quantum electrodynamics (QED) corrections to the production of the Higgs boson in bottom quark annihilation at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in the five flavor scheme. We have systematically included the NNLO corrections resulting from the interference of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and QED interactions. We have investigated the infrared (IR) structure of the bottom quark form factor up to two loop level in QED and in QCD$\times$QED using K+G equation. We find that the IR poles in the form factor are controlled by the universal cusp, collinear and soft anomalous dimensions. In addition, we derive the QED as well as QCD$\times$QED contributions to soft distribution function as well as to the ultraviolet renormalization constant of the bottom Yukawa coupling up to second order in strong coupling and fine structure constant. Finally, we report our findings on the numerical impact of the NNLO results from QED and QCD$\times$QED at the LHC energies taking into account the dominant NNLO QCD corrections.

We determine the third order perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) correction to the process dependent constant in the resummed expression using the three loop bottom quark form factor and third order quark soft distribution function. Thanks to the recent computation of N$^3$LO corrections to this production cross-section from all the partonic channels, an accurate matching can be obtained for a consistent predictions at N$^3$LO+N$^3$LL accuracy in QCD. We have studied in detail the impact of resummed threshold contributions to inclusive cross-sections at various centre-of-mass energies and also discussed their sensitivity to renormalization and factorization scales at next-to-next-to leading order (NNLO) matched with next-to-next-to leading logarithm (NNLL). At N$^3$LO+N$^3$LL, we predict the cross-section for different centre-of-mass energies using the recently available results in \cite{Duhr:2019kwi} as well as study the renormalization scale dependence at the same order.

We present the first results on the two-loop massless QCD corrections to the four-point amplitude $b+\overline{b} \rightarrow H+H$ in the five flavor scheme, treating bottom quarks as massless. This amplitude is sensitive to the trilinear Higgs boson coupling. Our two-loop result for this amplitude constitutes of purely virtual contributions to the next-to-next-to-leading order QCD predictions for the production of a pair of Higgs bosons at the Large Hadron Collider. Using these two loop amplitudes and exploiting the universality of the soft contributions in perturbative QCD, we obtain the NNLO QCD effects in the soft plus virtual approximation. We find that the inclusion of higher order terms reduce the uncertainties resulting from the unphysical renormalisation and factorisation scales.

It is now well understood that Ward identities associated to the (extended) BMS algebra are equivalent to single soft graviton theorems. In this work, we show that if we consider nested Ward identities constructed out of two BMS charges, a class of double soft factorization theorems can be recovered. By making connections with earlier works in the literature, we argue that at the sub-leading order, these double soft graviton theorems are the so-called consecutive double soft graviton theorems. We also show how these nested Ward identities can be understood as Ward identities associated to BMS symmetries in scattering states defined around (non-Fock) vacua parametrized by supertranslations or superrotations.
