Abstract:
The production of unstable particles on different nuclei provides the possibility to determine the total cross section of the interaction of vector mesons $V=ρ,ω,\varphi, K^{*0}(892),J/ψ$ etc. with nucleons. This interaction is defined by a set of amplitudes that correspond to the transverse (helicity $λ=\pm 1$) or longitudinal ($λ=0$) polarization of the vector meson. The total cross section for…

The total cross section for the interaction of transversely polarized vector mesons with nucleon $σ_T=σ(V_T N)$ has been extracted from the coherent photoproduction of vector mesons off nuclei, while the vector meson production in charge exchange reactions as $π^\pm(K^\pm)+A\to V^0(K^{*0})+A'$ provides the unique opportunity to obtain the not yet measured total cross section for longitudinally polarized vector meson interacting with nucleon $σ_L=σ(V_L N)$. We shortly discuss the importance of the knowledge of $σ_L$ and possibility to extract its value from experiments on nuclear target.

The Nuclotron-base Ion Collider fAcility (NICA) is under construction at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), with commissioning of the facility expected in late 2022. The Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD) has been designed to operate at NICA and its components are currently in production. The detector is expected to be ready for data taking with the first beams from NICA. This document provides an overview of the landscape of the investigation of the QCD phase diagram in the region of maximum baryonic density, where NICA and MPD will be able to provide significant and unique input. It also provides a detailed description of the MPD set-up, including its various subsystems as well as its support and computing infrastructures. Selected performance studies for particular physics measurements at MPD are presented and discussed in the context of existing data and theoretical expectations.

Double polarized pp-, dd- and pd- collisions at c.m.s. NN energies of 3.4-10 GeV, which will be accessible at the initial stage of experiments, allow one to study spin dependence of the NN interaction, search for multiquark states at double strangeness, charm and beauty thresholds, study the short-range structure of the deuteron. Double polarized pd scattering offer a possibility to test the Standard Model through the search for T-invariance violation.

The Spin Physics Detector, a universal facility for studying the nucleon spin structure and other spin-related phenomena with polarized proton and deuteron beams, is proposed to be placed in one of the two interaction points of the NICA collider that is under construction at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia). At the heart of the project there is huge experience with polarized beams at JINR.
The main objective of the proposed experiment is the comprehensive study of the unpolarized and polarized gluon content of the nucleon. Spin measurements at the Spin Physics Detector at the NICA collider have bright perspectives to make a unique contribution and challenge our understanding of the spin structure of the nucleon. In this document the Conceptual Design of the Spin Physics Detector is presented.

The measurements of asymmetries in production of J/Ψand direct photons will be performed as well simultaneously with DY using dedicated triggers. The set of these measurements will supply complete information for tests of the quark-parton model of nucleons at the QCD twist-two level with minimal systematic errors.

Abstract:
The charge pion polarizability is calculated in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model, where the quark loops (in the mean field approximation) and the meson loops (in the $1/N_c$ approximation) are taken into account. We show that quark loop contribution dominates, because the meson loops strongly conceal each other. The sigma-pole contribution $(m^2_σ-t)^{-1}$ plays the main role and contains strong t-d…

The sigma-pole contribution $(m^2_σ-t)^{-1}$ plays the main role and contains strong t-dependence of the effective pion polarizability at the region $|t|\geq 4M_π^2$. Possibilities of experimental test of this sigma-pole effect in the reaction of Coulomb Nuclear Scattering are estimated for the COMPASS experiment.
