Handbook of LHC Higgs Cross Sections: 2. Differential Distributions
Abstract: This Report summarises the results of the second year's activities of the LHC Higgs Cross Section Working Group. The main goal of the working group was to present the state of the art of Higgs Physics at the LHC, integrating all new results that have appeared in the last few years. The first working group report Handbook of LHC Higgs Cross Sections: 1. Inclusive Observables (CERN-2011-002) focuses… ▽ More

Golem95C: A library for one-loop integrals with complex masses
Abstract: We present a program for the numerical evaluation of scalar integrals and tensor form factors entering the calculation of one-loop amplitudes which supports the use of complex masses in the loop integrals. The program is built on an earlier version of the golem95 library, which performs the reduction to a certain set of basis integrals using a formalism where inverse Gram determinants can be avoid… ▽ More

Next-to-leading order QCD corrections to pp --> b b_bar b b_bar + X at the LHC: the quark induced case
Abstract: The production of two b-quark pairs is a prominent background for Higgs and New Physics searches in various extensions of the Standard Model. We present here the next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the quark induced subprocess using the GOLEM approach for the virtual corrections. We show that our result considerably improves the prediction and conclude that the inclusion of next-to-leading… ▽ More

Photon - Jet Correlations and Constraints on Fragmentation Functions
Abstract: We study the production of a large-pT photon in association with a jet in proton-proton collisions. We examine the sensitivity of the jet rapidity distribution to the gluon distribution function in the proton. We then assess the sensitivity of various photon + jet correlation observables to the photon fragmentation functions. We argue that RHIC data on photon-jet correlations can be used to cons… ▽ More

Precise predictions for LHC using a GOLEM
Abstract: In this talk we present recent next-to-leading order results relevant for LHC phenomenology obtained with the GOLEM method. After reviewing the status of this Feynman diagrammatic approach for multi-leg one-loop calculations we discuss three applications: the loop-induced process gg -> Z^*Z^* and the virtual corrections to the five and six point processes qq -> ZZg and u ubar -> s sbar c cbar. Six-Photon Amplitudes in Scalar QED
Abstract: The analytical result for the six-photon helicity amplitudes in scalar QED is presented. To compute the loop, a recently developed method based on multiple cuts is used. The amplitudes for QED and $QED^{\caln=1}$ are also derived using the supersymmetric decomposition linking the three theories.

Large-p_T Inclusive pi^0 Cross Sections and Next-to-Leading-Order QCD Predictions
Abstract: We review the phenomenology of pi^0 production at large transverse momentum in proton-induced collisions. Uncertainties in the next-to-leading-order predictions of Quantum Chromodynamics are discussed. The comparison with data reveals that the disagreement between theory and experiment lies essentially in an overall normalization factor. The situation for pi^0 production is contrasted with that… ▽ More

A Parton Shower Model for Hadronic Two-Photon Process in e^+e^- Scatterings
Abstract: A new model of QCD parton shower is proposed which is dedicated to two-photon process in $e^+ e^-$ scattering. When hadron jets are produced, the photon may resolve into quark-antiquark pairs so that the structure functions of the photon should be introduced. Based on the Altarelli-Parisi equation for these functions, an algorithm is formulated that allows us to construct a model for parton show… ▽ More

Jets in photon-photon collisions: from TRISTAN to J/N-LC
Abstract: We study jet production in photon-photon reactions at the next-to-leading logarithm accuracy. Special emphasis is placed on the discussion of the theoretical uncertainties and on the role of the hadronic component of the photon structure function. We also discuss subtleties in the quasi-real photon spectrum when the photon is involved in a large transverse momentum reaction. The phenomenology at… ▽ More
