The variable stars in the field of the bulge cluster NGC 6558
Abstract: We made a survey of the variable stars in a $13.2 \times 13.2$ arcmin$^2$ centered on the field of the Galactic bulge cluster NGC 6558. A total of 78 variables was found in the field of the cluster. Many of these variables are included in the Catalogue of Variable Stars in Galactic Globular Clusters (Clement et al. 2001), OGLE or Gaia-DR3 data releases. A membership analysis based on the proper mo… ▽ More

Compactness and D-boundedness in Menger's 2-probabilistic normed spaces
Abstract: The idea of convex sets and various related results in 2-Probabilistic normed spaces were established in [HR]. In this paper, We obtain the concepts of convex series closedness, convex series compactness, boundedness and their interrelationships in Menger's 2-probabilistic normed space. Finally, the idea of $ \mathcal{D}- $ Boundedness in Menger's 2-probabilistic normed spaces and Menger's General… ▽ More

Goals and strategies in the global control design of the OAJ Robotic Observatory
Abstract: There are many ways to solve the challenging problem of making a high performance robotic observatory from scratch. The Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre (OAJ) is a new astronomical facility located at the Sierra de Javalambre (Teruel, Spain) whose primary role will be to conduct all-sky astronomical surveys. The OAJ control system has been designed under a global point of view including not… ▽ More

Bringing Together Gravity and the Quanta
Abstract: Due to its underlying gauge structure, teleparallel gravity achieves a separation between inertial and gravitational effects. It can, in consequence, describe the isolated gravitational interaction without resorting to the equivalence principle, and is able to provide a tensorial definition for the energy-momentum density of the gravitational field. Considering the conceptual conflict between th… ▽ More

Remarks on the conformal transformations
Abstract: Conformal transformations are obtained by demanding that the form of the metric change by a conformal factor. Nevertheless, this transformation of the metric is not taken into account when a variation of the action is performed. The basic purpose of this paper is to take the transformation of the metric into the variation of the action. When this is done, we obtain now that even massive particle… ▽ More

Teleparallel Equivalent of Non-Abelian Kaluza-Klein Theory
Abstract: Based on the equivalence between a gauge theory for the translation group and general relativity, a teleparallel version of the non-abelian Kaluza-Klein theory is constructed. In this theory, only the fiber-space turns out to be higher-dimensional, spacetime being kept always four-dimensional. The resulting model is a gauge theory that unifies, in the Kaluza-Klein sense, gravitational and gauge… ▽ More

Teleparallel Spin Connection
Abstract: A new expression for the spin connection of teleparallel gravity is proposed, given by minus the contorsion tensor plus a zero connection. The corresponding minimal coupling is covariant under local Lorentz transformation, and equivalent to the minimal coupling prescription of general relativity. With this coupling prescription, therefore, teleparallel gravity turns out to be fully equivalent to… ▽ More

Teleparallel Gravity: An Overview
Abstract: The fundamentals of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity are presented, and its main properties described. In particular, the field equations, the definition of an energy--momentum density for the gravitational field, the teleparallel version of the equivalence principle, and the dynamical role played by torsion as compared to the corresponding role played by curvature in general re… ▽ More

Teleparallel Gravity and the Gravitational Energy-Momentum Density
Abstract: In the context of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity, we show that the energy-momentum density for the gravitational field can be described by a true spacetime tensor. It is also invariant under local (gauge) translations of the tangent space coordinates, but transforms covariantly only under global Lorentz transformations. When the gauge gravitational field equation is written in… ▽ More

Gravitational Energy-Momentum Density in Teleparallel Gravity
Abstract: In the context of a gauge theory for the translation group, a conserved energy-momentum gauge current for the gravitational field is obtained. It is a true spacetime and gauge tensor, and transforms covariantly under global Lorentz transformations. By rewriting the gauge gravitational field equation in a purely spacetime form, it becomes the teleparallel equivalent of Einstein's equation, and th… ▽ More

Teleparallel Equivalent of the Kaluza-Klein Theory
Abstract: Relying upon the equivalence between a gauge theory for the translation group and general relativity, a teleparallel version of the original Kaluza-Klein theory is developed. In this model, only the internal space (fiber) turns out to be five dimensional, spacetime being kept always four dimensional. A five-dimensional translational gauge theory is obtained which unifies, in the sense of Kaluza-… ▽ More
