A study of the spin 1 Unruh-De Witt detectors
Abstract: A study of the spin 1 Unruh-De Witt detectors interacting with a relativistic scalar quantum field is presented. After tracing out the field modes, the resulting density matrix for a bipartite qutrit system is employed to investigate the violation of the Bell-CHSH inequality. Unlike the case of spin $1/2$, for which the effects of the quantum field result in a decreasing of the size of violation,… ▽ More

Unruh-De Witt detectors, Bell-CHSH inequality and Tomita-Takesaki theory
Abstract: The interaction between Unruh-De Witt spin $1/2$ detectors and a real scalar field is scrutinized by making use of the Tomita-Takesaki modular theory as applied to the Von Neumann algebra of the Weyl operators. The use of the modular theory enables to evaluate in an exact way the trace over the quantum field degrees of freedom. The resulting density matrix is employed to the study of the Bell-CHSH… ▽ More

Using Weyl operators to study Mermin's inequalities in Quantum Field Theory
Abstract: Mermin's inequalities are investigated in a Quantum Field Theory framework by using von Neumann algebras built with Weyl operators. We devise a general construction based on the Tomita-Takesaki modular theory and use it to compute the vacuum expectation value of the Mermin operator, analyzing the parameter space and explicitly exhibiting a violation of Mermin's inequalities. Therefore, relying on… ▽ More

Weyl operators, Tomita-Takesaki theory, and Bell-Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt inequality violations
Abstract: The violation of the Bell-CHSH inequality in the vacuum state of a relativistic free real scalar field is established by means of the Tomita-Takesaki construction and of the direct computation of the correlation functions of Weyl operators.

Entangled coherent states and violations of Bell-CHSH inequalities
Abstract: Three classes of entangled coherent states are employed to study the Bell-CHSH inequality. By using pseudospin operators in infinite dimensional Hilbert spaces, four dichotomic operators $(A,A',B,B')$ entering the inequality are constructed. For each class of coherent states, we compute the correlator $\langle ψ\vert A B + A' B + A B' - A' B' \vert ψ\rangle$, analyzing the set of parameters that l… ▽ More
