Fock Space Perspective on Optimal Heralding Schemes
Abstract: We address the design of optimal heralding schemes in linear optical quantum computing context. The problem admits unit fidelity formulation in relevant Fock space, thanks to linear optic feasibility criteria of [Phys. Rev. A100, 022301; arXiv:1901.06178]. Corresponding solution methodology is presented. As an application we inspect optimality of a few known schemes of Bell states generation. It i… ▽ More

Width of the Confining String
Abstract: We critically reconsider our recent observation of confining string shrinkage in pure glue SU(2) lattice gauge theory near the continuum limit. Using the advanced numerical techniques we argue that imperfect overlap with the string ground state and corresponding ambiguities in T->\infty extrapolation are likely to be the cause of the observed scaling violations. Localization of Low Lying Eigenmodes for Chirally Symmetric Dirac Operator

Monopole-antimonopole interaction in Abelian Higgs model
Abstract: We consider interaction of a probe monopole-antimonopole pair in the vacuum of the Abelian Higgs model. For simplicity, the mass of the Higgs particle is assumed to be much larger than the mass of the photon (London limit). In case of a massive photon the straightforward application of the Zwanziger formalism to accommodate both magnetic and electric charges is known to result in gauge dependenc… ▽ More

Embedded Topological Defects in Hot Electroweak Theory: a Lattice Study
Abstract: We study the properties of Nambu monopoles and Z-vortices in the 3D lattice SU(2) Higgs theory which represents the Standard Model at high temperature. We show that the densities of the Nambu monopoles and the Z-vortices are O(1) in the symmetric phase and generically small in the Higgs phase. Near to the critical Higgs mass and in the vicinity of the phase transition the densities are no more n… ▽ More

Properties of Abelian Monopoles in SU(2) Lattice Gluodynamics
Abstract: We discuss some properties of abelian monopoles in the Maximal Abelian projection of the SU(2) lattice gluodynamics. We show that in the maximal abelian projection abelian monopoles carry fluctuating electric charge and that the monopole currents are correlated with the magnetic and the electric parts of the SU(2) action density.

Abelian Dyons in the Maximal Abelian Projection of SU(2) Gluodynamics
Abstract: Correlations of the topological charge Q, the electric current J^e and the magnetic current J^m in SU(2) lattice gauge theory in the Maximal Abelian projection are investigated. It occurs that the correlator <<QJ^e J^m>> is nonzero for a wide range of values of the bare charge. It is shown that: (i) the abelian monopoles in the Maximal Abelian projection are dyons which carry fluctuating electri… ▽ More

Vortex Dynamics in Classical Non--Abelian Spin Models
Abstract: We discuss the abelian vortex dynamics in the abelian projection approach to non-abelian spin models. We show numerically that in the three-dimensional SU(2) spin model in the Maximal Abelian projection the abelian off-diagonal vortices are not responsible for the phase transition contrary to the diagonal vortices. A generalization of the abelian projection approach to SU(N) spin models is brief… ▽ More

Topological Content of the Electroweak Sphaleron on the Lattice
Abstract: 3D electroweak sphalerons on the lattice are used as test configurations for definitions of various topological defects. In the maximally Abelian gauge they are shown to contain a symmetric array of Abelian monopoles and anti-monopoles connected by two kinds of Abelian vortex strings. Gauge-invariant lattice definitions of the Nambu monopole and the Z-vortex string are formulated which correspon… ▽ More
