The novel coronavirus universally known as the COVID-19 outbreak arises at the end of 2019 in one of the East Asian countries and it is subjected to widespread discussion and debate. There are almost 200 countries affected across the globe by COVID-19 and it has ruined many lives and the global economy. The virus is spreading very rapidly at the pace of around 10 fold in less than a month. Also, in the case of COVID- 19 it is critical to detect the infection as it employs various symptoms which may differ from person to person. Hence, diagnosis in starting stage and treatment are very much important for such type of infectious disease. The chest x-ray is one of the primary techniques among blood tests and Computed Tomography contributes a major role in the early diagnosis of COVID-19. There is a rising need for automated and auxiliary diagnostic tools for early diagnosis, as there are no accurate and truthful automated tool kits on hand. In this research study, we have designed a Convolution Neural Network architecture a deep net for the classification of x-ray images of chest among two classes: COVID-19 or Non-COVID- 19 infection. The anticipated model is expected to provide accurate diagnostic results and produced classification accuracy of 99%, 100%, and 100% with 70%-30%,75%-25% and 80%-20% train-test data split respectively, for the binary classification of the x-ray image to be COVID-19 or Non-COVID-19 infection category. We have designed the CNN with optimized parameters with 3 convolution layers and optimized number of filters in each layer.

A non zero $θ_{13}$ arising from a \emph{unique} neutrino mass matrix
Authors:

Abstract:
A \emph{unique} neutrino mass matrix is proposed in the light of normal ordering of neutrino masses, which partially concurs with Tribimaximal (TBM) mixing. The texture accommodates only three real independent parameters, which predict six observational parameters. It rules out any possibility of a vanishing $θ_{13}$. The texture, in its precise form, is generated in the framework of…

Assuming that neutrinos are not Majorana fermions and the right handed Dirac neutrino does not exist, we propose a model in which the second and the third generations of the leptons are composites, while the first generation is fundamental. The composite states are formed by the fundamental leptons and two new fundamental hidden scalar particles. In addition, there exist two hidden forces besides the SM interactions. The gauge symmetry $SU(2)_L\otimes U(1)_{Y}\otimes U(1)_h\otimes SU(2)_h$ of the electroweak and the hidden forces breaks down to $U(1)_{Y}\otimes U(1)_h$ after the spontaneous symmetry breaking (SSB). We explain the neutrino masses in terms of the binding dynamics of a hidden force. The phenomenon of neutrino oscillation can also be explained by our model in a dynamical framework of the hidden forces

High energy (C, D) excitons possess remarkable influence over the optical properties of layered transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and comprehensive understanding of these may have revolutionary effect on 2D opto-electronic devices. Herein, we employed transient absorption spectroscopy to monitor the underlying photo-physical processes involved with C, D excitons in few layer WS2. We observed a strong inter-valley coupling across the momentum space. C, D dynamics were significantly slower as compared to canonical A, B excitons, as a consequence of the indirect Lambda-Gamma relaxation in C, D, unlike K-K direct combination in A, B. Optical behaviour of D excitons was found to be more like A, B, contrary to C, which enjoy unique band nesting effects. Also, C excitons do not hold in any specific position of the momentum space, rather depends upon the photon energy. All these excitons immensely influence each other irrespective of the excitation energy.

Electromagnetic wave propagation in optical fiber amplifiers obeys Maxwell equations. Using coupled mode theory, the full Maxwell system within an optical fiber amplifier is reduced to a simpler model. The simpler model is made more efficient through a new scale model, referred to as an equivalent short fiber, which captures some of the essential characteristics of a longer fiber. The equivalent short fiber can be viewed as a fiber made using artificial (unphysical) material properties that in some sense compensates for its reduced length. The computations can be accelerated by a factor approximately equal to the ratio of the original length to the reduced length of the equivalent fiber. Computations using models of two commercially available fibers -- one doped with ytterbium, and the other with thulium -- show the practical utility of the concept. Extensive numerical studies are conducted to assess when the equivalent short fiber model is useful and when it is not.

Abstract:
We utilize the amenability of the Fermi-type potential profile in Schr{ö}dinger equation to construct a symmetric one dimensional well as $V(x){=}{-}U_n/[1+\exp[(|x|{-}a)/b]], ~ U_n{=}V_n[1+\exp[-a/b]]$. We define $α=a/b, ~β_n {=}b\sqrt{2m U_n}/\hbar$, we find $β_n$ values for which critically the well has $n$-node half bound state at $E{=}0$. Consequently, this fixed well has $n$ number of bound…

Consequently, this fixed well has $n$ number of bound states. Also we obtain a semi-classical expression ${\cal G}(α,β)$ such that the Fermi well has either $[\cal G]$ or $[{\cal G}]+1$ number of bound states. Here $[.]$ indicates the integer part. We also confirm the consistency of $\cal G$ with the number of s-wave neutron energy levels in a central ($x\in (0,\infty))$ Fermi potential well.

Historically, most of the quantum mechanical results have originated in one dimensional model potentials. However, Von-Neumann's Bound states in the Continuum (BIC) originated in specially constructed, three dimensional, oscillatory, central potentials. One dimensional version of BIC has long been attempted, where only quasi-exactly-solvable models have succeeded but not without instigating degeneracy in one dimension. Here, we present an exactly solvable bottomless exponential potential barrier $V(x)=-V_0[\exp(2|x|/a)-1]$ which for $E<V_0$ has a continuum of non-square-integrable, definite-parity, degenerate states. In this continuum, we show a surprising presence of discrete energy, square-integrable, definite-parity, non-degenerate states. For $E>V_0$, there is again a continuum of complex scattering solutions $ψ(x)$ whose real and imaginary parts though solutions of Schr{ö}dinger equation yet their parities cannot be ascertained as $Cψ(x)$ is also a solution where $C$ is an arbitrary complex non-real number.

Text Detection and recognition is a one of the important aspect of image processing. This paper analyzes and compares the methods to handle this task. It summarizes the fundamental problems and enumerates factors that need consideration when addressing these problems. Existing techniques are categorized as either stepwise or integrated and sub-problems are highlighted including digit localization, verification, segmentation and recognition. Special issues associated with the enhancement of degraded text and the processing of video text and multi-oriented text are also addressed. The categories and sub-categories of text are illustrated, benchmark datasets are enumerated, and the performance of the most representative approaches is compared. This review also provides a fundamental comparison and analysis of the remaining problems in the field.
