CP Studies and Non-Standard Higgs Physics
Abstract: There are many possibilities for new physics beyond the Standard Model that feature non-standard Higgs sectors. These may introduce new sources of CP violation, and there may be mixing between multiple Higgs bosons or other new scalar bosons. Alternatively, the Higgs may be a composite state, or there may even be no Higgs at all. These non-standard Higgs scenarios have important implications for… ▽ More

Lepton distribution as a probe of new physics in production and decay of the t quark and its polarization
Abstract: We investigate the possibilities of studying new physics in various processes of t-quark production using kinematical distributions of the secondary lepton coming from decay of t quarks. We show that the angular distributions of the secondary lepton are insensitive to the anomalous tbW vertex and hence are pure probes of new physics in a generic process of t-quark production. The energy distribu… ▽ More

Probing the CP-violating light neutral Higgs in the charged Higgs decay at the LHC
Abstract: The CP-violating MSSM allows existence of a light neutral Higgs boson ($M_{H_1} \lapp 50$ GeV) in the CPX scenario in the low $\tan β(\lapp 5)$ region, which could have escaped the LEP searches due to a strongly suppressed $H_1 Z Z$ coupling. This parameter space corresponds to a relatively light $H^\pm$ ($M_{H^\pm} < M_t$), which is predicted to decay dominantly into the $W H_1$ channel. Thus o… ▽ More

Using Tau Polarization to Discriminate between SUSY Models and Determine SUSY Parameters at ILC
Abstract: In many SUSY models the first SUSY signal in the proposed International Linear Collider is expected to come from the pair production of $\tildeτ_1$, followed by its decay into $τ$+LSP. We study a simple and robust method of measuring the polarization of this $τ$ in its 1-prong hadronic decay channel, and show how it can be used to discriminate between SUSY models and to determine SUSY parameters.

Lightest-neutralino decays in R_p-violating models with dominant lambda^{prime} and lambda couplings
Abstract: Decays of the lightest neutralino are studied in R_p-violating models with operators lambda^{prime} L Q D^c and lambda L L E^c involving third-generation matter fields and with dominant lambda^{prime} and lambda couplings. Generalizations to decays of the lightest neutralino induced by subdominant lambda^{prime} and lambda couplings are straightforward. Decays with the top-quark among the partic… ▽ More

The MSSM invisible Higgs in the light of dark matter and g-2
Abstract: Giving up the assumption of the gaugino mass unification at the GUT scale, the latest LEP and Tevatron data still allow the lightest supersymmetric Higgs to have a large branching fraction into invisible neutralinos. Such a Higgs may be difficult to discover at the LHC and is practically unreachable at the Tevatron. We argue that, for some of these models to be compatible with the relic density,… ▽ More

Total Cross Sections
Abstract: A unified approach to total cross-sections, based on the QCD contribution to the rise with energy, is presented for the processes $pp$, $p{\bar p}$, $γp, γγ, e^+e^- \to hadrons$. For proton processes, a discussion of the role played by soft gluon summation in taming the fast rise due to mini-jets is presented. For photon-photon processes, a comparison with other models indicates the need for pre… ▽ More

SUSY and SUSY Breaking Scale at the Linear Collider
Abstract: After summarising very briefly the key features of different model predictions for sparticle masses and their relation with the supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking scales and parameters, I discuss the capabilities of an $e^+ e^-$ Linear Collider (LC) with $\sqrt{s} \geq$ 500 GeV for precision measurements of sparticle properties. Then I focus on the lessons one can learn about the scale and mechanism… ▽ More

$σ^{tot}_{ee γγ}$ at $e^+e^-$ colliders}
Abstract: In this talk I briefly summarize different models for $σ^{tot}_{2 γ}$ ($e^+e^- \to γγ\to$ hadrons) and contrast model predictions with the data. I will then discuss the capability of the future $e^+e^-$ and $γγ$ colliders to distinguish between various models and end with an outlook for future work.

J/ψproduction through resolved photon processes at e+ e- colliders
Abstract: We consider J/psi photoproduction in e+ e- as well as linear photon colliders. We find that the process is dominated by the resolved photon channel. Both the once-resolved and twice-resolved cross-sections are sensitive to (different combinations of) the colour octet matrix elements. Hence, this may be a good testing ground for colour octet contributions in NRQCD. On the other hand, the once-res… ▽ More

Total Photonic and Hadronic Cross-sections
Abstract: We discuss total cross-sections within the context of the QCD calculable mini-jet model, highlighting its successes and failures. In particular we show its description of $γγ\to hadrons$ and compare it with OPAL and L3 data. We extrapolate this result to $γp$ total cross-sections and propose a phenomenological ansätz for virtual photon cross-sections. We point out that the good agreement with da… ▽ More

$γγ$ cross-sections and $γγ$ colliders
Abstract: We summarize the predictions of different models for total $γγ$ cross-sections. The experimentaly observed rise of $σ_{γγ}$ with $\sqrt{s_{γγ}}$, faster than that for $σ_{\bar p p}$, $σ_{γp}$ is in agreement with the predictions of the Eikonalized Minijet Models as opposed to those of the Regge-Pomeron models. We then show that a measurement of $σ_{γγ}$ with an accuracy of… ▽ More

Physics potential of the LHC
Abstract: The basic aim of physics studies at the LHC is to unravel the mechanism responsible for the spontaneous symmetry breaking in the Standard Model (SM). In the currently accepted theoretical picture, this translates into finding `direct' experimental evidence for the Higgs sector. TeV scale supersymmetry (SUSY) provides a very attractive solution to the `naturalness' problem that theories with ele… ▽ More

SUSY at the Linear Colliders: Working Group Summary
Abstract: I summarise the activities of the different members of the SUSY working group. There have been two major areas of activity: 1) precision measurement of the SUSY particle masses/couplings and hence those of the SUSY model parameters, 2) investigations into SUSY searches at \eplem, \gamgam, $\game$ and $\emem$ colliders, in the nonstandard scenarios such as explicit CP violation, R-parity violatio… ▽ More

Hadronic cross-sections in gamma gamma processes and the next linear collider
Abstract: In this note we address the issue of theoretical estimates of the hadronic cross-sections for \gamgam processes. We compare the predictions of the minijet model with data as well as other models, highlighting the band of uncertainties in the theoretical predictions as well as those in the final values of the $σ(\gamgam \go {\rm hadrons})$ extracted from the data. We find that the rise of… ▽ More
