The nature of the highly dense matter inside the supernova remnant compact star is not constrained by terrestrial experiments and hence modeled phenomenologically to accommodate the astrophysical observations from compact stars. The observable properties of the compact stars are highly sensitive to the microscopic model of highly dense matter. However, some universal relations exist between some macroscopic properties of compact stars independent of the matter model. We study the universal relation including the stars containing exotic degrees of freedom such as heavier strange and non-strange baryons, strange quark matter in normal and superconducting phases, etc. We examine the universal relations for quantities moment of inertia - tidal love number - quadrupole moment. We also study the correlation of non-radial f-mode and p-mode frequencies with stellar properties. We find the f-mode frequency observes the universal relation with dimensionless tidal deformability but the p-mode frequency does not show a good correlation with stellar properties. The p-mode frequency is sensitive to the composition of the matter. We find that universal relation is also applicable for stars with exotic matter in the core of the star with several models of exotic matter.

This work deals with the physical layer security performance of a dual-hop underwater optical communication (UOWC)-radio frequency (RF) network under the intruding attempts of multiple eavesdroppers via RF links. The intermediate decode and forward relay node between the underwater source and the destination transforms the optical signal into electrical form and re-transmits it to the destination node with the help of harvested energy by the relay from an integrated power beacon within the system. The source-to-relay link (UOWC) follows a mixture exponential generalized Gamma turbulence with pointing error impairments whereas all the remaining links (RF) undergo $κ-μ$ shadowed fading. With regards to the types of intruders, herein two scenarios are considered, i.e., colluding (\textit{Scenario-I}) and non-colluding (\textit{Scenario-II}) eavesdroppers and the analytical expressions of secure outage probability, probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity, and effective secrecy throughput are derived in closed form for each scenario. Furthermore, the impacts of UOWC and RF channel parameters as well as detection techniques on secrecy capacity are demonstrated, and following this a comparison between the two considered scenarios is demonstrated that reveals the collusion between the eavesdroppers imposes the most harmful threat on secrecy throughput but a better secrecy level can be attained adopting diversity at the destination and power beacon nodes along with heterodyne detection rather than intensity modulation and direct detection technique. Finally, all the derived expressions are corroborated via Monte Carlo simulations.

We consider zero-sum stochastic games for continuous time Markov decision processes with risk-sensitive average cost criterion. Here the transition and cost rates may be unbounded. We prove the existence of the value of the game and a saddle-point equilibrium in the class of all stationary strategies under a Lyapunov stability condition. This is accomplished by establishing the existence of a principal eigenpair for the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs (HJI) equation. This in turn is established by using the nonlinear version of Krein-Rutman theorem. We then obtain a characterization of the saddle-point equilibrium in terms of the corresponding HJI equation. Finally, we use a controlled population system to illustrate results.

Transition rates and cost rates are allowed to be unbounded. Under a Lyapunov type stability assumption, we show that the corresponding system of coupled HJB equations admits a solution which leads to the existence of a Nash equilibrium in stationary strategies. We establish this using an approach involving principal eigenvalues associated with the HJB equations. Furthermore, exploiting appropriate stochastic representation of principal eigenfunctions, we completely characterize Nash equilibria in the space of stationary Markov strategies.

We consider an investor, whose portfolio consists of a single risky asset and a risk free asset, who wants to maximize his expected utility of the portfolio subject to managing the Value at Risk (VaR) assuming a heavy tailed distribution of the stock prices return. We use a stochastic maximum principle to formulate the dynamic optimisation problem. The equations which we obtain does not have any explicit analytical solution, so we look for accurate approximations to estimate the value function and optimal strategy. As our calibration strategy is non-parametric in nature, no prior knowledge on the form of the distribution function is needed. We also provide detailed empirical illustration using real life data. Our results show close concordance with financial intuition. We expect that our results will add to the arsenal of the high frequency traders.
