In this study the effects of Joule heating parameter on entropy generation and heat transfer in MHD flow inside a channel is investigated by means of Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) in form of a parametric analysis in addition to exploring the solution to the ill-posed problem. All of the governing equations are reformulated in terms of first order derivatives and the dimensionless form of the governing equations has been employed to further lessen the number of parameters and achieve better compatibility with loss function terms. Dimensionless groups such as Reynolds number, Prandtl number, Hartmann number and Joule heating parameter have been designated as the input for the neural network in order to perform the parametric study. Besides achieving high accuracy for case of parameters confined in the predefined ranges, the generalization ability of the method is depicted by solving the problem for the cases where the dimensionless parameters were outside of the assumed ranges. Moreover, the ability of handling Neumann boundary conditions is also investigated in the present study despite being neglected prevalently in the literature concerning PINNs. The effects of Joule heating parameter on entropy generation are researched using a parametric approach utilizing PINNs which is another novel aspect of the article at hand. As a concluding remark, an ill-posed problem is also defined such that the Joule heating parameter is included in a learning process and the method has been able to determine Joule heating parameter as a parameter of interest alongside other learnable parameters of the neural network such as weights and biases.

Conformal phased arrays provide multiple degrees of freedom to the scan angle, which is typically limited by antenna aperture in rigid arrays. Silicon-based RF signal processing offers reliable, reconfigurable, multi-functional, and compact control for conformal phased arrays that can be used for on-the-move communication. While the lightweight, compactness, and shape-changing properties of the conformal phased arrays are attractive, these features result in dynamic deformation of the array during motion leading to significant dynamic beam pointing errors. We propose a silicon-based, compact, reconfigurable solution to self-correct these dynamic deformation-induced beam pointing errors. Furthermore, additive printing is leveraged to enhance the flexibility of the conformal phased arrays, as the printed conductive ink is more flexible than bulk copper and can be easily deposited on flexible sheets using different printing tools, providing an environmentally-friendly solution for large-scale production. The inks such as conventional silver inks are expensive and copper-based printable inks suffer from spontaneous metal oxidation that alters trace impedance and degrades beamforming performance. This work uses a low-cost molecular copper decomposition ink with reliable RF properties at different temperature and strain to print the proposed intelligent conformal phased array operating at 2.1 GHz. Proof-of-concept prototype $2\times2$ array self-corrects the deformation induces beampointing error with an error $<1.25^\circ$. The silicon based array processing part occupying only 2.58 mm$^2$ area and 83 mW power per tile.

In this study, fluid flow inside of an obstructed channel under the influence of magnetic field has been analyzed using physics informed neural networks(PINNs). Governing equations have been utilized in low-order form and the solution has been obtained in dimensionless form. Geometric and physics-related dimensionless parameters have been used as input variables of the neural network in the learning process. The radius and longitudinal position of the obstruction have also been involved in the learning process and the problem has been solved parametrically. In the successive sections of the study, inverse problem has been a matter of interest, particularly in form of obtaining the Hartmann number using the proposed method. The results have indicated that the employed method determined the Hartmann number with great accuracy and entailed proper results. In this study a thorough exploration of effects of physical and geometric parameters on the magnetically influenced flow through a duct has been carried out. The accuracy of the results obtained from the solving method proposed have been compared to results generated by common methods used in computational fluid mechanics. The parametric solution of the problem can serve as a powerful tool in optimization problems. The method was also applicable to cases where the parameters were outside of defined range, indicating it's generalization capabilities.

Initial access in millimeter-wave (mmW) wireless is critical toward successful realization of the fifth-generation (5G) wireless networks and beyond. Limited bandwidth in existing standards and use of phase-shifters in analog/hybrid phased-antenna arrays (PAA) are not suited for these emerging standards demanding low-latency direction finding. This work proposes a reconfigurable true-time-delay (TTD) based spatial signal processor (SSP) with frequency-division beam training methodology and wideband beam-squint less data communications. Discrete-time delay compensated clocking technique is used to support 800~MHz bandwidth with a large unity-gain bandwidth ring-amplifier (RAMP)-based signal combiner. To extensively characterize the proposed SSP across different SSP modes and frequency-angle pairs, an automated testbed is developed using computer-vision techniques that significantly speeds up the testing progress and minimize possible human errors. Using seven levels of time-interleaving for each of the 4 antenna elements, the TTD SSP has a delay range of 3.8 ns over 800 MHz and achieves unique frequency-to-angle map** in the beamtraining mode with nearly 12 dB frequency-independent gain in the beamforming mode. The SSP is prototyped in 65nm CMOS with an area of 1.98mm$^2$ consuming only 29 mW excluding buffers. Further, an error vector magnitude (EVM) of 9.8% is realized for 16-QAM modulation at a speed of 122.8 Mb/s.

Spatial signal processors (SSP) for emerging millimeter-wave wireless networks are critically dependent on link discovery. To avoid loss in communication, mobile devices need to locate narrow directional beams with millisecond latency. In this work, we demonstrate a true-time-delay (TTD) array with digitally reconfigurable delay elements enabling both fast beam-training at the receiver with wideband data communications. In beam-training mode, large delay-bandwidth products are implemented to accelerate beam training using frequency-dependent probing beams. In data communications mode, precise beam alignment is achieved to mitigate spatial effects during beam-forming for wideband signals. The 4-element switched-capacitor based time-interleaved array uses a compact closed-loop integrator for signal combining with the delay compensation implemented in the clock domain to achieve high precision and large delay range. Prototyped in TSMC 65nm CMOS, the TTD SSP successfully demonstrates unique frequency-to-angle map** with 3.8ns maximum delay and 800MHz bandwidth in the beam-training mode. In the data communications mode, nearly 12dB uniform beamforming gain is achieved from 80MHz to 800MHz. The TTD SSP consumes 29mW at 1V supply achieving 122MB/s with 16-QAM at 9.8% EVM.

Novel transceiver architectures and signal processing techniques are required to avoid prohibitive training overhead when large antenna arrays with narrow beams are used. In this work, we leverage recent developments in wide range true-time-delay (TTD) analog arrays and frequency dependent probing beams to accelerate beam training. We propose an algorithm that achieves high-accuracy angle of arrival estimation with a single training symbol. Further, the impact of TTD front-end impairments on beam training accuracy is investigated, including the impact of gain, phase, and delay errors. Lastly, the study on impairments and required specifications of resolution and range of analog delay taps are used to provide a design insight of energy efficient TTD array, which employs a novel architecture with discrete-time sampling based TTD elements.

Next-generation communication systems with wide bandwidths need to operate in interference-limited networks. A discrete-time delay (TD) technique in a baseband receiver array is proposed for canceling wide modulated bandwidth spatial interference and reducing the ADC dynamic range requirements. The proposed discrete TD technique first aligns the interference using non-uniform sampled phases followed by uniform cancellation using a Truncated Hadamard Transform implemented with antipodal binary coefficients. A digital timeinterleaver with 5 ps resolution spanning 15 ns implements a scalable discrete TD to compensate the inter-element delay, while the multiply-accumulate in the signal path is simplified by implementing a 1-bit differential truncated Hadamard matrix. Measured results demonstrate greater than 35 dB cancellation over 80 MHz modulated bandwidth in 65 nm CMOS with a 592x improvement over prior-art demonstration of wide modulated bandwidth interference cancellation.

Then the \textit{Lau product Banach algebra} $\mathcal{A}\times_θ\mathcal{U}$ associated with the Banach algebras $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{U}$ is the $l^1$-direct sum $\mathcal{A}\oplus\mathcal{U}$ equipped with the algebra multiplication $(a,u)(a',u')=(ab,θ(a)u'+θ(a')u+uu')\, (a,a'\in\mathcal{A},u,u'\in\mathcal{U})$ and $l^1$-norm. In this paper we shall investigate the derivations and multipliers from this Banach algebras and study the automatic continuity of these map**s. We also study continuity of the derivations for some special cases of Banach algebra $\mathcal{U}$ and Banach $\mathcal{A}\times_θ\mathcal{U}$-bimodule $\mathcal{X}$ and establish various results on the continuity of derivations and give some examples.
