In the recent years, the thermal Hall transport has risen as an important diagnosis of the physical properties of the elementary excitations in various quantum materials, especially among the Mott insulating systems where the electronic transports are often featureless. Here we review the recent development of thermal Hall effects in quantum magnets where all the relevant excitations are charge-neutral. In addition to summarizing the existing experiments, we pay a special attention to the underlying mechanisms of the thermal Hall effects in various magnetic systems, and clarify the connection between the microscopic physical variables and the emergent degrees of freedom in different quantum phases. The external magnetic field is shown to modify the intrinsic Berry curvature properties of various emergent and/or exotic quasiparticle excitations in distinct fashions for different quantum systems and quantum phases, contributing to the thermal Hall transports. These include, for example, the conventional ones like the magnons in ordered magnets, the triplons in dimerized magnets, the exotic and fractionalized quasiparticles such as the spinons and the magnetic monopoles in quantum spin liquids. We review their contribution and discuss their presence in the thermal Hall conductivity in different physical contexts. We expect this review to provide a useful guidance for the physical mechanism of the thermal Hall transports in quantum magnets.

A recent focus of quantum spin liquid (QSL) studies is how disorder/randomness in a QSL candidate affects its true magnetic ground state. The ultimate question is whether the QSL survives disorder or the disorder leads to a "spin-liquid-like" state, such as the proposed random-singlet (RS) state. Since disorder is a standard feature of most QSL candidates, this question represents a major challenge for QSL candidates. YbMgGaO$_4$, a triangular lattice antiferromagnet with effective spin-1/2 Yb$^{3+}$ ions, is an ideal system to address this question, since it shows no long-range magnetic ordering with Mg/Ga site disorder. Despite the intensive study, it remains unresolved as to whether YbMgGaO$_4$ is a QSL or in the RS state. Here, through ultralow-temperature thermal conductivity and magnetic torque measurements, plus specific heat and DC magnetization data, we observed a residual $κ_0/T$ term and series of quantum spin state transitions in the zero temperature limit for YbMgGaO$_4$. These observations strongly suggest that a QSL state with itinerant excitations and quantum spin fluctuations survives disorder in YbMgGaO$_4$.

Computer network tends to be subjected to the proliferation of mobile demands and increasingly multifarious, therefore it poses a great challenge to guarantee the quality of network service. By designing the model according to different requirements, we may get some related indicators such as delay and packet loss rate in order to evaluate the quality of network service and verify the user data surface and capacity of the network environment. In this paper, we describe an analytical model based on the measurement for the delay of each packet passing through the single existing routers in the network environment. In previous studies, the emulation of real network service behaviors was generally under ideal condition. In our work, the test environment is built to get the relevant test results of the actual network, and the corresponding theoretical results are obtained by our model. The test results are compared with the theoretical results, analyzed and corrected, in order to verify the feasibility of our analysis model for the performance analysis of the actual network. With this concern, calculation results are modified with different schemes to realize more precise calculation of delay boundary with the comparison with the experimental test results. The results show the analysis methods after the amendment can realistically estimate the performance of network element.

Despite the apparent ubiquity and variety of quantum spin liquids in theory, experimental confirmation of spin liquids remains to be a huge challenge. Motivated by the recent surge of evidences for spin liquids in a series of candidate materials, we highlight the experimental schemes, involving the thermal Hall transport and spectrum measurements, that can result in smoking-gun signatures of spin liquids beyond the usual ones. For clarity, we investigate the square lattice spin liquids and theoretically predict the possible phenomena that may emerge in the corresponding spin liquids candidates. The mechanisms for these signatures can be traced back to either the intrinsic characters of spin liquids or the external field-driven behaviors. Our conclusion does not depend on the geometry of lattices and can broadly apply to other relevant spin liquids.

According to the comparison between the calculated half-lives and the experimental data, it is shown that the GLDM describes the $2p$ radioactivity half-lives well. In addition, by comparing its accuracy with other models, it is found that the GLDM has a comparable accuracy with them. Finally, the $2p$ radioactivity half-lives of some most probable candidates are predicted with the GLDM by inputting the \textit{Q}$_{2p}$ values (the released energy of the $2p$ radioactivity) from the updated AME 2016 Mass Table, which may be useful for future experiments.

We investigate spinon band topology and engineering from the interplay between long-ranged magnetic order and fractionalized spinons, as well as Zeeman coupling under external magnetic fields, in honeycomb lattice magnets. The synergism of Néel order and magnetic fields could reconstruct the spinon bands and drive a topological phase transition from the coexisting phase of long-ranged order and chiral spin liquid with semion topological order to the conventional magnetic order. Our prediction can be immediately tested through thermal Hall transport measurements among the honeycomb lattice magnets that are tuned to be proximate to the quantum critical point. Our theory should also shed light on the critical behavior of honeycomb Kitaev materials with emergent Majorana fermion bands. We suggest a possible relevance to the spin-1/2 honeycomb spin liquid candidate material In$_3$Cu$_2$VO$_9$.

Motivated by the recent surge of field-driven phenomena discussed for Kitaev materials, in particular the experimental observation of a finite thermal Hall effect and theoretical proposals for the emergence of additional spin liquid phases beyond the conventional Kitaev spin liquid, we develop a theoretical understanding of the thermal Hall effect in honeycomb Kitaev materials in magnetic fields. Our focus is on gapless U(1) spin liquids with a spinon Fermi surface, which have been shown to arise as field-induced phases. We demonstrate that in the presence of symmetry-allowed, second-neighbor Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions these spin liquids give rise to a finite, non-quantized, thermal Hall conductance in a magnetic field. The microscopic origin of this thermal Hall effect can be traced back to an interplay of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction and Zeeman coupling, which generates an internal U(1) gauge flux that twists the motion of the emergent spinons. We argue that such a non-quantized thermal Hall effect is a generic response in Kitaev models for a range of couplings.

"Magnetic monopole" is an exotic quantum excitation in pyrochlore U(1) spin liquid, and its emergence is purely of quantum origin and has no classical analogue. We predict topological thermal Hall effect (TTHE) of "magnetic monopoles" and present this prediction through non-Kramers doublets. We observe that, when the external magnetic field polarizes the Ising component of the local moment, internally this corresponds to the induction of emergent dual U(1) gauge flux for the "magnetic monopoles". The motion of "magnetic monopoles" is then twisted by the induced dual gauge flux. This emergent Lorentz force on "magnetic monopoles" is the fundamental origin of TTHE. Therefore, TTHE would be a direct evidence of the "monopole"-gauge coupling and the emergent U(1) gauge structure in pyrochlore U(1) spin liquid. Our result does not depend strongly on our choice of non-Kramers doublets for our presentation, and can be well extended to Kramers doublets. Our prediction can be readily tested among the pyrochlore spin liquid candidate materials. We give a detailed discussion about the expectation for different pyrochlore magnets.

We study the origin of Lorentz force on the spinons in a U(1) spin liquid. We are inspired by the previous observation of gauge field correlation in the pairwise spin correlation using the neutron scattering measurement when the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction intertwines with the lattice geometry. We extend this observation to the Lorentz force that exerts on the (neutral) spinons. The external magnetic field, that polarizes the spins, effectively generates an internal U(1) gauge flux for the spinons and twists the spinon motion through the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. Such a mechanism for the emergent Lorentz force differs fundamentally from the induction of the internal U(1) gauge flux in the weak Mott insulating regime from the charge fluctuations. We apply this understanding to the specific case of spinon metals on the kagome lattice. Our suggestion of emergent Lorentz force generation and the resulting topological thermal Hall effect may apply broadly to other non-centrosymmetric spin liquids with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. We discuss the relevance with the thermal Hall transport in kagome materials volborthite and kapellasite.

We investigate the topological structure of the decimal expansions of the three famous naturally occurring irrational numbers, $π$, $e$, and golden ratio, by explicitly calculating the diversity of the pair distributions of the ten digits ranging from 0 to 9. And we find that there is a universal two-phase behavior, which collapses into a single curve with a power law phenomenon. We further reveal that the two-phase behavior is closely related to general aspects of phase transitions in physical systems. It is then numerically shown that such characteristics originate from an intrinsic property of genuine random distribution of the digits in decimal expansions. Thus, mathematical irrational numbers are not so physically irrational as long as they have such an intrinsic property.
