It is comprehensible that the effective control and prevention of epidemic/pandemic infectious diseases is vital. According to WHO, testing and diagnosis is the best strategy to control pandemics. Scientists worldwide are attempting to develop various innovative and cost-efficient methods to speed up the testing process. This paper comprehensively evaluates the applicability of the recent top ten state-of-the-art Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for automatically detecting COVID-19 infection using chest X-ray images. Moreover, it provides a comparative analysis of these models in terms of accuracy. This study identifies the effective methodologies to control and prevent infectious respiratory diseases. Our trained models have demonstrated outstanding results in classifying the COVID-19 infected chest x-rays. In particular, our trained models MobileNet, EfficentNet, and InceptionV3 achieved a classification average accuracy of 95\%, 95\%, and 94\% test set for COVID-19 class classification, respectively. Thus, it can be beneficial for clinical practitioners and radiologists to speed up the testing, detection, and follow-up of COVID-19 cases.

We demonstrate that this model allows topological solutions -- kinks. We analyze the kink excitation spectrum, and show that it does not contain any vibrational modes. We also study the scattering dynamics of kinks for a wide range of initial velocities. The critical value of the initial velocity occurs in kink-antikink collisions, which thus differentiates two regimes. Below this value, we observe the capture of kinks and their fast annihilation; while above this value, the kinks bounce off and escape to spatial infinities. Numerical studies show no resonance phenomena in the kink-antikink scattering.

The equilibration of sinusoidally modulated distribution of the kinetic temperature is analyzed in the $β$-Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou chain with different degrees of nonlinearity and for different wavelengths of temperature modulation. Two different types of initial conditions are used to show that either one gives the same result as the number of realizations increases and that the initial conditions that are closer to the state of thermal equilibrium give faster convergence. The kinetics of temperature equilibration is monitored and compared to the analytical solution available for the linear chain in the continuum limit. The transition from ballistic to diffusive thermal conductivity with an increase in the degree of anharmonicity is shown. In the ballistic case, the energy equilibration has an oscillatory character with an amplitude decreasing in time, and in the diffusive case, it is monotonous in time. For smaller wavelength of temperature modulation, the oscillatory character of temperature equilibration remains for a larger degree of anharmonicity. For a given wavelength of temperature modulation, there is such a value of the anharmonicity parameter at which the temperature equilibration occurs most rapidly.

The discrete part of the domain wall excitation spectrum, the profile of which is described by a kink solution with one or both power-law asymptotics, cannot contain levels other than zero (translational) mode. Nevertheless, it can be shown that scenarios are quite possible when long-lived localized vibrations will be excited on the domain wall. Quantum principal component analysis algorithm is used as a method of quantum state tomography. We perform feature extraction on the eigenvalue matrix of the density matrix after feature decomposition to achieve dimensionality reduction, proposed quantum principal component extraction algorithm (QPCE). Compared with the classic algorithm, this algorithm achieves an exponential speedup under certain conditions. The specific realization of the quantum circuit is given. And considering the limited computing power of the client, we propose a quantum homomorphic ciphertext dimension reduction scheme (QHEDR), the client can encrypt the quantum data and upload it to the cloud for computing. And through the quantum homomorphic encryption scheme to ensure security. After the calculation is completed, the client updates the key locally and decrypts the ciphertext result. We have implemented a quantum ciphertext dimensionality reduction scheme implemented in the quantum cloud, which does not require interaction and ensures safety. In addition, we have carried out experimental verification on the QPCE algorithm on IBM's real computing platform, and given a simple example of executing hybrid quantum circuits in the cloud to verify the correctness of our scheme. Experimental results show that the algorithm can perform ciphertext dimension reduction safely and effectively.

We propose a quantum k-means algorithm based on quantum cloud computing that effectively solves the problem that the client can not afford to execute the same quantum subroutine repeatedly in the face of large training samples. In the quantum k-means algorithm, the core subroutine is the Quantum minimization algorithm (GroverOptim), the client needs to repeat several Grover searches to find the minimum value in each iteration to find a new clustering center, so we use quantum homomorphic encryption scheme (QHE) to encrypt the data and upload it to the cloud for computing. After calculation, the server returns the calculation result to the client. The client uses the key to decrypt to get the plaintext result. It reduces the computing pressure for the client to repeat the same operation. In addition, when executing in the cloud, the key update of T-gate in the server is inevitable and complex. Therefore, this paper also proposes a T-gate update scheme based on trusted server in quantum ciphertext environment. In this scheme, the server is divided into trusted server and semi-trusted server. The semi-trusted server completes the calculation operation, and when the T-gate is executed in the circuit, the trusted server assists the semi-trusted server to calculate the T-gate, and then randomly generates a key and uploads it to the semi-trusted server. The trusted server assists the client to complete the key update operation, which once again reduces the pressure on the client and improves the efficiency of the quantum homomorphic encryption scheme. And on the basis of this scheme, the experiment is given by using IBM Qiskit to give the subroutine of quantum k-means. The experimental results show that the scheme can realize the corresponding computing function on the premise of ensuring security.

We study collisions of coherent structures in higher-order field-theoretic models, such as the $φ^8$, $φ^{10}$ and $φ^{12}$ ones. The main distinguishing feature, of the example models considered herein, is that the collision arises due to the long-range interacting algebraic tails of these solitary waves. We extend the approach to suitably initialize the relevant kinks, in the additional presence of finite initial speed, in order to minimize the dispersive wave radiation potentially created by their slow spatial decay. We find that, when suitably initialized, these models still feature the multi-bounce resonance windows earlier found in models in which the kinks bear exponential tails, such as the $φ^4$ and $φ^6$ field theories among others. Also present is the self-similar structure of the associated windows with three- and more-bounce windows at the edges of two- and lower-bounce ones. Moreover, phenomenological, but highly accurate (and predictive) scaling relations are derived for the dependence of the time between consecutive collisions and, e.g., the difference in kinetic energy between the incoming one and the critical one for one-bounces. Such scalings are traced extensively over two-bounce collision windows throughout the three models, hinting at the possibility of an analytical theory in this direction.

We show that such model allows two types of solutions: topologically trivial (gaussons) and topologically non-trivial (kinks), depending on a sign of the nonlinear coupling. We focus primarily on the kinks' case and study their scattering properties. For the kink-antikink scattering, we have found a critical value of the initial velocity, which separates two different scenarios of scattering. For the initial velocities below this critical value, the kinks form a bound state, which then decays slowly. If the initial velocities are above the critical value, the kinks collide, bounce and eventually escape to infinities. During this process, the higher initial velocity is, the greater is the elasticity of the collision. We also study excitation spectrum of the kink solution.

The two major effects observed in collisions of the continuum $φ^4$ kinks are (i) the existence of critical collision velocity above which the kinks always emerge from the collision and (ii) the existence of the escape windows for multi-bounce collisions with the velocity below the critical one, associated with the energy exchange between the kink's internal and translational modes. The potential merger (for sufficiently low collision speeds) of the kink and antikink produces a bion with oscillation frequency $ω_B$, which constantly radiates energy, since its higher harmonics are always within the phonon spectrum. Similar effects have been observed in the discrete $φ^4$ kink-antikink collisions for relatively weak discreteness. Here we analyze kinks colliding with their mirror image antikinks in the regime of strong discreteness considering an exceptional discretization of the $φ^4$ field equation where the static Peierls-Nabarro potential is precisely zero and the not-too-fast kinks can propagate practically radiating no energy. Several new effects are observed in this case, originating from the fact that the phonon band width is small for strongly discrete lattices and for even higher discreteness an inversion of the phonon spectrum takes place with the short waves becoming low-frequency waves. When the phonon band is narrow, not a bion but a discrete breather with frequency $ω_{DB}$ and all higher harmonics outside the phonon band is formed. When the phonon spectrum is inverted, the kink and antikink become mutually repulsive solitary waves with oscillatory tails, and their collision is possible only for velocities above a threshold value sufficient to overcome their repulsion.

Mobile devices have become an indispensable component of Internet of Things (IoT). However, these devices have resource constraints in processing capabilities, battery power, and storage space, thus hindering the execution of computation-intensive applications that often require broad bandwidth, stringent response time, long battery life, and heavy computing power. Mobile cloud computing and mobile edge computing (MEC) are emerging technologies that can meet the aforementioned requirements using offloading algorithms. In this paper, we analyze the effect of platform-dependent native applications on computational offloading in edge networks and propose a lightweight process migration-based computational offloading framework. The proposed framework does not require application binaries at edge servers and thus seamlessly migrates native applications. The proposed framework is evaluated using an experimental testbed. Numerical results reveal that the proposed framework saves almost 44% of the execution time and 84% of the energy consumption. Hence, the proposed framework shows profound potential for resource-intensive IoT application processing in MEC.

The effect of discrete breathers (DBs) on macroscopic properties of the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam chain with symmetric and asymmetric potentials is investigated. The total to kinetic energy ratio (related to specific heat), stress (related to thermal expansion), and Young's modulus are monitored during the development of modulational instability of the zone boundary mode. The instability results in the formation of chaotic DBs followed by the transition to thermal equilibrium when DBs disappear due to energy radiation in the form of small-amplitude phonons. It is found that DBs reduce the specific heat for all the considered chain parameters. They increase the thermal expansion when the potential is asymmetric and, as expected, thermal expansion is not observed in the case of symmetric potential. The Young's modulus in the presence of DBs is smaller than in thermal equilibrium for the symmetric potential and for the potential with a small asymmetry, but it is larger than in thermal equilibrium for the potential with greater asymmetry. Our results can be useful for setting experiments on the identification of DBs in crystals by measuring their macroscopic properties.

A nonlinear chain with six-order polynomial on-site potential is used to analyze the evolution of the total to kinetic energy ratio during development of modulational instability of extended nonlinear vibrational modes. For the on-site potential of hard-type (soft-type) anharmonicity, the instability of $q=π$ mode ($q=0$ mode) results in the appearance of long-living discrete breathers (DBs) that gradually radiate their energy and eventually the system approaches thermal equilibrium with spatially uniform and temporally constant temperature. In the hard-type (soft-type) anharmonicity case, the total to kinetic energy ratio is minimal (maximal) in the regime of maximal energy localization by DBs. It is concluded that DBs affect specific heat of the nonlinear chain and for the case of hard-type (soft-type) anharmonicity they reduce (increase) the specific heat.

Abstract:
We study collisions of two, three, and four kinks of the double sine-Gordon model. The initial conditions are taken in a special form in order to provide collision of all kinks in one point. We obtain dependences of the maximal energy densities on the model parameter. We also analyze the final states observed in these collisions.

The kink-antikink interaction is generically attractive, while the kink-kink interaction is generically repulsive. We find that the force of interaction decays with the $(\frac{2n}{n-1})$th power of their separation, and we identify the general prefactor for {\it arbitrary} $n$. Importantly, we test the resulting mathematical prediction with detailed numerical simulations of the dynamic field equation, and obtain good agreement between theory and numerics for the cases of $n=2$ ($\varphi^8$ model), $n=3$ ($\varphi^{10}$ model) and $n=4$ ($\varphi^{12}$ model).

We present a computational analysis of the long-range interactions of solitary waves in higher-order field theories. Our vehicle of choice is the $\varphi^8$ field theory, although we explore similar issues in example $\varphi^{10}$ and $\varphi^{12}$ models. In particular, we discuss the fundamental differences between the latter higher-order models and the standard $\varphi^4$ model. Upon establishing the power-law asymptotics of the model's solutions' approach towards one of the steady states, we make the case that such asymptotics require particular care in setting up multi-soliton initial conditions. A naive implementation of additive or multiplicative ansätze gives rise to highly pronounced radiation effects and eventually leads to the illusion of a repulsive interaction between a kink and an antikink in such higher-order field theories. We propose and compare several methods for how to "distill" the initial data into suitable ansätze, and we show how these approaches capture the attractive nature of interactions between the topological solitons in the presence of power-law tails (long-range interactions). This development paves the way for a systematic examination of solitary wave interactions in higher-order field theories and raises some intriguing questions regarding potential experimental observations of such interactions. As an Appendix, we present an analysis of kink-antikink interactions in the example models via the method of collective coordinates.

At $v_{in}>v_{cr}$ we observe kinks reflection, while at $v_{in}<v_{cr}$ their interaction is complicated with capture and escape windows. We obtain the dependence of $v_{cr}$ on the parameter of the model. This dependence possesses a series of local maxima, which has not been reported by other authors. At some initial velocities below the critical value we observe a new phenomenon -- the escape of two oscillons in the final state. Besides that, at $v_{in}<v_{cr}$ we found the initial kinks' velocities at which the oscillons do not escape, and the final configuration looks like a bound state of two oscillons.

In particular, we observe the `escape windows' -- the escape of the kinks after two or more collisions, explained by the resonant energy exchange between the translational and vibrational modes. In order to elucidate this phenomenon, we also analyze the excitation spectra of a solitary kink and of a composite kink+antikink configuration.

We also analyze the extreme values of the energy densities and the field gradient observed during the collisions. Our results suggest that very high energy densities can be produced in multi-kink collisions in a controllable manner. Appearance of high energy density spots in multi-kink collisions can be important in various physical applications of the Klein-Gordon model.

We show that if a kink and an antikink face each other in way such that their power-law tails determine the kink--antikink interaction, then the force of their interaction decays slowly, as some negative power of distance between them. The results for the three-body scattering amplitude appear to be ambiguous -- they depend on a single real parameter. This parameter may be fixed by a three-body input, e.g., the three-body scattering length. We also solve the integral equation for the three-body Green function in the momentum space, introducing a finite cut-off. We show that all three approaches are equivalent. Replica placement (RP) intended at producing a set of duplicated data items across the nodes of a distributed system in order to optimize fault tolerance, availability, system performance load balancing. Typically, RP formulations employ dynamic methods to change the replica placement in the system potentially upon user request profile. Continuous Replica Placement Problem (CRPP) is an extension of replica placement problem that takes into consideration the current replication state of the distributed system along with user request profile to define a new replication scheme, subject to optimization criteria and constraints. This paper proposes an alternative technique, named Availability Aware Continuous Replica Placement Problem (AACRPP).AACRPP can be defined as: Given an already defined replica placement scheme, a user request profile, and a node failure profile define a new replication scheme, subject to optimization criteria and constraints. In this effort we use modified greedy heuristics from the CRPP and investigated the proposed mechanism using a trace driven java based simulation.

Virtualization is generally adopted in server and desktop environments to provide for fault tolerance, resource management, and energy efficiency. Virtualization enables parallel execution of multiple operating systems (OSs) while sharing the hardware resources. Virtualization was previously not deemed as feasible technology for mobile and embedded devices due to their limited processing and memory resource. However, the enterprises are advocating Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) applications that enable co-existence of heterogeneous OSs on a single mobile device. Moreover, embedded device require virtualization for logical isolation of secure and general purpose OSs on a single device. In this paper, we investigate the processor architectures in the mobile and embedded space while examining their formal visualizability. We also compare the virtualization solutions enabling coexistence of multiple OSs in Multicore Processor System-on-Chip (MPSoC) mobile and embedded systems. We advocate that virtualization is necessary to manage resource in MPSoC designs and to enable BYOD, security, and logical isolation use cases.

Virtualization technology reduces cloud operational cost by increasing cloud resource utilization level. The incorporation of virtualization within cloud data centers can severely degrade cloud performance if not properly managed. Virtual machine (VM) migration is a method that assists cloud service providers to efficiently manage cloud resources while eliminating the need of human supervision. VM migration methodology migrates current-hosted workload from one server to another by either employing live or non-live migration pattern. In comparison to non-live migration, live migration does not suspend application services prior to VM migration process. VM migration enables cloud operators to achieve various resource management goals, such as, green computing, load balancing, fault management, and real time server maintenance. In this paper, we have thoroughly surveyed VM migration methods and applications. We have briefly discussed VM migration applications. Some open research issues have been highlighted to represent future challenges in this domain. A queue based migration model has been proposed and discussed to efficiently migrate VM memory pages.

We study excitation spectra of BPS-saturated topological solutions -- the kinks -- of the $\varphi^8$ scalar field model in $(1+1)$ dimensions, for three different choices of the model parameters. We demonstrate that some of these kinks have a vibrational mode, apart from the trivial zero (translational) excitation. One of the considered kinks is shown to have three vibrational modes. We perform a numerical calculation of the kink-kink scattering in one of the considered variants of the $\varphi^8$ model, and find the critical collision velocity $v_{\scriptsize \mbox{cr}}$ that separates the different collision regimes: inelastic bounce of the kinks at $v_{\scriptsize \mbox{in}}\ge v_{\scriptsize \mbox{cr}}$, and capture at $v_{\scriptsize \mbox{in}}<v_{\scriptsize \mbox{cr}}$. We also observe escape windows at some values of $v_{\scriptsize \mbox{in}}<v_{\scriptsize \mbox{cr}}$ where the kinks escape to infinity after bouncing off each other two or more times. We analyse the features of these windows and discuss their relation to the resonant energy exchange between the translational and the vibrational excitations of the colliding kinks.

We elaborate the possibility for a deformed extra space to be considered as the dark matter candidate. To perform calculations a class of two-dimensional extra metrics was considered in the framework of the multidimensional gravity. It was shown that there exists a family of stationary metrics of the extra space possessing point-like defect. Estimation of cross section of scattering of a particle of the ordinary matter on a spatial domain with deformed extra space is in agreement with the observational constraints.

The nonbaryonic dark matter of the Universe is assumed to consist of new stable forms of matter. Their stability reflects symmetry of micro world and mechanisms of its symmetry breaking. In the early Universe heavy metastable particles can dominate, leaving primordial black holes (PBHs) after their decay, as well as the structure of particle symmetry breaking gives rise to cosmological phase transitions, from which massive black holes and/or their clusters can originate. PBHs can be formed in such transitions within a narrow interval of masses about $10^{17}$g and, avoiding severe observational constraints on PBHs, can be a candidate for the dominant form of dark matter. PBHs in this range of mass can give solution of the problem of reionization in the Universe at the redshift $z\sim 5... 10$. Clusters of massive PBHs can serve as a nonlinear seeds for galaxy formation, while PBHs evaporating in such clusters can provide an interesting interpretation for the observations of point-like gamma-ray sources. Analysis of possible PBH signatures represents a universal probe for super-high energy physics in the early Universe in studies of indirect effects of the dark matter.

Abstract:
We study kink scattering processes in the (1+1)-dimensional $\varphi^6$ model in the framework of the collective coordinate approximation. We find critical values of the initial velocities of the colliding kinks. These critical velocities distinguish different regimes of collisions. The exact equation of motion for the $\varphi^6$ model is also solved numerically with the same initial conditions.…

We study kink scattering processes in the (1+1)-dimensional $\varphi^6$ model in the framework of the collective coordinate approximation. We find critical values of the initial velocities of the colliding kinks. These critical velocities distinguish different regimes of collisions. The exact equation of motion for the $\varphi^6$ model is also solved numerically with the same initial conditions. We discuss advantages and disadvantages of the collective coordinate approximation, and also outline its applicability limits. Resonance phenomena and the so-called escape windows are also observed in the kink collisions.

Recently, Cloud-based Mobile Augmentation (CMA) approaches have gained remarkable ground from academia and industry. CMA is the state-of-the-art mobile augmentation model that employs resource-rich clouds to increase, enhance, and optimize computing capabilities of mobile devices aiming at execution of resource-intensive mobile applications. Augmented mobile devices envision to perform extensive computations and to store big data beyond their intrinsic capabilities with least footprint and vulnerability. Researchers utilize varied cloud-based computing resources (e.g., distant clouds and nearby mobile nodes) to meet various computing requirements of mobile users. However, employing cloud-based computing resources is not a straightforward panacea. Comprehending critical factors that impact on augmentation process and optimum selection of cloud-based resource types are some challenges that hinder CMA adaptability. This paper comprehensively surveys the mobile augmentation domain and presents taxonomy of CMA approaches. The objectives of this study is to highlight the effects of remote resources on the quality and reliability of augmentation processes and discuss the challenges and opportunities of employing varied cloud-based resources in augmenting mobile devices. We present augmentation definition, motivation, and taxonomy of augmentation types, including traditional and cloud-based. We critically analyze the state-of-the-art CMA approaches and classify them into four groups of distant fixed, proximate fixed, proximate mobile, and hybrid to present a taxonomy. Vital decision making and performance limitation factors that influence on the adoption of CMA approaches are introduced and an exemplary decision making flowchart for future CMA approaches are presented. Impacts of CMA approaches on mobile computing is discussed and open challenges are presented as the future research directions.
