Beyond mean-field effects in dynamics of BEC in the double-well potential
Abstract: The nonlinear dynamics of a quasi-1D BEC loaded in a double-well potential is studied. The beyond mean-field corrections to the energy in the form of the Lee-Huang-Yang term are taken into account. One-dimensional geometry is considered. The problem is described in the scalar approximation by the extended Gross-Pitaevskii (EGP) equation with the attractive quadratic nonlinearity, due to the Lee-Hu… ▽ More

Effects of quantum fluctuations on macroscopic quantum tunneling and self-trap** of BEC in a double well trap
Abstract: We study the influence of quantum fluctuations on the macroscopic quantum tunneling and self-trap** of a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate in a double-well trap. Quantum fluctuations are described by the Lee-Huang-Yang term in the modified Gross-Pitaevskii equation. Employing the modified Gross-Pitaevskii equation in scalar approximation, we derive the dimer model using a two-mode approxima… ▽ More

Bosonic impurity in a one-dimensional quantum droplet in the Bose-Bose mixture
Abstract: We study an impurity immersed in the mixture of Bose ultracold gases in the regime where a quantum droplet exists. The quasi-one-dimensional geometry is considered. We find an effective attractive potential that acts by the quantum droplet onto the impurity. The bound states of the impurity in this potential are investigated. These impurity bound states can provide potential probes for the presenc… ▽ More

Optical solitons in periodically managed PT-symmetric media
Abstract: The dynamics of light beams in the nonlinear optical media with periodically modulated in the longitudinal direction parity-time distribution of the complex refractive index is investigated. The possibility of dynamical stabilization of PT-symmetric solitons is demonstrated.

Quasi 1D Bose-Einstein condensate flow past a nonlinear barrier
Abstract: The problem of a quasi 1D {\it repulsive} BEC flow past through a nonlinear barrier is investigated. Two types of nonlinear barriers are considered, wide and short range ones. Steady state solutions for the BEC moving through a wide repulsive barrier and critical velocities have been found using hydrodynamical approach to the 1D Gross-Pitaevskii equation. It is shown that in contrast to the linear… ▽ More

Soliton dynamics at an interface between uniform medium and nonlinear optical lattice
Abstract: We study trap** and propagation of a matter-wave soliton through the interface between uniform medium and a nonlinear optical lattice (NOL). Different regimes for transmission of a broad and a narrow soliton are investigated. Reflections and transmissions of solitons are predicted as function of the lattice phase. The existence of a threshold in the amplitude of the nonlinear optical lattice,… ▽ More

Modulational instability of matter waves under strong nonlinearity management
Abstract: We study modulational instability of matter-waves in Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) under strong temporal nonlinearity-management. Both BEC in an optical lattice and homogeneous BEC are considered in the framework of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation, averaged over rapid time modulations. For a BEC in an optical lattice, it is shown that the loop formed on a dispersion curve undergoes transformatio… ▽ More

Collective excitations of BEC under anharmonic trap position jittering
Abstract: Collective excitations of a Bose-Einstein condensate under periodic oscillations of a quadratic plus quartic trap position has been studied. A coupled set of variational equations is derived for the width and the condensate wave function center. Analytical expressions for the growth of oscillation amplitudes in the resonance case are derived. It is shown that jittering of an anharmonic trap posi… ▽ More

Collective oscillations of a quasi one dimensional Bose condensate under dam**
Abstract: Influence of the dam** on collective oscillations of a one-dimensional trapped Bose gas in the mean field regime has been studied. Using the phenomenological dam** approach developed by L.P. Pitaevskii, modified variational equations for the parameters of the condensate wave function is derived. Resonances in a trapped 3D Bose-Einstein condensate under periodically varying atomic scattering length
Abstract: Nonlinear oscillations of a 3D radial symmetric Bose-Einstein condensate under periodic variation in time of the atomic scattering length have been studied analytically and numerically. The time-dependent variational approach is used for the analysis of the characteristics of nonlinear resonances in the oscillations of the condensate. The bistability in oscillations of the BEC width is invistiga… ▽ More

Dynamics of a trapped 2D Bose-Einstein condensate with periodically and randomly varying atomic scattering length
Abstract: In this work we consider the oscillations and associated resonance of a 2D Bose-Einstein condensate under periodic and random modulations of the atomic scattering length. For random oscillations of the trap potential and of the atomic scattering length we are able to calculate the mean growth rate for the width of the condensate.
