Perceived Social Loafing in Undergraduate Software Engineering Teams

Abstract: We surveyed 237 undergraduate students who are enrolled in various subjects and are members of software engineering teams. Their being a member in a team is part of the requirements of the course. We found that each of task visibility, distributive justice, and intrinsic task involvement were negatively associated with social loafing. We also found out that dominance, aggression and sucker effect each were positively correlated with social loafing. A Green Laser Pointer Hazard

Abstract: An inexpensive green laser pointer was found to emit 20 mW of infrared radiation during normal use. This is potentially a serious hazard that would not be noticed by most users of such pointers. We find that this infrared emission derives from the design of the pointer, and describe a simple method of testing for infrared emissions using common household items.
